The quasit shifts away from the eagle (5' step) and goes invisible. With heavy breathing both Lavanor and Isabella come crashing into the room (double move). Isabella has the presence of mind to push the door to as she steps in.

Zandril sighs as the quasit goes invisible, then mumbles under his breath, "Here goes nothing." He drops his bow, then runs and jumps at the space in which the quasit went invisible and attempts to grapple the tiny invisible creature.

Both the quasit and Zandril are excessively shocked. The unexpected maneuver totally takes her by surprise. Then, to Zandril's surprise, his hands grasp onto a small body and drag her down to the ground with him where he crashes to the tiles with the fall partially broken by the water..

The quasit does not try to scramble free but instead tears into Zandril with tooth and claw becoming visible. A tiny dagger clatters to the ground. Then the water begins to show blood, Zandril's in this case.

As the creature strikes out and the poison courses through his veins, his light demeanor fades and he mearly growls at the creature in his hands and attempts to pin the creature under the water.

I have Zandril at 12 hp. He had 14 hp before the attack he took 1 point from each attack. 1 from the first attack and the crit would be 2d4-1 total which comes out to 1.

Trunt moves into the water to flank with Runt, dropping his crossbow and pulling a dagger to plunge at the wriggling demon.

The last 10 to hit rolls from us have been 10 or less. It's not just you Isabella. We are all sharing in the fun. At least Trunt got that one good shot in. I was hoping I would not have to cast that bless, but that +1 is looking mighty nice about now.

With her pinned she has an AC of 13. That means the bird hit once, Trunt hit once and Lavanor hit. After Trunt slips in the last attack the Quasit stops struggling. Does Zandril pull her up out of the water or just drown her?

As much as he wants to drown her at this point, Zandril pulls the quasit up out of the water and ties her up. He then stands up and walks slowly up the stairs, back to get his bow. Calming down and recollecting his thoughts.

With the battle finally over, Lavanor walks over to pick up his sword and takes a few moments to catch his breath after so much running. He takes a closer inspection of the side room he momentarily ran into and then checks the opposite side door. Lastly, he checks the dias.

Yea, well, Runt is not so trusting that the squirmy thing is not going to slip his ties and start the whole thing all over again. So she stands there and watches as it's wounds heal. When it gets to looking like they have healed enough, she creates some new wounds.

Lavanor finds the two side doors lead to small rooms. Each room appears to have been for storage. There are piles of dark dust on the ground, likely the remains of cloth. There are also several pottery bowls. In each closet there is a ceremonial dagger with a ruby in the hilt. A quick detect magic shows the daggers have a simple preservation dweomer on them.
Meanwhile, once the quasit wakes from her injuries and begins to heal, Runt periodically jabs her with a dagger to keep her less than healthy.

"I can't keep doing this all day, you know. Well, I could, but I don't want to. What do we do with this thing? If we let it heal it will just escape it's bonds and start causing mischief all over again."

Isabella flips her cold iron dagger around and delivers the coup de grace.
"It's a fiend. Its existence isn't even tied to our world. It's made of malevolent energy and can't do anything but try to hurt and mislead us anyway. Even if we were to question it, we couldn't trust anything that it would say."

Zandril watches from above and shrugs as the cleric slits the demon's throat. "I'm gonna want my rope back." He then looks over the alter carefully for anything of interest.

Isabella dutifully coils up the rope and then passes it back to Zandril.
"Somewhere in the Outer Planes it's already reforming into a new body," she says. "But at least it won't harass us any further here."

Gathering up his weapons, which seem to have scattered across the room, Camil wipes his brow. That was a nasty little thing, good work everyone. It was saying something about the mothers sanctum, does anyone know what it was talking about? Nodding at Isabelle’s quick work of the downed monster Camil nods at her when she rises.

The raise dais, if altar it is, has nothing on it other than the orange pool which bubbles as if at a slow boil. It glows and like a light to a moth somehow calls on those around it to enter. Not an irresistible pull but noticeable.

Zandril pulls back from the orange pool and walks back down the stairs.
He takes his rope back from Isabella, "Thanks."
He adjusts his hat, takes a breath, and smiles bringing back his normal jovial demeanor, "So, what did we find. Has anyone checked the fountain for anything of value, possibly magical? That orange pool up there is awfully strange."
Was the orange pool where the sinspawn came out of?

"I suspect the 'mother's sanctum' was a reference to Lamashtu, the Mother of Monsters. Certainly that fits the motif of the creature conjuring other monsters to fight for it," explains Isabella uncomfortably. She wipes down her cold iron dagger and sheathes it again, then takes up her heavy falchion once more.

Upon finding out it has transmutation magic, she halts. Abruptly. Having spent her whole life as a dwarf, a human dwarf, she has seen worse. And if this IS a temple of Lamashtu, she could end up a goblin. Though she appreciates irony, not at her expense. She has a great idea, though it won't tell if it turns anyone into a goblin.
"Say, if we find any goblins I say we toss one in the fountain to see what it does."

Lavanor chuckles at Runt's suggestion. "Sure, I don't have a problem with that. Based on the activity down here it appears someone has been using this area for some time. We need to find out who so we can clear this area out for the town's safety. Zandril, that creature got you pretty good. You need some healing before we move on?"
Once the group is ready, Lavanor returns to the room with the statue to see what's behind the door to the north.
