She shakes her head after she stops and looks down, "My whole healing kit has been used. I hope we can find a replacement soon!"
The lengths of rope kinda don't come together and make a knot...
"Umm... can someone help me with this?!" He says. He would help Titus and Kealen up if Azana needs help.
Titus still in hybrid form from the fight helps Elize to his back.
"Hold on tight." Once the hatch is open he leaps up. With aid of his vampiric claws and strength, he is ready to climb.
"I will climb up and lower a rope. Hold tight."
Rex goes up last. He does have a little trouble getting up the ladder.
I have what you need, but right now we need to get out of here until the purge process is complete. I may be able to initiate an override from the upper level.
Thorn would offer his rope to REX, "If you can tie it to yourself and me, I can make sure you don't fall." As he sits there waiting for the others.
Titus gets up 100 feet, Jelissa gets up 75 feet, the others begin to climb and then the doors far below blow into the shaft forcefully. You can hear them slam to the bottom of the shaft.
Titus you see a red lever on the side of the door.
Jellisa climbs up, and catches up to Titus, unless he decides to continue to climb up. The others climb after Jelissa, unless otherwise said.
He sets the body down and looks over the edge of the elvator.
"Uh, guys we have a problem. The flame dude is coming up the shaft! Flying!" He yells up to the group.
"I have a couple of spare healing kits, you can have one if you want Jelissa. What the heck was going on down there that this was a good idea for a purge?" Azana called as she floated upwards, and away from the slagging. "It's like Hades took a holiday!" Since Titus was climbing up, Azana began running a rig. It was a simple matter to attach ropes to the climbers, tie one around a rung, move a second safety point up, float back and move the second up...with no risk of falling she could certainly keep the others safe, even if her abilities weren't strong enough to haul people around.
Titus pulls the lever.
"Sunlight, but it doesn't look like the barn?"
He says looking down to the others. He takes notice as the flaming body destroys what is bellow and begins making its way up.
"We won't make it any further."
With that said he forces the doors open steps in with Elize. As she jumps off his back he assists the others getting into the new room.
Thorn suddenly receives some visions flash through his thoughts.
they are a bit painful as he feels his body first feeling very cold then suddenly very hot. he sees visions of various people being experimented on.
then suddenly he feels sadness, a lost of trust, confusion.
He realizes he has an empathic link with Alice, he is feeling her feelings.
the images make no sense, the faces, he does not recognize. the images are jumbled and flash in and out.
the last thing he sees is a kindly man as though through glass, he feels extreme cold. slowly the vision goes black the final thing he sees is the kindly man writhing in pain as he transforms into some kind of black ooze.
then as fast as it started, it ends.
Alice's eyes suddenly open. she says only one word, Matthew!
"Sorry, no, Azana," the floating Half-Orc replied as she followed Titus into the light. "No time to explain, we grabbed you but triggered some kind of fire demon elemental cleaning crew thing that's busy trying to consume everything, and unless you happen to know the thing's off switch we rather need to flee."
Thorn has no way of climbing and carrying the body of the woman, so he is waiting on top of the elevator.
As the flaming body gets close to the elevator he picks up Alice again and covers her protectively with his body and shield putting them both in between her and the flame man.
Everyone else, besides Thorn, has begun to ascend up the ladder following Titus, except for Azana.
The flaming body phases through the elevator floor and stops next to Thorn and Alice just looking at the two of you with flame covered eyes, let alone his body.
Azana is with Titus and 100 feet away from Alice and Thorn.
She gets to where Titus is in the elevator shaft, then being pulled into the room she begins to look around and asks, "Are you going to send a rope down to Thorn?!"
Alice looks at the flaming creature...
Matthew, you must stop! We are not the enemy. She tries to plead with the creature.
The flames cease and a man in loose red fighting garb lands on the elevator next to Thorn. As he stands he waits for Alice to get up or at least uncovered.
Thorn realizes and steps to the side. Letting Alice and Matthew see each other. He holds no weapon and his towershield is on his back.
"What is going on? We had a break in protocols, infection on the lower level. Perhaps another of the doctor's experiments gone wrong?" He says with an even tone watching the man in armor warily. "I am Hellfire and you would be?"
Rex interjects, Doctor Parson's is gone, the whole project is gone. you and Alice are all that are left. We need to re-group and figure things out.
I was just now activated. I agree with Rex, lets stop and take a few to figure things out. Alice is genuinely confused as she has just woke up.
Titus lowers a rope looking down the shaft.
"Everything alright? Secure yourselves I will pull you up."
Seeing the rope descend he shakes his head whispering under his breath, "A little too late." Then talking with Alice and Hellfire. "The rope was to attach your unconcious body to or something. I was hoping someone would help me but they all just ascended the ladder. I didn't dare tie it myself, I didn't want you to fall. Shall we ascend to the next level, I am sure we can all work together. Now that you are awake I will climb up first to tell my group to stand down, as we have new allies. The name is Thorn, I am real glad you didn't burn us or that we had to fight you. Hellfire was it?" He offers his hand for a shake.
He looks at the rope amused, taking it he attaches it to the robot. "It should hold." he states blandly and nods to Thorn not taking his hand. His eyes still blazed with fire but that was fading too.
He then begins to ascend after the robot making sure it doesn't fall.
At the top he takes Titus' hand and is glad for his strength. He then quickly says, "We have two more allies, the woman is awake somehow and a man named Hellfire. He was the flame dude who fried the undead down in the warehouse I believe." At that he points towards them with an open palm as they come into view one after the other.
Following Alice he walks into the room and swears, then quickly says, "We are in hydroponics. Doctor Ivy's level. Did you ever meet her, she doesn't like what kills plants... fire, poison."
Then he nods, "Yes I was part of the purge and cleansing method used. Good thing, otherwise I would be under all that rubble."
The robot gets lifted up safely, the knot holds and everyone makes it up to the hydroponics level safely.
"Well, I suppose it's a blessing that we're safe, but..." Azana glanced at the new comer. "What are you? I mean, don't get me wrong - humans seem to be in a surprisingly short supply, but the heat you were producing looked like it consumed bone. That's...hot. Are we at risk if we accidently trigger something again, of you going all, 'Argh, burn!' at us?"
He snickers at the last bit Azana says and quickly replies, "Was I really going 'Argh! Burn!'? I was doing my assigned task. I saw your group get on the elevator and began to follow seeing that the incendiaries were doing their job. Since you left me behind I made sure there was nothing left moving, which with so much rubble it would have hard to check. Then I followed. What do you think you triggered that purge? No the zombies unchecked were the reason. It could have been an experiment of Dr. Parson's that got out of hand. Or a failure in containment. I don't know, I merely did my job. I am human, Dr. Parson's said I was a mutant, I don't know about all that but I do know flames listen to me and don't affect me. Doctor Ivy and I don't see eye to eye. So I am going to go and see if I can return power to the elevator." Unless someone wants him to stay he goes to the door, ignites and drops into the shaft, smiling.
"A mutant? What does that mean? Yes please return power if you can. We will wait here. Let's not explore or trigger anything else. I would like to get back to the outside."
rex starts to check over Alice to make sure nothing went wrong in the activation.
While Alice tries to stop all the poking and prodding by Rex.
rex, I am fine. stop that...ouch
So Mathe...I mean Hellfire, What is going on, and who are these people?
Alice looks real nervous and somewhat distant.
She carefully and cautiously gathers her gear.
"As they are obviously not infected with the virus one way or another. I don't have to purge them. I am sure REX knows more than I. Robot stop that and answer some questions." He stays also as he sees Alice's nervous behavior. Standing beside her.
"We are looking for those we can save, find a place we can use as a base of operations, and if what was said about us is true, we are the last line of survival for your race. You probably don't believe us but most of us are from other worlds, or at least parallel worlds. We were summoned to help and fight off the zombies. If needed to purge the land that humans may live peacefully again without threat of infection. The robot led us down. Saying that Alice would be a great help to us, that it was your mission as well." He offers letting others speak up to add or to take away from it.
"I mean, it's one of those things. You might not agree with gay rights or tax laws, but I like to think everyone can get behind not dying to a zombie horde." There certainly didn't seem to be a better choice that Azana could see.
Thorn looks at Azana as if those words are completely foreign to him.
She goes over and sits in the corner until someone involves her or worse...
"Yes that is true. But Alice was practically born here so she will have troubles understanding. But yes we all want to live. I was a member of society before the flames consumed that life a few years ago." He points out, referencing his past life.
"This is all well and good but can we get back topside? We will have plenty of time to chat about who or what we are once out of this place."
He looks to Alice and quietly asks, "You going to be okay?" With her nod or confirmation he walks backwards and falls into the elevator shaft.
It takes him several hours to get things working again.
In that time Doctor Ivy does walk by and open a door to walk into your entry room. "Hello? Can I help you... Oh are you hurt?!" She asks looking at those covered in blood.
"No I am fine, it is just... the undead's blood. I might have a few bruises but they are fine." he issues as she walks forward in apparent concern.
"I think I'm OK for now," Azana agreed as her wounds had long since closed. "Are you? Have you been safe here?"
"I am perfectly safe and healthy, why wouldn't I be?" She asks as if she has no clue but she begins looking closer at each of you.
Looking at Azana, "Wait you aren't human, what are you spliced with?" She invades your personal space to inspect not caring and seems to not worry about being attacked.
Once she is done with Azana she would start looking at each of you interested in those that are not human.
"I'm not sure," Azana replies in mild confusion. Most people couldn't tell she wasn't human simply by looking. "I was made using ancient DNA from a relic, so no one was that sure what I am. Uh, you do know about whole zombie apocalypse thing that's going on, right?" She looked at Rex and Dr Smith. "You guys got an announcement, right?"
Titus takes a defensive position moving in front of Elize.
"What? Are you human? Are you alive?"
Titus still in Hybrid form tries to get a smell off of the doctor.
"Oh yeah the whole, zombie apocalypse," she says as if it is nothing. In response to Titus she calmly asks, "Oh me? No I have left my humanity behind, not unlike you. Though I gave myself to my lovlies as you took the form of undeath." She raises her hand and a blossom of a flower blooms there.
Hellfire... has left to fix the elevator.
As Doctor Ivy walks in, Kealen would say "No, looks like none of us are injured."
She offers to Azana, "Come along dear, I will find out for you. Well if it is possible. Your friends are welcome to come along." She walks down the hallway and opens the door at the end, it looks like a medical research doctor's room. There are three doors to it as well. A few well placed plants but pretty much a sterile doctor's room.
