lol yup, something Dale should have thought of as well. We all nailed those rolls for sure.
Let's see how we do in a combat one I guess. Dale can be a bit 'wild' with his explosives.. my apologies in advance.

I'm just messing with you man.
I don't know why you would choose to do that. I am not messing with you.
You can call him 'Aroden', since that is his name, or 'the wizard', since that is also accurate.

Fair enough

The area is not difficult terrain. The lighting improves from dark to dim, when within 20ft of the gemstone.

The Overseer GM has ruled that a GM may use his or her discretion regarding the special boost to an aid token.
With that said, the table may apply the special boost it earned to an Allied Offensive Aid Token.
I haven't yet passed the Aid Token. Do you want to use it now?

Just asking out of ignorance here Quillen:
You can use power attack with a dex to damage ability? Seems so... weird.
I have a similar themed halfling rogue/swash, but more on the defensive side than the offensive side. He'll be going the route of mouser.

Not an issue, after he attacked Kahwen and became visible to everyone.

Aroden, I'm not familiar with your 'prescience ability', and I didn't see it explained on your character sheet.
Could you point me to a link for a reference for it?
Thanks.

It is the school ability of the Foresight focused arcane school (variant of the Divination arcane school and eligible for selection with School Understanding).
His exploits are School Understanding (Foresight) and Potent Magic. These function as if he is an Arcanist.
A Foresight diviner would gain Prescience 3+Int/day. An Arcanist would gain it 3+Cha. Aroden counts as an arcanist for this purpose, so 4/day.
The ability:
Prescience (Su): At the beginning of your turn, you may, as a free action, roll a single d20. At any point before your next turn, you may use the result of this roll as the result of any d20 roll you are required to make. If you do not use the d20 result before your next turn, it is lost. You can use this ability a number of times per day equal to 3 + your Intelligence modifier.

Folks, I encourage player ooc chatter, but let's try to keep most of it in the Discussion thread.
Thanks.

You can tell this is an experienced group by the RP and the builds!
(Back from a holiday weekend with the family; baby woke us up at 3am and *stayed* awake all day! Yikes!)
How old is the baby? I have a four year old and, until about 2 years ago I was operating on 4 hours of sleep or less per night.

I passed along the Aid Token, without an additional boost from the team.

No worries. I said to use it for the combat but that probably got lost. Hopefully they can put it to use.

Sorry, if I missed that. If any one of you ever want to pull the trigger on an Aid Token, just say so plainly enough for your slow-witted GM to be clear.
Sometimes a post can seem more like a suggestion looking for group consensus. That might be what I misinterpreted. I remember a suggestion or two to boost it and pass it along, too, but no one actually boosted it.
We'll do better with the next one.

IC, Kimiya would be inclined to help all the captives to safety. Mechanically, what would that require? Heal the other 12 and leave them here? Bring them with us? Do we send them out of the tapestry?
As for the mission, I think we stopped the ritual but will attempt to destroy the stone - hope someone heals me if that goes poorly :) I don't know if we can find out any more information - maybe heal the fallen duergar>

As soon as one or more of you meet or exceed the DC, I'm advancing the party through this series of challenges.
The intent is not to leave anyone out, but only to keep up a good pace. You're doing great.
So far...

Checking the number of successes, Missions 2 and 4 are lagging behind the others. Take a look and let me know if either of them appeals to you.

![]() |

Just to be clear, one of you will have to volunteer to be the primary for the Wisdom/Intelligence check. Kimiya's already put one Aid Another bonus on the board.
And Kahwen tried to help, bless his tengu heart.
And thanks for the compliments on the GMing. It's a lot more fun, when the party's this imaginative and enthusiastic.

I wanted to add on to the accolades. Other than at PAX Unplugged, almost all my play is with the same core group of players and GMs. It's been great to play with all of you and the pace has been impressive. I'm thoroughly enjoying it.

As an example of both how good GM Lorenzo is doing and how fast we're going - I'm running a table as well and they have done the same missions we have so far.
I've been copying and pasting some of Lorenzo's descriptive text (and altering as necessary.) Although I'm lazy, I'm not so lazy I'd do that if it wasn't so worthy of copying.
And they're still in the Duergar fight so we're about 2 missions ahead of them.

Just an FYI: I'll be on a one nighter camping/fishing/foraging trip until Saturday night so please bot as necessary. Dale's dice roll macros are up to date, barring any temporary buffs.
Happy cloakering.

Sorry. I was in a bit of a rush this morning, and forgot to update that line. We're just waiting on N'Aranav.

Aroden, what is the duration of your Inspiring Sword? One round?
Folks, it helps me track things, if you spell out and include pertinent buffs/effects in your attack rolls and skill checks. It's a little extra typing on your part, I know, but it helps me avoid time-consuming cross-checks with character sheets.
For example, Kahwen included the bonus from Inspiring Sword in his Acrobatics check, but I couldn't tell if the bonus was factored into his attack with his bow. I added it, giving him the benefit of the doubt and not wanting to delay things waiting for clarification.
Thanks.

Aroden, I moved you 5ft toward the chasm.
Kimiya, the cloakers dropped off the stalactites and flew toward their prey (you). Then they opened their toothy maws, ready to...
Stay tuned for Cloaker Actions in Round 2.

Ah I checked the in-game before posting assuming they were still clinging on.
Ah, nonetheless I guess I'll just keep the action Q posted/rolled even though it's sure to add more chaos to this whole thing. At least folks will hopefully get up again during the chaos and ready actions again?

Please let me know how your PCs are coping with the dim light in the cavern.
The humans Dale and Aroden are the immediate concern.
