Well that was interesting! I can't wait until they meet again, should make for a pleasantly awkward situation.
GM Dak
So just for continuity clarification Vel and Mok have already arrived as was apparent with the previous interaction with Es :D. For now though let's keep Vel/Mok in spoilers on the past events leading up to their arrival and then Sapher/Drask will be in spoilers for a bit longer until you meet them at the docks.
Veltariel Mendrasti
Got ya. Can do.
Drask Umbra
Should be able to jump into gameplay this morning. Sorry for the delay.
Drask Umbra
Been absolutely hammered at work. Sorry, only getting delayed because an intro post takes so long to write.
Esrisi Derexhi
|
I swear if you keep Esrisi waiting in the docks too long with the fishy stuff she is going to throw up on you when you finally get here.
Drask Umbra
Imagine, if you will:
You're in a new board game. About to write up your first post after a few days of being swamped. Really excited, great group and great GM. Carefully read over intro and write an immersive and engaging first post. But you're also a veteran of the boards, so you know to save your work before hitting submit. Too many posts have been eaten by the forum monster. But a new challenger approaches, your browser freezes. Alright, that's a bit more of a problem, but if you force close it and restart it should have all your progress saved. Even if not, you have most of the post saved on your clipboard. Then, the new monster is eaten by an even greater threat. Windows crashes. After several minutes of clicking in vain, the whole screen goes back. The forum monster laughs in the background as it's older brother's older brother swallows your post...
Tl;dr My g&% d&+n computer crashed. Rebooting and rewriting the entire post. F$+& me.

Ugh. We have all been there, you have our sympathies.
I must tell you, get Typio or a similar application. I no longer have these woes, my friend. You can close the wrong window, let your computer crash, etc. Form recovery saves what you are typing in browser forms and pulls it right back. Saved my bacon so many times!
Drask Umbra
Oh by Gorum's sacred codpiece it still saved my post. Amazing.
Veltariel Mendrasti
Ouch. Side note: our party face, Veltariel, has set out alone into the city! Hahaha
Maybe the city won’t burn...
Veltariel Mendrasti
Also: I’m hanging on Roll20 if anyone would like to join.
Esrisi Derexhi
|
Side note: our party face, Veltariel ...
Oh really?! You're stealing my job from me already after one brief encounter, are you?
Veltariel Mendrasti
Well, you lack even the most basic of Elven manners...
;-P
Drask Umbra
If it makes you feel any better, I volunteer to be the party fist.
Veltariel Mendrasti
By all means. Go be big a nice big target. Hehehe
Drask Umbra
This BSF* comes packaged with an at-will single mirror image. Bring on the attacks!
Drask Umbra
An angry inquisitor of Bolka. What do you do, hunt down cheating spouses and intimidate them into being a loving partner?
Sapher Mornshire
Nope she beats them with her hammer. Intimidaiton is for before someone is bad, hammer is for after.
She destroys anything that might impede romance... like hordes of undead, vile thugs, cackling goblins, the possibilities are endless!!!!
14 hour long field trip with my youngest tomorrow, so no posting until tomorrow night.
Sapher Mornshire
Sorry for the delay, hopefully you noticed the 14 hour long field trip part of my previous message, which I've survived... barely.
Esrisi Derexhi
|
No problem, glad you survived!
Esrisi was more than happy to talk in your absence! :)
Sapher Mornshire
Thank you for your patience, and the filling of conversation!
Veltariel Mendrasti
Hanging around on Roll20 if anyone wants to chat in real time. Heh
Drask Umbra
You guys are posting brutally fast. I had to turn my RSS feed off so that my phone stopped trying to vibrate off my desk and just accept checking this thread hourly.
Veltariel Mendrasti
Ermmm...sorry? heh
Drask Umbra
Oh definitely no worries, I just haven't had a game moving this fast in a while. It's refreshing.
Esrisi Derexhi
|
Well Dak DID say he wanted a fast moving game, I was all too happy to oblige. One of the cool things about fast moving games is that it allows character development in a much more rapid setting than your typical slow moving game. The trick is to not advance the story too fast to allow people to get important posts in while at the same time allowing for scenes that would not normally develop to take place.
If you feel like Ez is talking too much and you want her to slow down, please don't be afraid to let me know. I won't take offense, I'm just trying to squeeze the chatterbox in as much as I can! :)
GM Dak
Generally, as long as it isn't combat (will wait 24 hours since my last post) or something where a response is needed from everyone or a particular person that hasn't responded, then I will move things forward with a few people posting. I'm loving this game so far. I look forward to refreshing my Campaign page to see if there are posts :D.
Drask Umbra
18 strength and a two-handed weapon. A level 1 setup so deadly that even a wizard could do it.
And I've seen that. The frontliner muscle wizard. We all thought she was a fighter, then we thought she was a magus. Nope, wizard.
Drask Umbra
Although at this point we're moving so fast we would be in retcon territory, I'm interested to know what Vel would think of Drask insulting her :P
Veltariel Mendrasti
Don't worry...she caught it.
But she also doesn't let people know readily she can understand Common Taldane. At least until Adorellan blows her cover on that front!
Drask Umbra
Oh goodie. :)
Also as a reminder, I'm sporadically available on weekends starting about this time every week. I have RSS feeds set up so I'll get notifications and can make quick posts, but typically won't have the time available for long high-quality posts.
For the immediate future, Drask will accept the job (and relish the opportunity to roll the heads of some gang members) and will want to know where they should start looking/asking around.
Drask Umbra
It's always hard to decide who a ring of feather falling should go to.
Drask would be interested in the dagger. Always good to have a silver weapon on a martial character. And as the party member who is the most likely to be taking a beating and/or grappled, having good backup weapons and good backup light weapons is important.
Veltariel Mendrasti
Clearly Veltariel should get it all.
;-P
Honestly, you Pathfinders divvy it up as you wish.
Sapher Mornshire
Sapher doesn't need either, but if we come across a magical hammer of hitting things hard, Sapher would like to request being able to use it. She'll fill out the proper paperwork and all.
Veltariel Mendrasti
On a weekend trip with fam. Will post as able, just may not be as wordy. But I’m currently standing stoically at the moment anyway. Lol
Drask Umbra
Drask will participate in the ritual. He is strongly spiritual and pays homage to most gods, although he distaste many evil deities (usually the mindlessly destructive ones like Rovagug) and some strict lawful deities.
Drask Umbra
Mokhasi seems like a strong supporter of socialism. Or communism, depending on the details :P
Mokhasi Kpu'unde
|
In my headcannon, Nantambu is like the TNG era Federation/Wakanda, and he believes wealth is best measured in social capital.
Such a society is more possible in a post-resource technological paradigm, which Nantambu is to him, though he is also naive.
But he also believes fervently in open trade between cultures. Which is different than many closed/managed economies.
Applying a 20th century economic paradigm doesn't really work. :)
Caroliss Kaddren
In my mind, I want Caroliss to take at least one level of Wizard someday, after Mokhasi fulfills her dream of learning how to Wizard. But from a character build perspective, I also would like to have a mechanically defensible reason for doing so. I've thought about Mystic Theurge and I keep arriving at the conclusion that it's underwhelming. Anyone have thoughts about why a Wizard (or Arcanist) dip would be helpful to a Cleric?
