This is the Discussion thread.
Got some questions? Want to engage in some out-of-character (ooc) banter with the GM or the other players? Post all that here in the Discussion thread.
For players new to play-by-post PFS, please check out some time-tested resources:
The Flaxseed Pathfinder Lodge
Painlord's Advanced PbP Play
Doomed Hero's Guide to PbP Gaming
GM Damo's user profile offers excellent additional guidance and tips.
This Tagline Template offers a basic setup for your own PC's PbP tagline, providing vital information at a glance. Please, modify/adapt it to your own PC's crucial needs.
Please ensure you have an updated stat block associated with your PC and any companions or familiars.
For those using Hero Lab, it's quite simple.
Under the "File" tab, select "Output Hero Statblock." In the pop-up menu, select the "BBCode" tab and click on the "Copy" button.
In your PC's Paizo profile, click on the "Edit My Profile" button. Then paste it into the "About [Your PC's Name]" block near the bottom of the page.
When you're ready, use this thread to introduce your PC to the GM and to the party. Once we've settled on the PCs in the party, you can make an in-character introduction in the Gameplay thread.
Some Basic Rules of Engagement (ROE):
OOC Text: When mistakes are made or clarifications are necessary, just let us know in the Discussion thread. Let's keep the ooc text in the gameplay thread to a minimum.
Conditions/Effects: Regarding penalties or bonuses/buffs/debuffs from conditions/effects, please, players, indicate any bonuses/penalties to attacks, damage, etc separately--to remind the GM and other players.
For example, [dice=Attack, Power Attack, Inspire Courage, Fatigued]d20-1+1-2; d8+2+1-2[/ dice].
Animal Companion/Mount/Familiar/Eidolon: Please create a separate alias for it, especially if it will act on its own. Also indicate its Perception and Initiative modifier, as well as your own, on Slide 2.
Initiative: Animal Companions/Mounts/Familiars/Eidolons will have their own Initiative results, unless the PC is mounted on the creature. They can act independently or you can opt to have you and your companion act at the same time on the lower of the two Initiative results. The one with the higher result will be considered delayed, but not flat-footed. (If mounted, the mount acts on the PC's initiative.)
Miss Chance: I prefer to roll miss chances as the GM; if you roll it, please use a d100, where a "miss" is less than or equal to the percentage chance.

Dale is here. He's currently engaged in another game for a bit longer. He'll also be leveling up to 5th at the conclusion of said game.
As far as 'who is Dale': Level 5 mindchemist (alchemist). First and foremost he's a skill/knowledge monkey with a thirst for knowledge and adventure that his physical self can't always keep up with. He tends to get himself into trouble and hopes his companions can/will bail him out of said trouble.
He's spent the bulk of his PF career in and around the Mwangii area and has the bug bites, scars, and languages to back it up. He's capable at any and every skill and thrives on fulfilling the explore and report tenets of our organization.
When it comes to combat he's a bit unreliable without all of the feats for a fully functional bomb thrower.

Kahwen reporting for duty. Also currently engaged in another game but should wrap up by Gameday.
He's a double archetyped unchained rogue - Swordmaster and Scout. Swordmaster lets him enter a trance for a set number of rounds per day where he can use a Combat Stance. Currently the only one he has is Crane which, when combined with his Acrobatics has the following effects - -2 penalty to Attack Rolls. +4 Dodge Bonus to AC when fighting defensively, + 7 for full defense.
Scout lets him apply sneak attack damage any time he charges.
He's prone to running around the battle field trying to gain flanking positions or getting room to charge.
He has Fast Getaway, which I always forget to use but lets him withdraw after a successful sneak attack and Resiliency which gives him Temporary Hit points 1 time per day when he goes below zero (which will almost assuredly happen.)
And finally, he has the glide racial ability which lets him make a fly check to simulate the effects of Feather Fall whenever he falls.
He's pretty good at all the skills you'd expect a rogue to be good at - Stealth, Perception, Disable Device, Climbing, Swimming, Acrobatics.
He is very proud of being a Pathfinder and can be fairly naive and idealistic.

Welcome, Dale and Kahwen!
I'll take a look at your character sheets and let you know if I have any questions.
Let's hope we hear from the others soon.

![]() |

Kimiya checking in. He's a nagaji sword saint samurai 6 repping the Silver Crusade and the Order of the Blue Rose. He's a (penalty free) non-lethal focused Enforcer that tries to resolve situations "peacefully" if possible. That said, he tends to do enough non-lethal damage to kill ... a lot. He primarily uses his naginata to reach out and touch foes before they're close enough to harm him.
Outside of Diplo and Intimidate, his skills leave a lot to be desired.
I'll update his sheet to 6 tonight hopefully.

![]() |

Welcome, Kimiyo!
Looks like you've been busy since you last updated your tagline. ;-)

![]() |

N'aranav is a recent addition to the Pathfinder Society, hailing from the lush jungles of the Mwangi. He is an unarmed combatant, using his brawling skills and bloodraging capabilities to move around the battlefield (including a natural climb speed) and strike hard despite his slight stature. He can augment his unarmed strikes with additional elemental damage through his blood conduit ability (magus-lite!) twice a day.

![]() |

Welcome, N'Aranav!
Now we've identified the brains of the outfit. ;-)
Please 'ninja-dot' in on the Gameplay thread, and add this session to your list of campaigns, so you'll be able to track updates.

Checking in!
I was split on which character to bring to this party but ultimately it seems I only had melee characters available in the 5-6 subtier so opted for the swashbuckler over the druid I signed up originally as!

![]() |

Checking in!
He is a wizard, he carries a longsword (and knows how to use it), and his head is full of memories that he isn't sure are his. And he thinks his name is Aroden.
The lost God of Humanity? An amnesiac possessed by a vestige? The reincarnation of a former High Priest of Aroden? An aboleth experiment of some sort? In any event, he is a Pathfinder, and trying to be a little more cosmopolitan than his memories are. The occasional "For Humanity!" battle cry comes forth, but he's not against anybody else and tries to catch himself when that happens.
His go-to tactic in combat is the divine fighting technique Iomedae's Aroden's Inspiring Sword. An at-will aura buff. He keeps a fair number of situational and problem-solving spells prepared, and a few "big guns" to use with his Arcane Reservoir. Great Knowledge skills and a few other skills as well.

![]() |

Ah for a moment I mistook you for Aroden Reborn!

Hey, everybody? You ready?
Need some info from each of you. Please reply here in the Discussion thread.
Which of the following scenarios has this PC played?
#3-12 Wonders in the Weave I
#3-14 Wonders in the Weave II
#3-20 Rats of Round Mountain I
#3-21 Temple of Empyreal Enlightenment
#3-22 Rats of Round Mountain II
#6-21 Tapestry’s Trial
#6-97 Siege of Serpent
Thanks.

I've created our slides and enabled the shared link.
Please enter your PC information.
On Slide 1, post your icon in your preferred spot in a single- and double-file standard march order.
On Slide 2, please enter your PC's admin info for the Chronicles as well as your Perception and Initiative modifiers in the pre-formatted spoilers.
If you have a day job, please roll it here in the Discussion thread.
If you're using slow progression, please let me know.

![]() |

Quillen's day job is +1PP from Fangwood Keep.
He has my GM credit for Siege of Serpents.
He's OK near the front of the marching order. I stuck him there but can imagine Kimiya also wants to be up front.

![]() |

Done. Kimiya generally tries to be up front with his reach weapon but the stellar +1 init doesn't do him any favors. Apparently, he sucks at making beer too :(
Day Job - Profession Brewer: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10

![]() |

N'aranav has not played any of those scenarios. Also, I did run this scenario at GenCon last year, so I will let the rest of the party make all the choices.

![]() |

N'aranav, as long as you're acting in-character, feel free to express your thoughts and recommendations to the rest of the team. Just avoid spoilers.
What we'd like to avoid is analysis-paralysis and unnecessary delays in play.
There's usually a player or two who is slower than the rest of the team to post or surprises everyone by being absent once or twice during the scenario.
Anything anyone can do to maintain a good, fun pace is appreciated.

Pathfinders, the organizers of PbP Gameday VIII have announced that we will have to postpone Gameday VIII by 2 weeks.
The new dates for Gameday are 09 September 2019 - 17 November 2019.
We apologize for the inconvenience.

Dale hasn't played personally in any of those scenarios. I have personally played 3-21.
Day Job: Craft Alchemy, create bonus, crafter's fortune: 10 + 12 + 5 + 5 = 32 75g
Sorry to cut things so close, Dale just now received his chronicle and leveled up this morning. Happy to be aboard!

Note: We officially begin Gameday at Midnight UTC on September 9.
So what, you ask?
Please check in as soon as possible after 5pm Pacific Standard Time on 8 September for my first post, which will include a bunch of skill checks. We'll only have about 24 hours before we advance to the next phase of the scenario, so please include the called-for skill checks in your posts right away. That'll ensure we get off to a great start.

![]() |

Consolidated the benefits you've earned on Slide 4.
Still waiting for a couple of PCs to select their 1st- or 2nd-level potions.

![]() |

Cool. Don't forget the other benefits you earned, including the potion of CSW each of you got.
Some of them are limited-use.

![]() |

It's been about 9 hours since I posted your options and asked for your preferred mission and an alternate.
Thanks to Aroden and Kahwen for their posts.
Aroden - #6, alternate #1
Kahwen - #5, alternate #2
I had said we'd go with a Rule of Three, but I'm amending that to the standard Rule of Two, in order to maintain a quicker pace.
If you can manage it, please check the Gameplay thread frequently and post as often as you can. Unlike normal scenarios, Specials have a time constraint.

Passing To: GM Lorenzo
Boost: Allied Offensive (+1d8)
Boosted By: Urktar (Half-Orc Barbarian 5/Fighter 1)

Slide 3 lists and explains all the aid tokens.
Let's not sit on these. If the team has no use for it right now, you can boost it and pass it to another table.
If you ever feel the need for one, let me know, and I'll dial 9-1-1 on the GM Campaign thread.
