The walls of this large, crumbling chamber are carved with three images of massive bears wearing slabs of stone as barding. The bear images are arrayed outward from a wide opening to the south, as though protecting it, and green gemstones glitter in each of their eye sockets. Another passage exits to the east, and an opening in the north wall provides a third exit.

Six rotting cave bears fill this room. Their stench permeates across every inch of the chamber as a dark necromantic energy seeps from their wounds. The bears go low as they begin to growl through the open and festering soars in their chest.

Those entering the chamber or starting your turn in it needs to make a DC 26 Fort Save or become sickened 1. Add Slowed 1 on a crit fail. While within the aura you have a -2 penalty to saves vs disease.

@Kelvin- It did as that helped kill yellow. Since you go first in the round I have been incorporating it right away.

Kelvin places himself in a precarious position as he thrusts his spear through the creatures maw and out the back of it's head. Cabaguil covers the bear in flames as Kelvin yanks his spear free, killing the undead once more.

Cuthberwyn tries to trip another one of the bears and finds this task much harder than he predicted as Raspar cuts off the side of another bear exposing it's bright ribs beneath.

Dakapos fells the wounded bear with a couple of powerful strokes before moving onto the orange-hued bear, or maybe that is just dried blood. In an enraged fury he severs the spine of another undead bear as he works his way through the carnage of bodies.

The bear carvings each have glittering emeralds for eyes. Prying the six emeralds out of the crumbling stone is a simple matter, and each is worth 200 gp.

The south wall of this crumbling chamber contains a massive depiction of a mountain with an anvil at its peak. A slab of metal the size of a wagon stands in front of the image, apparently a combination of anvil and altar. Carved writing covers the other walls of this chamber, although the writing has crumbled away with the stone in several places. The chamber’s only exit leads north.

Jaggaki, the lich, labors here, aided by two stone giants who diligently copy runes and perform other menial tasks for him. The giants have their faces painted to look like skulls. While Jaggaki is deeply involved in his research the pair of giant's are on high alert from the sounds of combat nearby. The giant look down to Jaggaki, not paying any attention and the bear chamber, waiting to see what you do.

The lich's creaks as he slowly turns around. His voice is raspy as small bits of dust leave his open maw when he talks. "Lord? You are not with those petty slavers." He cranes his head in amusement before considering your question. Jaggaki stands and runs his hands along the runes on the walls. "The writing around the room is in Jotun and predominantly consists of paeans to Minderhal— He Who Makes and Unmakes—and the labors of the souls who serve him in Stonepeak, Minderhal’s realm in Hell. The runes amid these are what are interesting. These carvings unlock secrets to summoning these souls and other devils from Stonepeak."

Kelvin nods his head as te runes make complete sense for the way Jaggaki explains them. Cuthberwyn and Dori on the other hand believe the carvings detail how this shrine was once used to open an extraplanar gate to a similar chamber within Stonepeak itself—a feat that requires longmissing ritual components to complete.

"Now, why are you really risking your lives? You decide to throw away your lives by visiting a lich and giants to speak of runes?" The menacing eyes glare into Cabaguil.

He tries to control the shaking in his voice as he answers, "That's an excellent question. Some would say we're here to bleed for others. Some for high adventure. Some, to be honest, might be here for the loot. Certainly there's a lot of it about."

"But mostly, I think we're an inquisitive lot. And when we find a lich mucking about, we wonder what they're doing. You know?"

He keeps on a steady line of blather for as long as he can, but it's clear to his allies at least, that he has no idea what to say.

With a renewed bit of freedom Kelvin rushes in at the lich. Slamming into the giant lich's leg kelvin ends up knocking Jaggaki down to the ground.

Rushing around the side of the table the stone giant protector whips his club around at kelvin, tossing him back out into the middle of the room where the second stone giant wallops him against the wall, getting him far away from Jaggaki.
