Alright Pathfinders, before we begin our journey, let's get some administrative and basics out of the way. First of all, I'll need your Pathfinder Information
Name: (You'd like on your chronicle sheet)
Character Name:
PFS ID and character number:
Faction:
Day job Roll:
Any unusual information about your character:
Ensure your character sheet is linked or documented in your player profile for reference.
Ensure your character has a header that includes basic information like race, class, levels, HP, ACs, Saves, Perception Mod, and (optional but ideal) resource like spells and ability trackers.
I'm going off the basis that you've read some form of PBP and understand how it works, but if any of this has confused you and if you are clueless about it, please let me know and i'll gladly guide you through it.
Sulana |
Name: Ever_Anon
Character Name: Sulana Romanesco
PFS ID: 2364939
Character number: 2364939-1
Faction: Grand Lodge
Day job Roll: Don't get one; Sulana doesn't have any ranks in the required skills
Any unusual information about your character: I don't think there is any.
If there's any information missing from my player profile, just let me know and I'll fix it. Thanks again for running this for us!

I'll get my information on here when I get home. I'm on the road today. Also, looking at our characters, I notice we are rogue heavy with little in the way of healing. Should I switch one of my first level spells to clw? What do you guys think? Along those lines, I was reading about a "welcome to pfs" boon that could grant me a 5 charge clw wand for being a first time player. You know anything about that? Sorry to jump right in with questions, but it was weighing on me.
Aulurius |
Name: Jacob Scott
Character Name: Aulurius
PFS ID and character number: 2362167-2
Faction: Concordance
Day job Roll: Profession(Herbalist): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (18) + 8 = 26
Any unusual information about your character: Aulurius has a pet white tiger named Huntress. For spell preparation, Aulurius rises early and meditates outdoors or near a window or door each morning. His prepared spells at the beginning of this adventure are listed in his character sheet.
If I've missed anything, anyone feel free to point it out.

I have one cast prepared in my first level slot. If you don't feel that's enough, go for it.
Bahram al-Urgug "Jack" |
Name: Matt Huffman (assuming real name goes here)
Character Name: Bahram Al-Urgug
PFS ID:340520
Character number: 340520-3
Faction: Scarab Sages
Day job Roll: I have appraisal, but not the "profession" skill. I'm guessing this excludes me from a day job roll?
Extra information; Bahram is not %100 dedicated to his faction, or anything else as of yet. He is looking for a place, or a group, to belong to. He may be willing to switch factions.
GM Batpony |
Axe- you can make a post with the character into the gameplay thread, tab on top of this page. That way the game will show up in your campaign tracker. Paizo.com/people/yourusername/campaigns
mahuffma - Do remind me of the welcome to PFS boon, it’s distributed at the end of session so you won’t have the benefit of it for this game unfortunately.
Bahram- that excludes your from the day job roll indeed.
Tanbu Yull |
Name: Wydroe
Character Name: Tanbu Yull
PFS#:165069-8
Faction: Grand Lodge
Day Job: craft(Alchemy): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25
Tanbu is pretty straight forward. He two weapon fights with 2 short swords and uses a short bow at range.
I appreciate the opportunity. As I mentioned I have had a few misses trying to play this scenario. Hope I am not too late. I just saw the names on the Flaxseed board.
Gariath |
Name: Gabriel Wert
Character Name: Gariath
PFS#: 343343
Character#: 343343-002
Faction: The Exchange
Day Job: N/A
Gariath is also straight forward, and also has two weapon fighting, favoring a kukri and dagger. He likes to get up close and personal with his foes. He is a self-described master with knives.
I believe I have everything set up for my character, but if anyone sees something that needs fix please let me know.

The Huntress wrote:I have not figured this out yet. Help?I'm not sure how to make a header for a forum alias. Can anyone help me with this?
Edit: Fixed
Sure thing! When you go to edit your profile, in the Race and Classes/levels fields, put something like this:
NG Dwarf Druid 1 HP:10/10 | AC:15 T:11 FF:14 | CMB:+1 CMD:12 | Saves F:+3 R:+1 W:+6 (+2 v poison, spell, Sp)| Init:+3 | Per:+8 | Spells 1:2/2
Just sub in your stats. It's usually good to put special senses, trackable resources (spells, limited use combat items, etc.), and other stats that you or the GM will need to reference super often. I'm not familiar with half-orcs or bards, so I'm not sure if anything else would be super important.
Edit: I just noticed I didn't include Darkvision in my own and just fixed that.

Does anyone have a preference for marching order? I have crap for perception and am outclassed as a scout with this group. I do swing a big axe and would like to be second or third in order to get into action quickly, however.
GM Batpony, what else do you need for me to put on your tracksheet other than my token for marching order?
GM Batpony |
Your perception and initiative modifiers! And as we go throughout the game just keep note of any buffs/statuses on the right table.
Aulurius |
Huntress and I can lead if no one else wants. A stubborn dwarf and a tiger. What could go wrong?
Feel free to move me wherever though.
Sulana |
I put myself at the back of the marching order, since I think I'm the only character primarily focused on ranged attacks. However feel free to move me around if it makes more sense for me to be elsewhere.
Sulana |
Tomayto, tomahto. Technically I think there is an actual toll and the bribe part is to keep them from looking closer.
Also, thank you so much Axe for suggesting the bird flu. It's hilarious and I love that our GM is willing to roll with it!
GM Batpony |
Sulana is right in both accounts.
And I think humour goes a long way in enjoying a game!

Completely off topic, but where is the best place to learn about Prestige Awards, and more specifically, how to earn them through my faction? I've found several things online, but want to make sure that they are the most up to date.

I wouldn't use online as the best tool about prestige awards. The two applicable resources for Pathfinder Society Prestige are:
Pathfinder Society Guild Guide (Free download)
Pathfinder Society Field Guide (Not free, and has old factions listed, so while it's not up to date with the season factions it's the only available resource with vanities for prestige point use)

Favored enemy bonus turned a fail into a success for me week before last. I always forget it's there on my ranger.
The Dwarf in the barrel is gonna do no good if that wolf comes much closer and has scent, lol.
Question from looking at the map. Would there be acrobatics checks involved to get off the boat?
Sulana |
I think no amount of bluffing or diplomacy will be enough to get the enforcers to forego searching the boat. (At least none our party can manage at this level, given that rolls of 24, 25, and 26 haven't worked.)
Do we let them search, hoping that they won't find the hidden dwarves, or do we attack now? Personally I think we'll have to attack; as Aulurius pointed out the wolf is a big problem. In-character though Sulana is going to continue waiting until either someone attacks or people start getting off the boat.

If it comes to it, I will treat it as a difficult terrain to hop over the boat's ledge. If you'd like to jump from the boat's ledge (to the platform say), an acrobatics check (part of your move action to a result maximum of your remaining move speed) would apply.
Bahram al-Urgug "Jack" |
Perhaps we exit the craft and attack then as they board. And then we make our get away, that's where I'm leaning.
Batpony, do I see any other enforcers nearby? Also, is this sort of discussion frowned upon or is this what this discussion tab is for?
Aulurius |
I see two additional options. Ask Temel to up the bribe (or up it ourselves), or cut the ropes and try to hurry down the river. I don't recommend the second, because we will take several crossbow bolts and a Chase will ensue. So up the bribe or fight?
Aulurius |
I'd bet only the one with the wolf would board, and that would leave the two on the docks. Plus we don't know for sure if they're looking for dwarves. So maybe we all disembark?
GM Batpony |
At this time you do not see other enforcers nearby.
With regards to out of character conversations, as a player I avoid it as much as possible as it breaks immersion for me. But I don't stop players if they want to do it, as whatever makes the game fun for players. Only time I intervene is when the PC's plan and the situational constraints don't make sense.
Aulurius |
Then everyone ignore what I said in discussion as I don't think the situation would allow much discussion lol. Unless GM deems that I could speak from my hiding spot without drawing attention from the docks.
GM Batpony |
No Temel would be relatively far away from the hiding dwarves, he doesn't want to relate to Metella!

Not sure your can actually 'fly' Axe. It looks like you can make a DC 15 fly check to glide instead of falling, like you were using a parachute. You could then make another DC 15 fly to move in a certain direction while you are gliding down. Unless I'm missing something, that is. I'm sure there is a feat or something you can take later on in order to actually fly.

Jack is correct.
The feat in question is Tengu Wings and is a level 5 feat.
While you can glide since you have the racial trait, there's not enough height for you to glide that far a distance. The boat is perhaps 10ft, 15 ft high at most with respect to the water. And the platform would be at least 5 ft, making it impossible to glide the distance since there is only about 10ft of room.
Some tengus can use their feathered arms and legs to glide. Tengus with this racial trait can make a DC 15 Fly check to fall safely from any height without taking falling damage, as if using feather fall. When falling safely, a tengu may make an additional DC 15 Fly check to glide, moving 5 feet laterally for every 20 feet he falls. This racial trait replaces gifted linguist.
Sulana |
Our GM suggested the format I just used for the rolls: (dice=Weapon, attack modifiers) followed by (dice=Dmg type).
As for the mechanics spoiler, I'm pretty new to pathfinder. Spelling out exactly what I'm doing mechanically helps me double-check that I'm doing it correctly.
GM Batpony |
Bahram, I put your character directionally same with the rest. Normally if the character is denoted sideways or upside down it means they are prone or unconscious. So You're always facing upwards in a map setting regardless of which direction you're "looking". Pathfinder does not take into consideration directional view, only positioning.
Aulurius |
That's why there's no "backstab" type things, and sneak is based on surprising or flanking, since you can't look front and back at the same time
Sulana |
Just to be clear, when Sulana asked about people’s ability to forge signatures she was also addressing our NPC allies. None of the PCs have linguistics as a skill, but maybe Temel does?
