Perhaps the two of you would be able to start the conversation and distract them away from the door and the rest of us come in behind you. Who is the sneakiest of the remaining party - they could come in to be a spy and let the rest in if/when necessary.
I think that might very well be you! I'm good with that plan if everyone else is. I'll at least knock on the door so as to not delay any further (sorry GM!)
Zenaida Radulescu
I apologize for my lack of posting lately. I've been having health problems for the last couple weeks, and been scrambling to catch up on my college assignments as a result. (Don't worry, it's not COVID. Just Chronic Illness Life.) I have an appointment with my doctor later this week, hopefully he can do something about this.
Tarphrex the Magnificent
Oh, sorry to hear that! I hope you are back on your feet soon!
GM Sphen
Less than 3 weeks until Farmageddon. I'll be taking a few days break for that; the 20th-24th. And I'll be running my first Starfinder game there.
I killed a character last year. Who wants to bet that I'll do it again?
Loth Dalveran
Get well soon, Zenaida!
Also I'm betting you'll kill two.
Zenaida Radulescu
I apologize for not posting earlier, I'm still having health issues. And now I'm fighting with insurance to cover my medication. >.< I really hate the American health "care" system.
Things should ease up in mid-May after the semester ends, but until then it's going to be a bumpy ride for me IRL.
Tarphrex the Magnificent
I'm really sorry to hear that you are having to go through that, Z.
We're here when you need to vent. Not sure what we can offer beyond that.
GM Sphen
Good luck with finals and health. Thanks for letting us know and not just ghosting.
I won't ask what's wrong with you, but have you tried just not being sick? I've heard it works great. Been thinking of trying it out myself.
Tarphrex the Magnificent
Radical idea. It'll never catch on.
GM Sphen
Alain hasn't posted in weeks. I admit that I presuming on my end, but I presume they've ghosted us.
Alain, if I'm wrong, jump in here.
Zenaida Radulescu

I keep trying, but my body just won't cooperate! There must be a trick to it.
I did manage to get my meds though, so that's something.
Alain Lawrence
Im here, just waiting for a continue. Unless i missed something. Which on checking yes I did apologies
Tarphrex the Magnificent
Yay! Alain! Loth needs some assistance because Tarphrex split the party again!
Alain Lawrence
yeah, apologies for disappearing the feed wasnt updating for me for some odd reason. i did some updates on my system which logged me out. might have something to do with it. i dont usually disappear without warning
Happens occassionally. if i ever dont post for like... a week. shoot me a message something probably up with my feed not getting updates lol
Alains likely to insist on not leaving any one person alone, being who he is. how are we playing this gm? want me to roll in
Alain Lawrence
I'll do my post today, promise. Currently handling some medical nonsense but my turn wont take to long. Martials don't generally have many tricks Brawlers aside
Tarphrex the Magnificent
I did not realize I was leaving the kitchen to enter the privy. I don't know why I didn't see the wall/door. Oh, well.
Looking at the map and reading people's actions, I think there is a disconnect. Sherman, are you in the dining room facing Aldern (your described action) or in the kitchen facing Iesha (your position on the map)? (The link it at the top of this page, the map is on page 8.)
GM Sphen
Sounds like everyone's got the sickness. Might I interest you in some vitamins? For a limited time, I'm selling them for a seller price. All you have to do is convince 2 other people to sign up to also buy.
I'm just kidding. Hope you all feel better and I promise to only try pyramid schemes if they involve actual pyramids.
Loth Dalveran
Oof, teeth problems are the worst, hope you recover smoothly.
Sherman Blake
Damn, I forgot there was a map - just read the descripion Sherman was on the doorway between the rooms. Since Sherman had unused move action I moved him into where it makes most sense for his action.
Tarphrex the Magnificent
Congratulations! Was it Advanced?
GM Sphen
It was not advanced.
And I only killed one character. And she got better.
I did, however, run my first 0 prestige table. They got hung up by some terrible dice rolls, and even with removing the optional encounter, they just couldn't finish the scenario.
But they had fun and I got to see a literal fire extinguisher in game.
I'll post a continuation of this game tomorrow, I have all the reporting to do today.
Thank you all for your patience, we'll be back into it shortly. I hope you all had a fun weekend as well.
Alain Lawrence
So... Im considering running a high level start game for my home group that I'm normally a pc in. It'll sort of be a series of one shots on occasion where the players are fighting Kaiju level threats. Not sure when I'll do it but if anyone wants to throw ideas in I'll accept
The first Kaiju monster is basically a shadow of the colossus boss. A colossal sized golem
GM Sphen
1 person marked this as a favorite.
Have the battlefield/map be the beast itself. Weak points on the body need to attacked, each one further weakening the creature. More normal sized enemies will directly oppose the PC's. Like fleas protecting their host/home.
A creature that has to be defeated from the inside. The dungeon crawl is its internal systems. Jumping islands (un-dissolved food) floating in stomach acid. The maze that is the cardiovascular system. Electrical damage from the nerves firing.
Alain Lawrence
Oooh i like that.. i was trying to think how to make unique other than giant golem. But its the battlefield..i like
Loth Dalveran
For a different threat that can't be defeated from the inside, how's this:
The monster is a slow-moving force of destruction, easy to outrun. The party knows the trajectory the monster is going to take, and the challenge is to rush ahead of the boss to the next fort/settlement, build up its ability to hurt the monster with ballistas and the like, fight off the monster while it passes, and then when that fort is evacuated/destroyed, the heroes ride off to the next fort. Slowly wearing it down every time until the final stop is armed enough to take it down for good.
Tarphrex the Magnificent
Oh, boy, level up!
Tarphrex gets his first third-level spell. What's the group prefer? Fireball? Deep Slumber? Perhaps a communal spell to buff the team - Darkvision, Resist Energy, Spider Climb are available.
Edit: Haste and Fly are on the table.
Loth Dalveran
Lots of good options there, but Haste might be a good one, I think?
As for Loth, he's got improved Danger Sense, a thing I need to be better about remembering I have (I added it to my byline!) as well as bleeding damage on my sneak attacks!
GM Sphen
Haste is never a bad idea. It's like Mirror Image, it'll stay relevent through the entire game.
Dispel Magic, Displacement, Hold Person, Invisibility Sphere, Mad Monkeys, Spiked Pit, Tiny Hut, Trial of Fire and Acid; lots of really solid choices at this level.
I have a funeral on Monday. So if I post, it'll be later.
Alain Lawrence
Oracle level 3 for me. I get a revelation as I'm a battle mystery oracle, I'll probably take either War sight for super initiative or resiliency for I don't die
Tarphrex the Magnificent
Great advice. Tarphrex now has haste in his repertoire. Other than all of his saves improving because that's what happens at 6th level, he doesn't get a lot at this level.
Sorry for your loss, GM Sphen.
Loth Dalveran
My condolences, GM. Please take all the time you need.
Sherman Blake
My condolences, GM.
Saying "yay" for level-up didn't feel appropriate... But it was nice to hear, nonetheless.
I'm having a bit of a same trouble as Tarphrex - difficulty in choosing the third level spell (haste is an excellent choice, btw *)
Like sorcerer, oracle picks one spell but can spam that 3+1 times a day. But what would that be? Resist energy, communal and magic circle against evil should be quite useful buffs all the time. Prayer is a classic, but I've never really liked it (feels a bit weak for a 3rd level spell). Bestow curse would fit the character maybe, but I have some debuffs already.
Anything you fellow adventurers would like to be buffed with?
*) does anyone remember the times when haste also aged everyone affected by one year. I'm not sure if everyone or anyone run that as written, however.
GM Sphen
Align weapon communal, dispel magic, invisibility purge, protection from energy, remove curse, remove disease, and stone shape all come online at this level.
Personally, I'm a big fan of stone shape. But it's way better at later levels, so probably not the best to pick first.
Tarphrex the Magnificent
I remember haste aging people, but I never got to play it.
Something with enough utility to want to use that often - or you can upcast freely in PF1, can’t you? Dispel Magic might be a good get-out-of-jail-free card on occasion. But I couldn’t pick my own spell, don’t listen to me!
GM Sphen
Shameless pandering time.
With Farmageddon 10 over, and this year's Gauntlet finished, the pdf for said Gauntlet is available to purchase. $5, through PayPal for anyone who might be interested. It contains 8 challanges for 5th level 1st edition characters, with a final chamber ment to be tackled by multiple groups of the survivors of said challanges.
Zenaida Radulescu
You have my condolences, GM.
I'm on the homeward stretch, but not done quite yet. My final project is due this coming Tuesday. So it's going to take me a while to level up, I'm afraid.
Aww, I was hoping Aldern's sword was magical. I really need to upgrade.
Loth Dalveran
100% expecting that the only thing behind that portrait is more wall.
Zenaida Radulescu
I LIIIIIVE!
Oh my god, I can't believe I made it through the semester. There were times when I wondered if I would. Sorry about the delay, folks, we had a major hailstorm here yesterday that took the internet out for quite a while. Hail the size of golf balls actually exists. Wild.
Now back to your regularly scheduled warpriest posts! And leveling up, argh.
Tarphrex the Magnificent
Hail the size of softballs exists. Thank your lucky stars your vehicle has never experienced it.
Welcome back!
Loth Dalveran
Congratulations on surviving, glad to see you back!
GM Sphen
Big congrats. Is this just the end of the semester or the end of school entire?
Also, welcome back. We're considering crime.
Zenaida Radulescu
Thanks everyone! Just the end of the semester, I still have another year to go for my certificate.
Is it really a Pathfinder game without theft, murder, and/or arson?
Sherman Blake
Congrats Zenaida, glad to have you back!
I'll be travelling, and unlikely to post until Wednesday. Bot Sherman if needed!
Zenaida Radulescu
Hey, I've been super sick the past... I don't even know how long it's been. Time gets funny when you feel like this. :P I'll do my best to catch up quickly, but I'm still not feeling great. Just coherent enough to form sentences and type them.
Tarphrex the Magnificent
Oh, Zenaida! Sorry to hear that! Get well soon!
Loth Dalveran
I got a bit nosy so I checked who our new player was, and can I just say, welcome back to this campaign and it's a delight to get to play with you again :)
Also, yes Zenaida, please get well soon!
