Bemmer's face betrays a moment of uncertainty, but he then steels himself. Yes, you may

Once the woman exits the circle Ironshanks relaxes his grip on Kalkamedes to see exactly what he'll do (Not to mention swap back his axe from Bemmer) "Don't get too cozy with my axe kid. This thing is like part of my family!" He inspects the blade after the work verses the stone.

The Midnight Mirror

Kalkamedes silently follows the ghaele as she steps out of the circle. She turns to him and says, "Poor fellow, I had no idea my telepathic call would catch someone in their sleep. It is good that he has friends to watch out for him." She closes her eyes, and Kalkamedes lies down on the floor and begins snoring.

"Once he is properly rested, he should be fine."

With that she turns to Bemmer and places a hand on either shoulder. She concentrates, and the air between the two of them shimmers slightly.

Bemmer:
You have been granted the ability to cast Banishment at CL 13. Feel free to roleplay out sending the "gnome" back where he came from. :-)

Bemmer moves to the other circle, the gnome's circle, passing Ironshanks his axe as he goes past. Bemmer raises his warhammer to eye level and takes a moment to calm his breathing and gather his thoughts.

There's a passage I have memorized from Hammer and Tongs: The Forging of Metal and Other Good Works. The path of the righteous dwarf is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil. Blessed is he who, in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of the darkness, for he is truly his brother’s keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy My brothers. And you will know I am the Father of Creation when I lay My vengeance upon you.

With that he unleashes a spell at the gnome as he swings his warhammer to strike the earth.

The Midnight Mirror

Bemmer slams his warhammer to the ground. When it hits, a bright, pure white light flashes from it to the gnome. For a brief moment, the demon's true form is revealed and it screams, "I will destroy you all! I will be back, and this world will SUFFER!!!!!"

Then the light reaches an intensity that makes you all close your eyes. When you can see again, the demon is gone.

The azata smiles and says, "Thank you, friend. You have done a great service to your world, as well as to me personally. All of you have. In the future, if you have need of aid that I can provide, call my name, Sulianna the Luninescent, and I will be there."

She then departs for Elysium, leaving you to collect your sleeping charge and return home. Once again, you hear the disembodied voice as it says, "Well, I guess you lot aren't totally incompetent. Do you think you can get him home safely?"

Will he walk there himself in his sleeping state or do we need to carry him? Perhaps we should just sit and wait here for him to awake. Either way we managed to get him this far. The return trip should be fine.

The Midnight Mirror

Kalkamedes seems to be sleeping peacefully now, no longer sleepwalking. You'll either have to carry him or wake him, or wait until he wakes up naturally.

"Well done Bemmer! We should probably rest a little ourselves before heading back."

Bemmer settles himself with his back to a wall. It is eerie being this close to a dragon corpse but Bemmer is too tired to care as he slumps and dozes.

Don't mind how we wake him or if we let him wake himself.

The Midnight Mirror

You wait out the night in the cave, taking turns watching for trouble, but none comes. Eventually all of you wake, including Kalkamedes. He sees that you have his sword, and picks it up. Drawing it from its sheath, he says to it, "Gamin! What is going on here? Who are these people?"

The sword responds in a very familiar voice, "Some losers that Lady Sheila found to follow you while you were sleepwalking to see where you went. Turns out you were being called by an azata to save the world from a glabrezu! See, I told you that you were still worthy!"

"Take a nap you say? Now that's somethin' I can get along with, armor or not." He rotates watches and does lots of complaining of a stiff neck for his trouble.

----

"Ahh, yer awake sleepin' beauty. Glad I won't hafta be leadin' ya like a lost pup no more." He pulls his hand out of his gauntlet and offers a handshake and an introduction "Name's Ironshanks. Ironshanks Magee." He pulls out his wayfinder afterwards to give the man a bit more ease.

Bemmer ignres the voice calling them "losers". I am Bemmer. Are you ready to return home, or would you like some time?

The Exchange

Wraith nods toward Kalkemedes, but offers no other introduction.

The Midnight Mirror

As you begin the trek back to his home, Kalkamedes asks for an explanation of what happened. When you arrive, Sheila is relieved to see her friend has recovered, and offers you heartfelt thanks for your work.

Despite its initial attitude toward you all, the talking sword Gamin also thanks you. After a conversation with Kalkamedes, the sword asks if any of you would care to take him out on your adventures, as the former paladin expresses no interest in returning to his adventuring ways.

"A Dwarf with a longsword? I think my Clan would disown me ha!" He holds his stomach as the roar of laughter rolls out. "Mebe you can tag along with one of those two humans, they tend ta use swords n the like."

While he's usually a bit rough around the edges, you can tell Ironshanks is glad to have the man back to normal and without too much extra wear and tear. "Givin' up the day job eh buddy? You seem a bit young to retire, what's in yer near future besides less sleep?"

Hannar smiles and says.."Wielding a sword is not my lot in life, but I'm sure you will find a new owner soon enough."
