Hey Everyone,
I have some unfortunate news. I regret to inform you all that we will have to postpone Gameday VIII by 2 weeks.
This would place our new dates for Gameday at: 09 Sept 2019 - 17 Nov 2019
WHAT IS GOING ON? WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS?
As most of you are aware, the majority of the GM’s have not received their scenario support for the Convention to include a good portion of the Specials. With Tonya occupied by other duties this weekend, we realized as a team that we are very unlikely to see the remainder of scenario support drop by Monday the 26th. Multiple avenues were discussed and what seems to be the best solution is to push Gameday back by two weeks. This will allow enough time for the GM’s to receive their scenarios and prep them.
BUT WHAT IF WE ALREADY HAVE OUR SCENARIOS, CAN WE START THEM?
Please hold off until the new start date to be able to eligible for your boon rewards. I understand this is a large inconvenience, we are doing everything we can to make this work. Part of that is to have everyone one the same start / end times rather than scattered.
We apologize for the inconvenience that this may cause, but we want all our GMs to have a chance to shine.
HOW DO I NOTIFY MY PLAYERS?
Go ahead and post the news to your tables. Feel free to copy this email if you wish. We will be posting notices in all the PBP lodges as well as the Gameday VIII Announcement page.
I know this is not what we hoped to do, and I’m sorry. Thank you for understanding that we’re scrambling to fix this.
If you have any other questions please don’t be afraid to ask.
-Tyranius

Everyone: please check in on the gameplay thread and introduce yourselves. All of you are sitting at the same table in the Grand Hall.

GM PDK |

Aid Tokens
In this event, you can use an Aid Token to gain one of the benefits below. At the end of an encounter in which the token was used, pass it to another table that does not have an Aid Token. If you don’t need the token, you can pass it to another table without using it.
Before passing the token, you can perform a particular action to boost the effect. You can only attempt an action to boost an aid token once before passing it. Each mission during Part 2 unlocks a special boost.
GM Note: I encourage us to use the tokens within 48 hours of receiving it. If we don't use it by then, I'll simply pass the token along to another party.
An NPC ally aids your attack, increasing the damage dealt on one attack by the following amount: 2d8 in Subtiers 7–8. In addition, after the attack, characters attacking the target are considered to be flanking it until the beginning of the attacker’s next turn.
To Boost: Succeed at an attack roll against an AC equal to the difficulty of an Average skill check.
Boosted Effect: Increase the damage dealt by 1d8. Write Allied Offensive (+1d8) on the Aid Token.
Special Boost: Once during the adventure, a table that has completed a particular mission can automatically boost this Aid Token and increase the damage dealt by 2d8. Write Allied Offensive (+2d8) on the Aid Token.
An NPC ally heals all of the PCs for 3d6 points of damage in Subtier 7–8.
To Boost: Expend one use of channel positive energy or cast one spell with the (healing) descriptor with a spell level greater than or equal to 4. A PC must cast this spell, not simply activate a magic item.
Boosted Effect: Increase the healing by 2d6.
Special Boost: Once during the adventure, a table that has completed a particular mission can boost this Aid Token without expending resources.
An NPC ally assists a PC in performing a combat maneuver. The PC must choose to use this Aid Token before rolling; they may roll twice and take the better result.
To Boost: Succeed at a combat maneuver check against a CMD equal to an Average skill check.
Boosted Effect: The combat maneuver check gains a +2 bonus. Write Coordinated Maneuvers (+2) on the Aid Token.
Special Boost: Once during the adventure, a table that has completed a particular mission can automatically boost this Aid Token and increase the bonus to +4. Write Coordinated Maneuvers (+4) on the Aid Token.
Gain the benefits of a beneficial spell cast by an ally as listed on the Aid Token.
To Boost: Cast one of the following spells: lesser restoration, neutralize poison, remove curse, or remove disease. Only these spells may be granted. Write Provide Spellcasting, the spell granted, and the caster level on the Aid Token.
Special Boost: Once during the adventure, a table that has completed a particular mission can increase the spell’s caster level by 4 when boosting this Aid Token.
Gain the benefit of a Knowledge check or a Spellcraft check to identify a magical item; the type and difficulty (Easy, Average, or Hard) depend on the table granting the benefit.
To Boost: Succeed at a Knowledge check of your choice. Write Share Knowledge on the Aid Token, noting the type of the check and the difficulty reached (Easy, Average, or Hard).
Special Boost: Once during the adventure, a table that has completed a particular mission can automatically grant a success on a Hard skill check when boosting this token.
An NPC ally provides the effects of a bard’s inspire courage bardic performance for 3 rounds, with +2 bonus in Subtiers 7–8.
To Boost: Expend 3 rounds of bardic performance or a similar ability.
Boosted Effect: Increase the bonus by 1. Write Timely Inspiration on the Aid Token.
Special Boost: Once during the adventure, a table that has completed a particular mission can extend the duration of the boost to 6 rounds. Write Timely Inspiration (6 rounds) on the Aid Token.

We appear to be missing VampByDay and Early Grey (Player Name: Morten F and Character Name: Earl Grey). I will post once more to Flaxseed but if no answer, do you prefer recruitment or adjusting table to 4 players? (assuming the latter is possible).

GM PDK |

Yes, PM'ed and called them on Flaxseed. I will wait another hour and recruit two new players. I've been instructed to top up as we cannot adjust this scenario to 4 players. We need 6 players for this.

![]() |

Honestly, I'd say recruitment at this point is too late since this is a special and giving the two a chance to get here and then attempting to recruit would really put us all behind the curve, but I don't know how many days are allotted for each stage.
Hopefully both will show still but I expect we will end up with at least one of them and can play with five fine.

GM PDK |

Recruitment has been opened to replace both players. (I even went online on Discord to track them, and one of them was showing online as 'playing world of warcraft' but wouldn't answer the messages, so I consider their spot up for graps if they don't want them...)

GM PDK |

You're in! focus on gameplay first and you can provide stats/pfs creds later. Welcome!

![]() |

Okay, sorry, For the delay, this is VampByDay. my number is 132475-21
My character is a level 8 Psychic (Someone said casters would not go amiss and this is the most castery person I have.) If I am still in. I am currently updating my character to level 8 and buying items.

GM PDK |

Ok we have 6 players! excellent! I will move the action to Part 2 shortly.
In the meantime, I highly recommend one of you to boost the Aid Token! we will then immediately pass it to another table that has already begun Part 2! :)

GM PDK |

Your table has been selected to begin the scenario with an Aid Token!
Passing To: Grandmaster TOZ
Boost: Share Knowledge Arcana (Hard)
Boosted By:Charlotte of the Stage

GM PDK |

Check out Slide 2 of the 'Maps and Slides' link at the top left of the page or under my avatar, which lists all the boons and potions you uncovered in Part 1.

GM PDK |

Also since we have newcomers I will ask again if any of you have played in any of these scenarios with this character?
(So far I have Theo for Tapestry's Toil)

![]() |

Oops, didn’t see the requested information. I’ll fill in all the information as soon as I get home and have access to all my chronicle sheets. But I am 90% sure I have done at least one of the lizardfolk tapestry mission with this character.

GM PDK |

Would you rather I have Fairbeaks on a separate init, or on Theo's?
Its only a 1 point difference.
Same initiative; use the best of the two. The companion has the 'link' feature yes?

GM PDK |

OK! Is just the default AC, nothing too fancy going on there. (so yes, Link)
Though, for information's sake, he does have the Narrow Frame feat, so can more easily navigate narrow passages.
Although it does not implicitly say so in the feat, I will also consider the AC unrestricted in regards to making a charge if it does so through a 5-foot wide corridor. You'll still have to pay the movement cost but I will not consider it a speed reduction. You can also use the center of any of its four squares for the purpose of drawing a line for your charge, and you consider the AC to be a 5'x5' square moving along that line for the purposes of figuring out if something blocks it.

![]() |

Also since we have newcomers I will ask again if any of you have played in any of these scenarios with this character?
(So far I have Theo for Tapestry's Toil)
I also have credit for Tapestry's Toil, although I don't remember it off hand lol

1 person marked this as a favorite. |

PFS#: 132475-21
Faction: Liberty's Edge
Chronicle Number: This one will be 22
Starting GP: 3654
Starting XP:21
Initial Prestige: 39
Initial Fame: 41
Total GP and PP costs for any equipment you purchased in this scenario.
Day Job:Take ten for 27
Progression Speed (Optional, I'll assume it's normal speed)
Initiative Bonus: +1
Perception Bonus: +12
Sense Motive Bonus: +0
I guess I don't have any of the chronicles mentioned above. I could have sworn I played the lizardman scenario with this character.

![]() |

Always talk, then stab, not the other way around! I approve of this plan.

![]() |

I like that wording better Rallas, rhyming always impresses a bard. :P
My vote is for Charlotte to take the first four attempts, skipping the sense motive option and then Nyloth can hop in for the fifth attempt using their Sense Motive.
Or Charlotte to take the first three, skipping Diplo & S.M. and Nyloth grabbing the last two with those skills. Might split it up a bit more. /shrug
However we do it, speed to get through this challenge is the goal imo.
