Tessenarin sings a short tune you've not heard before. It's a happy pa lively tune that seems to give hope to everyone.
He then changes to his angry song and makes weapons glow.
Atium hesitates. He doesn't want to attack a cat. With his affinity for animal totems, he's really not certain about this.

Aishe shrugs. He’s fought weirder opponents, but this one seems so innocent. Still, he knows that evil takes many guises, so he doesn’t let it hamper his resolve as he shoots the poor defenseless putty-tat.

His uncertainty seems to bleed through his attack as only one bolt comes even close to the small creature.

Tessenarin sings a helpful song while Vanyan readies his spear to skewer the kitten. Aishe lets out a trio of bolts. The first two stick into the wooden shelves as the last one sticks into the kitten's back haunch.
Some of the wounds heal on the kitten. The group is so distracted that as they turn to survey the room once more there now seems to be two Aishe's standing right next to each other. The second Aishe stares at the first in shock and surprise. "What is going on?"
The kitten takes advantage of the surprise to bite at Atium.

He reaches up to one of the totems around his neck.
Shakra..... But doesn't find a natural enemy of cats.
Not the Bull, Not the Drake, Not the Bear, and not the turtle. His hand move away from his neck without grabbing a specific totem.
Then the cat is dead, but there's a second Aishe.
Atium pivots. On guard, but unable to get himself to attack his forgehelper.
What? This room confuses me! I want out.

Not quite sure who to shoot Tessenarin aims for the southern Aishe. His arrow sticks right into the man's ribs. "What are you doing!?" He groans, clutching the arrow and points to the northern Aishe. "That's the fake..."
Atium falters as he doesn't want to attack the wrong Aishe. The souther Aishe points to Atium. "Don't hold back, get the imposter!"

"Get the evil Aishe!"
my fault in originally posting. I also will be attacking Real friendly Aishe as I failed the save. I'm assuming it's North Aishe right now. Correct post if I'm wrong.
Atium, spurred to action and attacking by Vinas, Vanyan, and the real Aishe.
He moves forward ten feet towards Aishe. Pulls out the new Warhammer and attacks! Hoping to take the fake Aishe down before more chaos ensues.
Vanyan coughs into his hand twice. Angrily.

Vinas detects no evil coming from the northern Aishe and this allows Tessenarin and real Aishe to stick the dupli-Aishe full of arrows and bolts.
With the kitten extremely wounded and it's disguise busted Atium is able to easily move in and finish it off with a crushing blow from his hammer.

"Atium, how do you feel my friend? come here, I may be able to sooth some of the worst of it." He looks to the others. "Can you begin research here while I provide succor."

Tess looks almost longingly at the books. "I miss books. My mother was firm believer in education. She read history books to me at night before I was able to read. Then she made me read every night once I could do so for myself."
He sighs, almost wistfully, and his eyes grow a bit distant for a moment. He then shakes his head and begins looking a the books.
[b]"enough of that. Let us get started.[b]
Aishe walks up and pokes his foot as his doppleganger. "So that's what I look like huh?" He collects his missed bolts and checks them for damage, before searching his double to see if the bolts he carries might be useful or fakes.
He'll then keep watch over those more interested in their studies, keeping his cherished masterwork crossbow handy.
"Yeah, that's about it, Aishe. Like looking into a foggy mirror. Of course, you've already seen your own death once...now twice, lucky you."
Vanyan moves around the library now that the deadly feline protector is gone. He will cast Detect Magic and look around, knowing that they may be back after dealing with the vampire.

Vinas heals Atium's bite from the kitten, curing the disease as well. Meanwhile Tessenarin begins to flip through some of the books as best as he can. Aishe kicks over the body that is now a mixture between himself and a feline, A small handful of bolts can be found on it's body. (20 Bolts).

After quick searching the library, Vanyan will move to the corridor. He'll hope to explore both sides before really reading up in the library, after all no dessert until you've finished your main vampire meal.
Aishe grins a wide grin as he scores a score of bolts. He holds them up for all to see, in case they missed it, as he carefully puts some in his quiver and the rest in his pack for later.
Yeah! Bolts! Also, thank you Vinas. I do feel better. That catbite seemed to create a really odd lookng wound.
Atium is ready to go to other rooms too.
Glad he didn't destroy his friends or his friends cherished masterwork crossbow. Somewhere inside, he knows he was duped by magic or cats or a combination of them.
"My research will take some time. Do you want to finish exploring this area or allow me to do my research first?"
"Press on whilst we have the element of surprise," suggests Aishe as he too will line up at the next door. Unless the others really want to wait out the 8 hours.
"Agreed. It seems unwise to set up shop in a library while that thing persists. We shall return."
Vinas approaches the eastern door, and gives it a look and listen. Barring reason, he'll open it.

A well-worn couch sits against the eastern wall, its upholstery frayed at the seams and bits of stuffing poking out. A pair of tapestries on the northern and southern walls depict pastoral landscapes drenched in sunlight.
The regular priests of the cathedral used this room to relax and chat with one another when not busy with other tasks. The tapestries were meant to provide pleasant views in the absence of any windows here and are dusty with age.
This place is pretty comfortable. Looks cozy.
Anyone see anything interesting?
Vanyan moves into the room only after others have moved in, reflecting on what he has told the party about vampires.
He will cast Detect Magic and look around.
Perception
While Vanyan scans, Vinas seeks... Evil
"I do not see another door in the room. The other door then, Vinas?"
Vinas pours into the room, headed for the next room. His eagerness to face a vampire is gaining enough momentum to show in his gait.
Aishe enters the room and looks around a bit, though he mostly focuses on the next door. The vampire must be close, not a lot of room left!
Vanyan keeps his Detect Magic going, and awaits for the next door to be opened.
”Where is it? It has to be here somewhere.”
He grips his staff a bit tighter, ready to unleash its magic.

He, on the otherhand is relatively calm.
This is a nice room. Well furnished. The people that were here did a good job.
Unless, of course this couch here is one of those shape changing creatures that can turn into objects. Then, when we walk into the other room-- it springs on us from behind. probably killing Tess or Aishe in one blow while the Vampire attaches itself to one of our throats.

Behind him, Tessenarin gives Atium a look that somehow manages to convey disgust, surprise, and WTF all in one look. Obviously taught to him by his mother.

”What?” Vanyan offers a WTF-Did-I-Do-To-Deserve-That face to Tess. He looks to Aishe and Vinas for some support.
Aishe chuckles under his breath, though he too looked carefully at the couch a moment. He shrugs when Vanyan looks to him for support, "I'm not getting involved." he says, grinning.
He loads one of the new bolts he found and prepares for the next door.

He brings down his Warhammer onto the Couch. HARD. (Using Sunder ability).
