Back... long story but simply put I am lucky enough to have a job but the hours have been wearing me down, couple that with a bout of mild sickness and voila. A cycle of work and then a need to sleep - its impacted my discord gaming and a bunch of other stuff too.

Anyways back to the game.

Hello all apologies but my pbp routine has just been thrown off. My schedule at home with work and watching kids leaves me drained so sitting down to post is the last thing I want to do but I am trying to commit myself to this game. I'll have a post up by tomorrow.

Yeah I don't know. One of my biggest forum pet peeves is players posting repeated check-ins thinking that it's somehow going to summon back the DM. At best, it's a mild annoyance with no real purpose other than perhaps stressing out whoever is being called out. It's important to remember that this is a game, and it's not like GMs/DMs are paid to put the time and effort it takes to compose creatively. As someone I know personally, I am certain Aumukua will post when his real life allows him enough bandwidth to, and that calling him out will not quicken that process.

I check in because players fade too. I've seen some games linger for a while with player on player engagement alone.

Enthusiasm stays and allows a smooth reset. It's not bullying the DM. It's not calling him out.

It doesn't always mean the game will come back but if it does? then it's a simple few posts and it's like nothing happened. Bonus.

I've also seen games go on hiatus and then because there was no engagement (player to player in this case) and people fade and just lose enthusiasm and if the game does come back on line there's additional challenges when some people say "nah, I'm out".

Edit: Also it lets the DM knows that IF they want to return the players are still there to engage with

No it's good I've put this off too long so let me post. We got a great group here so don't want people to lose interest.

As I mentioned, I've DM'd the DM but have not heard back from him yet. In the note, I offered to take over the DMing responsibilities if he's no longer able to. Would that be something that people are interested in? Also, does anyone know if we were following the plot of a published adventure?

Still poking around. I believe yes the setting (Zelkor's ferry & surrounding region) is part of a module. If GM responsibilities are handed off i'd be willing to continue.
