Azana, Jellisa, Kealen, Elize and Rex could help if they wanted with range support but as it was... your front two were doing great on their own. If the hallway was shorter Titus could do it all on his own. The next few rounds and all the bodies lay still before them.

At this point Rex likely speaks up... or more likely runs up to the wall of Titus and squeezes by...


REX says excitedly, "Hey, follow me. I think I know the way to the elevator!" He slowly moves forward and steps forward if you want him to take the lead, or he points to the next direction to take.

Scrapping herself off, Azana winced and began to follow, allowing her healing abilities to finish off any damage the magical healing hadn't been able to complete. "Thank you for healing me, Jelissa. I thought I was a goner."

With plenty of rounds to heal her... She would reply and wait for an answer before continuing to heal, "I thought you were going to be gone as well, it surely was a close one. Azana do you need more healing?"

He would stay at the front with Titus but as the hallways closed to be 5 feet wide he would look back more and more. He would whisper to Titus, "Should I hold the back just in case?!"


Rex moved surprisingly fast and with very few corpses around he quickly finds the elevator. Seeing that it is locked he puts his hand up to the scanner and soon the doors open. A small elevator that fits the group, barely.

Down another seven bings but it seems like you go further than 7 stories. Then the elevator stops, Rex gets out and looks around, he is sure this is the right floor, the bottom.

You are in a large warehouse but a good 100 yards, 300 feet away, you see a building that seems to be built out of the wall. Lights flicker on and off in the building as giant flood lights make it easy to see in the warehouse. There does not appear to be any corpses or living around. A few robots stop wave and then continue sorting and cleaning.

Crossing the warehouse you likely are cautious and listening for any threats but they never come. You get to the building and the door opens, not even locked. Walking in the first of you jump seeing the black bubbling goo not more than 10 feet away from you but luckily it is sealed away behind glass windows or doors.

The little robot leads you to stairs and up to the second floor where you see.... describe yourself.

Along the back wall of the room is what appears to be some sort of stasis chamber. Inside lies a young girl. she seems almost child-like.

She has red hair and is in a green and yellow dress. she seems to have no weapons in stasis chamber with her.

In the center of the room is a control station. a simple circular podium with a few controls and display monitors.

the monitors indicate the girl in the chamber is alive but there is on parameter that is flashing red.

A notice on the screen indicates that biological DNA needed for activation.

next to the stasis chamber is a handle that is some sort of access opening. maybe 6 inches circular.

"I'm OK, thanks. All healed. Unless I'm killed, one of the things I took from the vault will heal me again in a couple of minutes."

Looking at the chamber, Azana hesitated. "OK...so, hands up whose actually human?" She kept her hands down. "Genetic experiment to try and bring back magic, here, so I probably don't qualify. Or qualify enough for this, anyway. Not unless everyone else qould qualify less." She looked at Titus and Rex on that one.

"I am an elf and Jelissa is more unnatural than I. Kaelen or Elize?" He states and asks as he pulls of a gauntlet if his arm is needed.


Rex immediately begins cleaning things up and turning on the various control consoles.

I am told any non infected DNA sample would work. Alice would assimilate that DNA and inherit some base attributes of the specimen sample.

looking to Azana, I already have a sample of your blood from when you were wounded. but I would prefer a voluntary sample instead.

Rex goes over to large locker with a lock on it. He runs the combination and opens it.

the locker is a large safe and inside is a collection of weapons and ammunition. He starts to get things out, Alice's basic gear, she should be able to ….what's this?

Rex pulls out a tome. flipping through the book, I have never seen this. the symbols are strange.

Rex continues to work as he answers, don't know anything about that black stuff. it is possible Dr. Parsons was studying that stuff. He probably believes it to be source of the infection, but I doubt it.

he brings the tome over to the group, anyone ever see something like this before?

Don't feel too bad Titus, I moved up the science lab. It was going to be in the next actual town. Good thing I changed it.

Jellisa takes the tome from the robot, her eyes turning blue after casting a spell and flips its pages and then says, "Nope. Though it does look like a magical tome of some kind. Nothing my spell craft can identify though."

Thorn looks at the book and shakes his head, looking at all the weapons he asks, "Are all these HER weapons?! Is there any other lockers you can open for us? I would be willing to offer my blood if you need it." His gauntlet was already pulled off and his other hand holds his massive shield.

not to be to picky, but I think a PC (as opposed to a DM run character) would make for a much more interesting event for activating Alice but if none offer we can use Thorn. I don't want to force it on anyone and it has no negative effects on the character that does offer the sample.

as far as the weapons go, it includes lots of ammp, a pistol, and two boxes of hand grenades.

I think a PC should offer too, but if no one else offers then you can accept Thorn's blood as he readies himself. If a PC does offer, then you can have the machine reject his elven blood.

Grabbing his tooth brush he puts it in his mouth and he holds his hand out and nods.


In the cache you can see behind closed doors: 8 modern rifles M16s, 4 pistols 9mm, plenty of ammo, 6 grenades, a mini gun with a pack for ammo, a sniper rifle, a grenade launcher, 2 RPGs, 2 rocket launchers, 3 more magical books, an electrified morningstar, a caustic halberd, a portable alchemy lab, a portable brewing station, a fiery warhammer, a frost rapier, and an old worn bag.

You each can take one item or weapon from the options which does include the items people choose for the loot pile. It will start with Azana, then Alice, then Titus, then Kaelen, Elize, REX, Jellisa and Thorn. To get a second one you will need to do a Disable Device DC 20, Escape Artist DC 22, Knowledge (arcana) DC 25, Knowledge (engineering) DC 20, or Knowledge Tech DC 20. Most of these checks will require a minute to accomplish as there is more involved than normal and a bit of pressure/stress. When you post you should roll all the you plan to try. If you have some kind of special ability, you might get another check in before you should leave. There is also a Tech DC 30, to stop the purge if you wish.

As REX finishes with his first input of codes some doors open up, letting each of you to take one item. Then you hear, "Biological Infection detected. The ware house will purge in 5 minutes."

REX quickly says, "We should be able to make the elevator with a minute to spare."

Titus doesn't want his blood shared as he has been tainted and made an undead. He also has fear of things not being from this world and lacks understanding. If I was from this world I would have volunteered already. :)

Elize moves to the crates with the others as Titus looks at the ooze. I have no idea what to use 500gp on for her She rummages around a bit but takes notice of the sniper rifle.

"What is this. Titus, there are weapons and things over here. Come take a look." She tries to get the rifle out.

K. Engineering DC 20: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (13) + 7 = 20 She is able to get the sniper rifle.

"This looks similar to what the boy on the roof had. So this can shoot things? I will need to practice with it."

Titus makes his way over finding a hat that when put on turns into a monks headband.

"This will let me change my appearance to not seem dead to other humans. This should be useful."

The minigun catches his eye Disable Device: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10 But he is not able to free it.

When the alarm sounds they all look at each other.

Azana quickly reached out and grabbed the potion brewing equipment. Potions would be a real investment, when she had the time to set them up. Cramming it into the magical bag she'd picked up, she paused for a moment, considering. She did have a magical bag, and there was a lot of stuff. Maybe she could combine the two...

At the last moment she spotted the other bag. Wasn't there something about putting magic bags within magic bags causing black holes? She stopped in her tracks, and tried to remember. But when Titus suggested fleeing, flee she did.

If you put a bag of holding into a bag of holding the one that is in the other ceases to function. Spilling its contents into the other bag.

She grabs the gloves with the sapphires upon them and slips them into her pocket.

Then she looks at the locks and screens before her seeing what she can do... having no clue she leaves. Not trained in any of those skills. :(

At Thorn's insistence she stays and casts guidance on him and the others, she had prepared it and other spells since they had lost their wizard to that horrible black goo.

She also begins to identify the magical items in the lockers to check out what they are to know what to take and what to leave.

Seeing Jellissa begin to leave he quickly asks, "Can you cast guidance on me so I might have a better chance at getting some more of these open?" Then he gets to work...

He attempts four times before leaving with his loot... each time collecting the item and slipping it into his backpack which just absorbs it without changing the shape of the bag.

He puts his arm into the hole letting his blood be taken. Then looking for loot and items to help the group he unlocks several lockers. At the 1 minute mark he slides all of Alice's gear into his pack, which seemily dissappear as the pack doesn't sway or look different. His shield was already attached to his back at this point. He goes over and kicks the robot in the butt saying, "Get your arse in gear!"

The woman who still wasn't moving he picks up and leaves the building. Down the stairs, out the door, across the warehouse and into the elevator.

She quickly moves ahead of Thorn looking for any zombies. Luckily there is none and is the first into the elevator.


Assuming you all follow Thorn or Jellisa in a timely order you all get to the elevator at the count of 30. As you start closing the doors you see across the warehouse a door burst open with the largest zombie you have ever seen. It is at least 30 feet tall and huge. It falls to the ground kneeling as a swarm of zombies go around him in every direction. A body forms from a trap door that opens between the horde and you. A body of pure flame and it grows. Now large it begins to burn the zombies.

The count is now at 20. What do you do?

"Is there an up button?" Azana asked, trying to see if she could simply hit that. Or at least 'doors closed'. It might buy them a few moments before that thing melted the elevator.

Rex makes sure everything worked correctly and initiated emergency shut down.

Alice is unconscious for the moment but she is alive, well at least the best that one can tell.

Thorn can sense that Alice is alive.

Once everyone is gathered together on the elevator, Rex activates the elevator to go back up toward the upper levels.

Once we are clear, we can re-group and rest some.


The elevator hits a ping and then everything goes black as the elevator suddenly stops. As you hear a massive explosion rip through the warehouse below. You need to act in rounds, round 1.

REX likely will check to see if there is power and the answer is no, move action.

You could help someone climb out the hatch onto. Then someone could climb out. You could try prying the elevator doors open, without a pry bar or something like it, it will be STR DC 22, with a pry bar STR DC 16.

I have been told recently I haven't been giving enough options, so I will offer options but I am sure you could do something else just ask.

Azana floated up to the ceiling latch and opened it, preparing to help the other through if they couldn't force the doors or simply escape up if they could.


Azana sees the red emergency latch and presses it then pulls it to the side, then it opens up. She floats up and holds her hand down to help the others up.Right?

She puts her scythe up through the hole of the latch and with her other hand on Azana's she easily pulls herself up. She sees a ladder and begins to climb with one hand on her scythe and the other on the rungs above her.

He lifts Alice up for Azana to pull up through the elevator hatch. He has to squeeze through but with Titus and Kealen's help he is able to get through the hatch. Then he pulls out a length of rope to tie Alice to him. "It would be great if you would wake up! Jelissa you got any smelling salts!?"
