Boy, for a moment I thought the campaign was already coming to an end. By the way, this is the best introduction I've had in an RPG so far, and I've been playing for almost twenty years!
Changing subject: @GM if you need an image for Sebastian's token I can provide you this one.
I really can't wait to see what happens next!
GM Chapel |
Token swapped.
I'm glad you liked it!
I wanted to drive home the horror/helplessness. I'm sorry I stopped rolling attacks and such at the end. I was worried that it was going to start dragging too much. Especially for Kayalenta. No one wants to just "be dead" while everyone else plays.
Table 2 had a PC die with the first first surprise attack.

Just a question or two before I post.
First off, do you prefer if I RP Colenso (the Shade) or would you prefer to do that?
If you're okay with my taking care of it, has his memories (such as they are) been removed as well, or is he able to at least provide basic reminders (of herself, if nothing else).
For reference, his Int is 7, so simple, but well above animal-level.
Also, with the Bonded Mind feat, they mostly speak to each other that way, but sometimes Zylah will speak out loud.

Description
You can whisper messages and receive whispered replies. Those nearby can hear these messages with a DC 25 Perception check. You point your finger at each creature you want to receive the message. When you whisper, the whispered message is audible to all targeted creatures within range. Magical silence, 1 foot of stone, 1 inch of common metal (or a thin sheet of lead), or 3 feet of wood or dirt blocks the spell. The message does not have to travel in a straight line. It can circumvent a barrier if there is an open path between you and the subject, and the path's entire length lies within the spell's range. The creatures that receive the message can whisper a reply that you hear. The spell transmits sound, not meaning; it doesn't transcend language barriers. To speak a message, you must mouth the words and whisper.

So, I'm wary to RP Colenso for you. Only because YOU know how he behaves. How he acts. I can, if that would make it easier on you. But I've never been a fan of having a GM control my "pets" so, I leave that entirely up to you.
As for what he remembers. Same situation as the rest of yous guys. The only difference being that the two of you can feel the connection between the both of you. Plus, like, he is your shadow.
Zylah Nightbloom |
That's cool. I'm certainly not saying I want you to do that, but I like to make sure that everyone is on the same page.
Honestly, I really don't have much to go with for his personality, but I have some ideas regarding their relationship and how it might appear to the others.
Just let me know if I overstep my bounds.
Zylah Nightbloom |
I guess the only other question I have is how aware are we regarding our abilities, especially spells and such.
Zylah Nightbloom |
Forgot about the limited distance for the Shade. Also, I can't seem to move either of the icons on the map. :p
Edit: Wishing now that I'd taken Dancing Darkness as one of my spells. Guess I need to start keeping a wishlist. :p
Eldako |
Hey chapel , could you put the link to the furnace room at the top of the page for quick access (you would simply add it to your discription )or on the campaign tab later on it will get harder to find the links if they are not consolidated somewhere. Thank you.
Zylah Nightbloom |
Hehe... I was wondering the same thing, but didn't want to be 'that guy'. :p
Zylah Nightbloom |
Weakening Touch (Su): A shade’s slam attack causes its victim to take a –2 penalty to Strength for 1 round. As a standard action, a shade in incorporeal form can deliver the penalty as a touch attack. This penalty does not stack with itself. This is a negative energy effect.
Guess if I actually read it properly, that would have been obvious.
Speaking of obvious, turns out I'm an idiot.
Now that I've looked at it closer, this whole Bonded Mind feat chain that I was planning on taking is a completely moot point and useless, because they already have all the abilities that would be granted by the feats (including communication, though it doesn't specify telepathic).
Since this is the case, do you mind if I modify the character sheets with different feats? I'll make sure that it doesn't take effect until after this combat.
I can let you know of the proposed exchanges before hand, if you prefer, but it's nothing crazy.
Zylah Nightbloom |
Cool. I'll make the changes when I get home, but I won't apply it until after we're done with this fight. :)
Zylah Nightbloom |
That's fair. ;)
Colenso got some good hits in there.
Zylah Nightbloom |
That will end combat. @Eldako/Sebastian: feel free to go ahead and make the rolls, I would still like to know if your characters have potential to be cool.
Let's be honest. This is a horror/suspense-style game. No one is ever really cool, just potential meat. :p
Zylah Nightbloom |
Lol... okay. *brood*
I just got to thinking about various movies I'd seen, and could think of much in the way of 'cool' moments from the main characters. Usually just a lot of panicking and flailing about.
But this is Pathfinder. Coolness must abide. Thus sayeth The Dude. :).
*Dripping with sarcasm and sillines.*
Eldako |
The funny part is I made Eldako to be a strong fighter type, but after I started RPing him I just didn't see him doing that sort of stuff. (Running into battle and hand to hand combat.) Its very good that Zylah has the shade. :P
By the way Was our roll for the equipment that we started off doing what we found in the pile, or is everything in the pile?
Kayalenta Noack |
Guys and Gals,
My wife's grandmother is being admitted to the hospital and I have to travel tonight to help take care of things. We do not have good internet up there so my responses will be delayed or non-existent. Sorry for the continued delays.
Zylah Nightbloom |
@Eldako - Yeah, he's doing pretty good, so far. The shade is certainly more bodyguard, but eventually, I think, the two of them may be a strong combination. Looking forward to seeing how the whole group meshes together.
@Kayalenta - No worries. Take care of family, and be safe.
Zylah Nightbloom |
Just a quick update, I made the changes to my character sheet to account for the Feat blunder that I mentioned before.
For the record, I took Eclipsed Spell for Zylah, and Weapon Finesse for Colenso.
GM Chapel |
Going forward, whenever we are in an encounter, I think it might make things easier if everyone puts the round # and their initiative count at the top of each post in OOC.
So it would be something like:
Round 1: Initiative 8Seeing the woman rushing towards the man on the table, the half-elf understands that running away isn't an option. Dammit he swears in his own head, then turns to his goddess for help: Desna, grant your child a bit of luck, so we can all leave this nightmare. He then tries to disarm the doctor-thing, both to render it less dangerous and to gain a weapon for defense.
Zylah Nightbloom |
I'm good with that. So does that mean that we roll initiative ourselves? Or do we leave that to you?
Zylah Nightbloom |
Fair 'nuff. :)
Zylah Nightbloom |
Glad to see that you're okay. Hope everything is well with the family.
Zylah Nightbloom |
So, should we have someone specifically who keeps track of loot, or are we going to make it a group effort? Or is GM Chapel going to do that.
Good thing to have all this stuff discussed among the group, so that it doesn't become an issue going forward.
The other question would be, do we want to provide loot to party members on an 'as needed' basis? Or shall we do a 'purchase' system, where items are taken out of that member's share of the loot?
EDIT: In the case of Zylah, she won't need a lot, other than some typical caster-type items, and maybe a ring or something for her Shade. So, I'm good with either method, but would probably lean a bit more towards the former method.
GM Chapel |
I do not mind keeping track of the loot if that is what everyone would prefer. If someone would like to be treasurer I won't stop them.
The way I've always handled the divvying of loot was to have everything be a shared pool. If someone wants something specific they can say so. Otherwise it is part of the shared funds.
I do ask that we keep track of who is carrying what. I've had instances in the past where suddenly everyone was holding the exact item they needed at the exact time they needed.
Kayalenta Noack |
Glad to have you back!
There is a link to a loot sheet under the title of the campaign. Everyone has access to this.
Whoops, missed that one. Thanks.
Also, I agree we should try to make sure we track who is carrying what. I will do my best to do so myself. Thanks.
