I apologize for my error. Kimiya and his naginata looked scary, so the cloaker went after the vanaran, instead, and N'Aranav got off his readied attack.

So, the readied attack wouldn't work, but the good news is Kimiya's second attack hit and the Intimidate check to demoralize the cloaker succeeded as well.

How long will the shaken condition last?

That makes more sense :)

It comes from Enforcer. One round per damage dealt.

Benefit: Whenever you deal nonlethal damage with a melee weapon, you can make an Intimidate check to demoralize your target as a free action. If you are successful, the target is shaken for a number of rounds equal to the damage dealt. If your attack was a critical hit, your target is frightened for 1 round with a successful Intimidate check, as well as being shaken for a number of rounds equal to the damage dealt.

Stunned causes you to drop what you're holding. Falling prone normally doesn't. You've got your sword in hand.

Hello!!

You have now ***Aid token #8!!!

Good luck, pathfinders!!

Grand Lodge

The Hao Jin Cataclysm | Gallows of Madness

Please take a look at the Aid Token Reference slide.

You've got access to 'special boosts' for the Timely Inspiration Aid, Coordinated Maneuvers Aid, and Burst of Healing Aid tokens.

Timely Inspiration might help end this combat quicker.

To keep things simple and avoid confusion, if you'd like to use it, say so explicitly.

If you'd like to boost and can do so, good and do that.

If you'd prefer to pass it along, let me know here in the Discussion thread.

Kahwen, can you add your CMD to your tagline?
Thanks.

Dale activates timely inspiration so we can finish this off.

+2 hit and damage ala a bard's inspiration for 3 rounds.

The unnerved affects damage as well so that's a wash too. Not sure if it affects EA?

I'm of almost no help here. I was hoping for diplo. My bluff sucks as does my will and I don't have any of the others. I can try another attempt but if anyone has better options, say the word.

What did you say was the time between missions? An hour? If so my heroism is defunct at the moment.

Table GM Instructions, p. 10: "For tracking spell durations, assume that each mission takes about 1 hour to complete and that it takes 10 minutes to travel between locations."

And spellcasting services are available between missions, for those who might be interested.

Grand Lodge

The Hao Jin Cataclysm | Gallows of Madness

After this mission, there are three optional encounters the team can take on and earn additional successes. That would likely help the overall House achieve our objectives, if other tables are struggling.

No need to make the call just yet, and you have the option to do none, one, two, or all of them.

I'd be happy to do some extra missions after this. Assuming we don't have to fight more of these, yikes!

That being said.. please oh please melee try to avoid getting yourselves in a pinch. Those undead abilities are nasty, especially that mummy rot. Dale will be dropping bombs and hoping the RNG gods are kind to his rolls.

Aroden,
Is 'obey' the command you're giving the mummy? Nothing wrong with that, but it would seem to give the mummy a great deal of flexibility...

No, that's just flavor for casting the spell. If it works, the mummy obeys me for 6 days and I'll probably just send it far away.

Aroden wrote:
Is it an action to command the mummy once the spell takes effect? Aroden would like to command it to walk away.

Command Undead spell description:
This spell allows you a degree of control over an undead creature. If the subject is intelligent, it perceives your words and actions favorably (treat its attitude as friendly). It will not attack you while the spell lasts. You can give the subject orders, but you must win an opposed Charisma check to convince it to do anything it wouldn’t ordinarily do. Retries are not allowed. An intelligent commanded undead never obeys suicidal or obviously harmful orders, but it might be convinced that something very dangerous is worth doing.

A nonintelligent undead creature gets no saving throw against this spell. When you control a mindless being, you can communicate only basic commands, such as “come here,” “go there,” “fight,” “stand still,” and so on. Nonintelligent undead won’t resist suicidal or obviously harmful orders.
Any act by you or your apparent allies that threatens the commanded undead (regardless of its Intelligence) breaks the spell.
Your commands are not telepathic. The undead creature must be able to hear you.

This is why I asked if 'obey' was the command you were giving it. So, I had it just stand in place waiting for some other instruction.

The mummy perceives your words and actions favorably, and its attitude is friendly toward you. (That doesn't include your allies.)

On your turn, you can give the mummy orders, but you must win an opposed Charisma check to convince it to do anything it wouldn’t ordinarily do. I think that's a Standard Action. (If you can find something that states otherwise, let me know.)

Note: Any act by you or your allies that threatens the mummy breaks the spell.

To clarify, each PC can attempt to unravel the mystery of each ward. Only Aroden, so far, has attempted all three.

Instead of making your own check, you may instead elect to Aid Another, as well.

Congratulations, all. You've successfully completed all six of the tasks in Part 2.

The Overseer GM has asked that tables not start anything new.

Please continue to check in, so we can jump right back into play, as soon as the Overseer GM gives us the green light.

*EDIT* Don't forget about that pesky negative level. You do have access to spellcasting services.

So removing a temporary negative level... looking at the quick guide:

Is it 380g or 2PP since its not a permanent negative level? If you are feeling lucky you can always just ride it out and hope to make the fort save for it to go away naturally in 24hrs.

Am I correct in these GM?

Grand Lodge

The Hao Jin Cataclysm | Gallows of Madness

Re the Scale Ward, I could find no requirement to use a disguise kit.

Kimiya described using materials available to disguise himself, and his attempt met or exceeded the DC of the check.

Grand Lodge

The Hao Jin Cataclysm | Gallows of Madness

The Overseer GM has fast-forwarded the schedule. Part 3 will begin sometime tomorrow.

Please stay tuned.

Grand Lodge

The Hao Jin Cataclysm | Gallows of Madness

According to the Roleplaying Guild Guide, p. 22, restoration to remove a temporary negative level costs 2PP.

The spellcasting services cost is Caster Level (7) x Spell Level (4) x 10gp + Cost of Material Component (diamond dust worth 100gp) = 380gp.

So ~half a CLW wand. Since most of Kimiya's levels are from campaign chronicles, he has more than enough gold. Just let me know how much is needed.

Just me know which you prefer to spend, PP or gp.

Kimiya, are you paying for those services for N'Aranav? Just need to know, so I can annotate the expenditure on the appropriate Chronicle(s).

The gold price seems more favorable. I will pay whatever is left after the gracious contributions (no need to fully front for it, Kimiya).

I was originally going to let it ride and trust my fort save (and reroll +5 if that failed), but 380 is not that pricey.

Lol that was lower than I expected.

1d380 ⇒ 63

There we go - 145g :)

Part 1, too. I vote that we use 1 per encounter, although, I don't particularly have a suggestion on how we decide which one we use.

I will say - we might as well use the one that gives us a boost on in initiative against undead the first time we encounter them.

Aroden wrote:
I'm going to use our Tales from the Tapestry bonus (once per encounter) on this check.

Kimiya achieved the hard DC for the check. The actual text for Tales from the Tapestry is:

Easy: The PCs recall several stories of Pathfinder agents adventuring in the tapestry and dealing with all manner of different peoples and creatures, from ratfolk and lizardfolk to ancient mummies and manipulative demons. Each time the PCs attempt a Knowledge check to identify a creature in the tapestry, one PC can choose to gain a +2 bonus on the check.
Average: Once during the scenario, each PC can roll twice and take the better result instead of gaining a +2 bonus.
Hard: Instead of rolling the Knowledge check twice to identify the creature (see above), the PC can treat their result as they had rolled a 20. Alternatively, the PC may gain the benefits of the Average result while treating the Knowledge skill as trained.
