Henris Flynn |

Henris would likely be off-put by Blipp's actions. He's generally a good, kind, trusting person, so harvesting organs from the dead for strange experiments is a little disconcerting to him. However, being a worshipper of Gozreh, he likely wouldn't take offense to most of Blipp's things. Poisons are commonly occurring in nature, after all. The only possible issue might be undead creation. That would be something UNnatural.

![]() |

Blipp wouldn't be the only one detecting as evil... Nali would, too, and so would the halfling. All the small ones, so far, are evil.
I didn't read a problem in the background. The paladin doesn't seem to be lawful stupid. Just a lot of anquish and high morals.
I'd be willing to work with the paladin. He's probably good at taking hits, and a dependable party (pack) member. He might have a problem, though, if I wish to use scare tactics by sending an enemy back to their village with their eyes burned out... We'll see how it goes.
The frog seems untrustworthy, and not a real teamplayer. I'm afraid that when I sent an enemy back to their village with their eyes burnt out, the frog would hit them with a slow poison for experimentation, and the village would never get the message...
The cleric seems to be just a lunatic shouting praise at the sky. Typical big lump.
:D
Oh, and then there are the mantis, the half-orc, and the strong guy, right? They're all fine, I should think. Mantis, though, is just as crazy as the cleric. Same stuff, different god :D

Ah, You forget I'm going Vivisectionist- I'm pretty sure the intense surgery to create an Awoken animal is "Unnatural" despite being a druid spell.

...
Ah now put a little more faith in me than that... I'd know how to make the poison slow enough they wouldn't die until they got back, Their eyes burned out, Black veins visible beneath the skin, and blood pouring from every orifice.
As for the team: It's a means to an end. They kill enemies, I extract the deadly essances from the dead ones. After all I'm quite small and weak. And letting others kill the beasts would mean I don't have to worry about doing it myself. Plus- if any of you get poisoned in the process it gives me a great chance to experiment with the various Anti-venom I'm working on.
And if any of you die- you can know that your body is in very skilled hands

Hey now, I worship Gozreh. Sometimes I'm shouting praise at the ocean, too.

You know, I did forget that. That's a bit weird too. Stop experimenting on animals. They don't deserve that.

Cαlαmity |

Calamity is TN, yes.
For my opinion, we're in a survival situation and she would be too panicky to place moral judgment on Blipp, though their actions would unnerve her also. The character she would have the greatest issue with would be the "fiend summoning, Chelish fop", given her past enslavement in Cheliax. She is incredibly afraid of shaking the boat tho and making herself available as a target, so she would just be intimidated and scared and probably not ever trust him but there wouldn't be a lot of friction there initially

Trogustiano Jeggare |

Yeah, add to that he summons up a slip(Chelish for halfling slave) from the afterlife, basically chaining her soul to the here and now instead of her final rest... going to be interesting if we both get chosen. Worse yet, he is a bit fixated on her and Calamity sounds a lot like Kithlee, I can change that if it might be too much creepy.

There's definitely a lot of differences in the character submissions so far. Putting together a party that could reasonably work together mechanically shouldn't be hard, but roleplay wise I think there's quite a bit of potential for disaster.
GM, is there a particular feel you are wanting for this campaign? You mentioned in the OP that evil characters were ok, and rarely do people get to play such, I expect that's why we're seeing so many.
Playing evil characters can lead to some darker themes though for a game. If that's everyone's expectation then that's fine. It's important that everyone be on the same page with such things though.
Personally I don't like getting too dark though, just saying. If that means Roland isn't a good fit for the kind of game you/we are going to run that's fine, but now you know to not select him.

Darkwing_DM |

Even though it is survival in the beginning, there needs to be a way to pull together as a group, if I don't think that it would be possible I wouldn't pick your character. so don't get hung up on survival aspect to keep the group together. (because it will go way after book one) the easiest work around is if someone is evil. (looking at some people) they should have good traits to offset or teamwork. (example, see Vio's rat "pack" mentality; where he latches on to people that help him, and his evil is more a misunderstood evil than a kill/torture/rape mentality.) the important part is to play your character , but compromise. for example in the above talk "burn out their eyes" would be bad to torture but if the eyes were a "delicacy" to their race it wouldn't be evil, it would just be a misunderstanding. I personally think the Tortured crusader is a good choice for dealing with opposing alignments, because they "Know" that everyone struggles I cant live up to "their" expectations, that's why they are tortured.
SO after seeing some evil characters summitted I think I will add a addition requirement to anyone who plays evil or good character to in the 5 min background add one last category where good and evil people will have easier time getting along and bonding over your experiences. Neutral character don't have to add these.
1. name three good/positive traits to your character. (if your evil)
or
1. name three bad/negative aspects to your character (if your good)
examples for good traits-
wont kill kids, woman, Patriot, helpful, Polite, respectful of others.
examples for bad traits-
Racist, sexist, greedy, selfish, abusive, Cheat.
this additional background will help people with strong personalities have more in common with others and allow a "hook" to be used if the party might get into the disagreements. using the same example above "burn out their eyes" if Blipp had a soft spot for kids, the others would then be able to "talk" him out of it by letting him know it might "scare" the kids really bad. thus allowing people to play their characters but have a prewritten "in" to effect them during stressful choices.

Trogustiano Jeggare |

3 positive traits.
Honest. He will murder, manipulate, and use everyone to keep him safe, but he will do it honestly.
Merciful. Cruelty is pointless, why cause needless suffering when it slows you down. He may destroy a village if that was necessary to get what he wants, but he wouldn't needlessly torture the peasants.
Romantic. He truly believes that the world contains beauty and that it is worth preserving, he just has some very warped priorities and a moral compass that has a few cracks in it.

Ammon Knight of Ragathiel |

1) He's secretive. He tends to keep secrets for what he believes to be the greater good. And will in fact do whatever it takes to assure the greater good
2) Eko can be Naive, he wants to see the good i'm people so he might just go looking for it even if its not there.
3) Hes often interferes in problems and such even if he shouldn't get involved. in his own words "My honor will not allow me to stand idly by"

baggageboy |

Profile updated: Roland Payne
Name three things that are bad if you are a good character
- Anger management, Roland get's mad easy and will use violence
- Dishonest, Roland isn't a cheat, and won't steal, but he will lie if he feels a strong need to, though he doesn't do it often
- Greedy, Roland grew up poor and struggles to let go of the wealth he acquires, he is not the kind of person to not accept a reward, he want's his due.

Blipp Blacktongue |

1) Blipp does not actually care to be malicious. Everything they do is purely for the study- If doing something won't somehow advance their study then there is no reason to waste the resources.
2)Blipp ultimately will seek to avoid anything that would compromise their ability to study and experiment. If doing something would result in a situation where they'd have to flee or something that would result in the destruction of their research then they will avoid it.
3)Blipp is ultimately a logic driven individual. They do not kill or torture out of malicious intent- But rather a desire to advance.
In the end: Blipp cares not who they kill- man, child, Woman, or animal. What they care about is solely the study of venoms and toxins in order to become Immune to them and extend their life long enough to move onto another study.

Well, one of Nali's positive traits has already been spelled out: pack mentality. But I'll write in my own words, nonetheless:
1) Pack mentality. Neutral evil is usually the most selfish alignment. However, Nali will extend this selfishness to her pack. She will do whatever she needs to do, not to only advance herself, but mostly to advance her pack. This could, in rare cases, lead to exterminating malfunctioning pack members, but definitely not habitually. Also, Nali is not personally power hungry when it comes to pack positions. She would like to be respected for her skills and deeds, but doesn't need to be the boss.
2) Friendly. It's true that Nali would not shy away from flaying children alive if it would be of strong benefit to her pack. But if she has no reason to dole out hurt, she won't, not even verbally. She likes being nice to people if it doesn't cost her anything, and will eventually go even beyond that for pack (party) members.
3) Adventurous. Nali likes glory, stories, and new things. She loves for her pack to achieve great infamy (or fame, if infamy can't be had) and to achieve the strength to be able to boast about it without getting killed.

trawets71 |

I will be submitting St. John Smythe for this. He's been in this twice and the groups never made it through book 1. I'm still working on the 5 min background.

Ellioti |

So here is Haji, Half-elf Paladin/Inquisitor. He's an alternative to the standard Oradin, except he's WIS-based. He can heal and fight.
- uncontrolled alcoholic: he can get into fights if provoked
- hopeless: he doesn't believe in the victory of good over evil anymore, he justs wants to spare as many people as possible
- paranoid: everyone is potentially evil or has malicious thoughts, unless proven otherwise

Henris Flynn |

I've updated the 5 min. background in the profile with my 3 negative traits, but I'm posting them here, too.
1. Callous - Nature has no morality and can be as cruel as any demon. Because of that, Henris willingly shrugs off many violent acts.
2. Wrathful - Just as a storm can rip up trees and destroy a village through it's wrath, so too can Henris become as wrathful as the storm if made angry.
3. Gullible - Henris is willing to believe the best of people, and assumes everyone is truthful unless presented with irrevocable proof.

Darkwing_DM |

I'm still working on everything, if anyone wants to look at the campaign tab or the slides they are more than welcome to get a idea of what i'm looking for or where the vision for the AP is. I've found that during the recruitment time is the best time to gather info and set everything up rather than scrambling to get things together.

Masi |

I’d like to submit Masi, a zenj tribalist from the jungles of the Mgwani Expanse. Mechanically, hes a Treestrider Hunter with an Ape companion. Gives up Hunter Aspects—I know, tough give—but gains some cool jungle climbing ambushing action!
1) I'd like 5 points that capture the concept and story of the character. More are welcome, but no less than five.
-Masi is the youngest son of the Ngali Tribe’s shaman but became a hunter after his coming-of-age spirit quest led him to N’kasu, his Ape hunting companion.
-Masi formed a mentoring relationship with another young hunter, Imbuka, who’s gruff and angry manner was able to teach the softer Masi how to survive in the jungle.
-Masi was gone for a number of weeks on a hunting trip, patrolling the borders between the neighboring tribe, the Inyoka. When he returned to his tribe he found all of them unconscious but alive on the ground, their veins unnaturally black as night and their eyes pure black. The only person he saw that was not present was his mother, Umusa. Not an unusual thing as she was often away to perform rituals and obtain spell components.
-Masi, unsure what to do, or whether this was magical or disease related took all of the treasures of his people and left with N’kasu for Senghor in hopes of boarding a ship bound for Eleder to obtain medicine for his people.
-Without actually taking the campaign trait, Masi did not have enough money to gain entrance on to the ship and while it was difficult to do so, Masi was able to sneak him and N’kasu into the holding of the ship.
2) Two goals that you'd like the character to accomplish in-game.
-Obtain either information pointing toward a cure or the cure itself for his tribe.
-Discover what happened to his mother.
3) Two secrets, one the PC keeps to himself, and one kept from the PC. I'll come up with a third that both the character and player aren't aware of, in hopes of shocking surprises within the storytelling.
-While not present at the tribe when the initial outbreak started and thus not exposed to the highest concentration of whatever caused this, his time in the village sill infected Masi. He takes time to make sure his leather and hides cover his feet and ankles as his veins are slowly turning black with each day.
-In his shock at seeing his people diseased and unconscious, he missed the fact that Imbuka was not one of the bodies in his tribe and would be shocked to know that Imbuka caused this to happen because he desired to rule the tribe himself.
4) 3-5 people that are tied to your PC by blood, love, rivalry, honor, etc. I'd like at least one enemy in a set of three or four, with no more than two for a set of five. PLEASE consider the players reference guide for ideas.
-Imbuka, young hunter roughly the same age as Masi but far more selfish. They have a sort of rivalry friendship. Imbuka is responsible for the afflictions that Masi saw their tribe.
-Umusa, Masi’s mother and the shaman of the Ngali tribe. He learned his kindness from his mother. Masi is not sure whether she is alive or dead, or if she is infected as well.
-Jask Derindi, having snuck aboard the Jenivere and being this the first most prolonged interaction with a civilized person, Masi is fascinated by Jask but skeptical that anything other than the Ngali way can work.
5) Three key memories that define your character as the person they are at the time of submission.
-Going on a spirit quest is a rite of passage and a serious endeavor. In fact Masi was for lack of better terms “failing” the spirit quest. Having been bitten by a poisonous python, Masi simply laid down to die. In his fevered state as he began succumbing to the poison, he saw a giant ape fill his vision and run off into the jungle. He was able to slowly pull himself after the ape and what he found was a young female ape alone in the forest, also slowly dying. As he approached closer he felt their spirits intertwined and after Masi seemed to be strong enough to take care of the two of them. They stayed in that jungle for weeks taking care of each other and returned back to the village never to be alone again.
-Early on in his training, Masi could not get the hang of trapping and hunting. He felt it too cruel, his mother listened to him first and then provided words of wisdom that have stuck with Masi to this day, “To take a life you must respect a life. Where it has been and where it was going to go. Remember that you are always a part of something bigger little imfene”
-Shortly after arriving in Senghor, some Chelexians approached him and began to accost him, forcing him to give over all of his people’s treasures that he had brought with him. As they physically attacked, N’kasu bore her teeth but was told to stand down by Masi as the young Chelexian men kicked him repeatedly in the stomach. As he lay there covered in blood and mud, Masi experienced what some people thought of the natives of this land.
6) Finally, I'd like you to include with your submission a fear or paranoia that causes your character to shiver, cower, or panic.
-Masi now has nightmares of the moment he saw all of the people of his tribe with black eyes and unnaturally black veins, unconscious on the ground; and fears what it is doing to him and how much time he has.
7)Name three negative aspects to your character
-Masi is slightly xenophobic, he doesn’t hate other races but having no prolonged exposure to them he does not believe that their way of life is the best way to live
-He’s rather naive of civilized culture and many things go over his head.
-While he tends to take after his mother more, there is no doubt that the skills taught to him by Imbuka have taken hold of Masi’s heart. He can get very angry and violent especially when he gets lost in the heat of battle or the moment.
A dark hand reaches from behind a crate, grasping at a handful of crumbs that had fallen from the cage holding an unkempt man inside. ”I would be more careful they don’t catch you and your ape.”, the man speak out loud in the direction of the cargo.
Slowly, crouched down on his knees, an ebony-skinned man inches his way out from the various crates and barrels. ”Ngaba uthetha ulwimi lwabantu?”, Masi asks, coming in to full view of the man in the cage.
”No I don’t speak that tribal language, hope you know some Taldane, although I dont expect to be much of a conversationalist. What’s your name boy? How’d you get here?” the man in the cage asks.
”My name Masi” he responds in broken Common, ”I go to big city, find medicine for my people. This is N’kasu.” As he says this, growling low around the corner comes an ape baring its teeth at the man in the cage. ”Easy, N’kasu. He no harm yet.”
Masi tentatively makes his way to the man in the cage. Each step bringing him closer to the only person that he has had contact with on this ship. ”Well if you must know, I’m Jask, but lets leave it there for now stowaway.”, Jask makes no motion to get closer to Masi.
Now standing right against the cage Masi erupts loudly before realizing that others may hear him, ”I no stowaway, this the only way to get to city. Please don’t speak of my name to anyone.”. Jask jestures his hands around the cage ”Well I’m clearly not in good standing with the rest of the ship if that wasn’t clear. I’m a prisoner.”
”Why?”, the zenj man cocks his head to the side and asks Jask, not totally understanding the situation. ”I.......I don’t want to talk about it”, Jask lowers his head, staring at his bare feet, ”Look, if you leave me alone, I’ll see if I can start asking for more food for you and your.....uh....ape. Just keep quiet and leave me alone.”
Masi is shocked as Jask physically turns away from Masi and N’kasu. Masi looks like he’s about to say something to Jask before whispering, ”Njengoko unqwena” and turning around to move behind the crate with N’kasu.

Felix "Lucky Gits" Season |

1)I'd like 5 points that capture the concept and story of the character. More are welcome, but no less than five.
*Luck: Felix is all about luck. Felix is not as well trained as a fighter, but he is quite lucky.
*Superstitious: Felix is quite superstitious and is keen on collecting
good luck charms and avoids symbols of bad luck, like black cats and broken mirrors like plague
*Funloving: Felix loves good wine, good food, music and women
*Curious: Always curious Felix enjoys to meet new people, explore new places and new vices to enjoy
*Goodnatured: Felix may be a pirat, a thug and or a bouncer, but he is not evil. He just did what he had to do to survive
2) Two goals that you'd like the character to accomplish in-game.
Earn enough money to live a good live, settle down and have a decent flask of wine ever after and especially... surive his enemys to be there and pee on their graves
Make a name for himself by finding some cool magical item to be known about. Like Felix Flametongue
3) Two secrets, one the PC keeps to himself, and one kept from the PC. I'll come up with a third that both the character and player aren't aware of, in hopes of shocking surprises within the storytelling.
Felix last affair, the one just before he boarded the guinivere was with a young half-orc barmaid. Unknown to booth. She was his stepsister.
Felix never killed a man so far. He is a killing virgin. He is by far not as tough as he makes others believe
4) 3-5 people that are tied to your PC by blood, love, rivalry, honor, etc. I'd like at least one enemy in a set of three or four, with no more than two for a set of five. PLEASE consider the players reference guide for ideas.
Fantasto, Felix father. A con man, a swindler a thief. He could be a loving father, as long as he got his cut.
Cara, Felix half sister. A young half-orc girl, working in the salty mermaid. He had a an affair with her.
Captain Joshua Scarclaw, the captain of the Deathclaw. After Felix sneaked away, with a certain good luck charm, Joshua Scarclaw vowed to hunt Felix down and gut him like a fish
Padramo, the owner of the salty mermaid. He gave Felix a job as bouncer and they have become fast friends.
5) Three key memories that define your character as the person they are at the time of submission.
The moment looked back from the pier, seeing the Deathclaw sail away, the moment of relief, happiness and freedom from the heartlesscrew of cutthroats and rapers.
The feeling of impending victory when he picks up dice.
The utter terror when he saw Captain Scarclaw, leaving the Salty mermaid, holding Padramo´s head by its dreadlocks, cut off because he couldn´t find Felix.
6) Finally, I'd like you to include with your submission a fear or paranoia that causes your character to shiver, cower, or panic.
While Felix hates each and every symbol of bad luck, he is REALLY afraid of black cats. Truly, utterly afraid of them.

@Darking_DM As I thought about it more, it makes more sense to take the actual campaign trait Stowaway and set aside Boarded in the Mgwani Expanse as my campaign trait. Although I’d really like to start play speaking Polygot even if it were to mean that I either do not know Common or speak only a smattering of Common phrases. What would you think of taking Stowaway as the Campaign trait but speaking Polygot and Broken Common at the start of the game?

Bahari |

I'd like to throw my hat in the ring for this campaign with Bahari (you can call him Hari), orphaned monkey gobbo, raised by the Ijo Bonuwat of Desperation Bay, and jungle warrior (reskinned Zen Archer Monk) of his human tribe.
I think I have every required bit of info listed below or in his profile.
Thanks for considering him!
To his surprise the babe was well-behaved on his fishing boat, comfortable with the rocking of the ocean, the salt spray, and the roar of the waves. It took Ba'wo weeks to make his way home to the Ijo villages on Desperation Bay. In that time, Ba'wo decided to keep the child and raise it as his own. Ba'wo's wife, Mi'asa wasn't easily convinced but, as she hadn't provided the fisherman with a child, she eventually relented and accepted this unconventional addition to their family.
The goblin proved a relatively good child with a knack for boating and fishing, pleasing his adopted parents greatly. Knowing the hurdles a goblin would face in the human world, Ba'wo, Mi'asa, and their village spent a great deal of time raising the goblin to understand and be comfortable around humans. They raised him to worship Shimye-Magalla (Trait: Inspired) as all the villagers did and even gave him a Mwangi name - Bahari - to help him fit in. To curb his youthful, trouble-seeking urges and sometimes quick goblin temper, Ba’wo lent his adoptive son to the jungle hunters and village warriors to train him in their unique fighting arts (Re-Skinned the Monk as a lightly armored jungle warfare martial artist) to protect his people, himself (in a hostile world to his kind), and instill discipline. His goblin heritage made him an apt student at jungle warfare.
The village’s efforts were far more successful than they could have ever imagined. Bahari sees the world through mostly human eyes. Admittedly, he sees himself as a short, shark-toothed, red-eyed human with a monstrous appetite... but close enough. Admittedly, there are some holes in his education, in part due to the naivete of his village about the world at large... but Bahari is feeling his way through these minor issues.
Ba'wo wasn't rich but he was a successful fisherman, so when Bahari announced his desire to see the world and have all sorts of adventures, Ba'wo smiled and funded his son's desires. The old fisherman equipped the youth well - providing him with a sturdy bow, fishing gear, strong rope, a water-proof kit bag, and an axe. Upon arriving at Port Peril, Bahari – still a bit naive – bought himself a leather tricorn 'pirate' hat for a gold piece. The man who sold it to him assured him that the hat was specially-magicked to ensure smooth sailing and grand adventures... well worth a mere piece of gold!
After months of exploring the lands around the Eye, Bahari is on the last leg of his trip home. He joins the Jenivere at Bloodcove (Trait: Boarded in Mwangi Expanse), expecting an easy voyage.
• Artisan’s Tools (Craft: Bows)
• Fetish, Tribal (Shimye-Magalla)
• Tricorn Leather Hat
• Red ‘pirate bandana’ (actually a pair of panties but he doesn’t know that)
• Arrows (20)
• Arrows (20)
• Shortbow
• Shortbow
• Siangham
• Handaxe
• Compass
• Silk rope 50’
• Flint & Steel
• Fishing Net
• Waterproof Bag (Sea Bag)
1) 5 points that capture the concept and story of the character:
• Slightly naïve fish-out-of-water among humans
• A new variant on the ‘noble savage’ trope
• Combination of wide-eyed wonder at new things and pragmatism about survival
• Reversal of the Tarzan story – a ‘savage’ adopted by civilized folk
• An adventure seeking Mwangi loyalist who enjoys the experiences of civilization but still sees his tribal culture as just as valuable and worthy of protection
• Comic moments but not comic relief
2) Two goals that you'd like the character to accomplish in-game.
• I’d like Bahari to break Squint Eye McRae’s influence over (or the Ombo Bonuwat’s predation of) the Ijo Bonuwat.
• I’ve never played through this adventure so I’m not sure what goals are realistic. I know Bahari grew up around humans so he’d definitely like to go on a date with a tall girl (human, half-orc, or otherwise). Not sure that’s a goal so much as an RP opportunity.
• Bahari sees himself (despite his alignment) as being something of a hero, so it would be great if he managed to save some portion of the team by himself at some point – whether by combat, cleverness, or a combo thereof.
3) Two secrets, one the PC keeps to himself, and one kept from the PC.
• Bahari’s secret: Among the Ijo Bonuwat, practicing magic is surrounded by taboos and restrictions. But Bahari is secretly fascinated by spellcraft and wants to do it – whether by spell or device.
• Another’s secret: A troop of jungle goblins has seen Bahari among the Bonuwat. They think his knowledge of humans would be useful and are waiting for a good chance to abduct and ‘de-program’ (change his loyalties or torture him for info before killing) him.
4) 3-5 people that are tied to your PC by blood, love, rivalry, honor, etc. I'd like at least one enemy in a set of three or four, with no more than two for a set of five.
• Ba’wo – adoptive father
• Mi’asa – adoptive mother
• ‘Squint Eye’ McRae – Sargavan merchant who periodically squeezes the Bonuwat fishermen for more than a fair share of the profits when he sells their goods, not above roughing up a hesitant fisherman (enemy)
• ‘Old Buli’ – one of the elder Bonuwat tribesmen in Ijo, and the most experienced warrior (mentor)
• Ombo Bonuwat – a Bonuwat tribe that periodically raids the Ijo Bonuwat (enemy tribe)
5) Three key memories that define your character as the person they are at the time of submission.
• As a goblin among humans, Bahari was teased by other kids and picked on. He was even too slow to keep up with the others (Move base: 20’) so he always felt ‘less’.
• In contrast to the previous, when he went with the jungle fighters, his skills were advantageous. He could climb better than any of them (climb: 30’), moved more easily and silently in the jungle, and his dexterity made him a ferocious hunter and an elusive defender. He felt in his element and the respect he garnered from the other warriors means everything to him.
• The day as a child he realized he was different from his parents but still loved by them.
6) Include a fear or paranoia that causes your character to shiver, cower, or panic.
• Huge snakes or other massive reptiles.
Striding up the gangway of the Jenivere is 3' of unconventional gobbo. Red eyes stand out against the tattooed green skin of this miniature Mwangi warrior. Tribal bangles hang from his wrists and the colorful feathers of exotic birds are woven into the sparse wiry hairs that crown his wrinkled head. Gnarly feet and muscled calves emerge from a threadbare but sturdy set of loose brown breeches held up by a tightly wound purple sash around his tiny waist. An equally loose and threadbare once-white tunic with wide rolled sleeves covers his ropey-muscled upper body.
Hanging off one shoulder is a heavily laden, waterproof sea-bag, the upper limb of a worn bow peeking out. His prehensile tail proudly carries an oversized, salt-sprayed, leather tricorn hat. The goblin gives a passing red-haired woman what he probably believes is a debonair bow. A red silk bandana is wrapped around his brow, keeping his feathers from falling into his eyes. Unfortunately, Bahari seems unaware what is obvious to most everyone else, his bandana is actually a pair of women's panties.
2. Ruthless – Bahari’s ‘goblin-side’ comes out in battle. He is a cold-blooded pragmatist when it comes to a fight. He doesn’t believe in fighting fair and he might decide that a particularly dangerous enemy captive would be ‘safer’ if they were dead.
3. Meat is a Meal – Like most goblins, Bahari finds it difficult to discriminate on what is an appropriate meal. He’s quite likely to see a fallen enemy as a convenient snack. While he’s learned that most sentient beings find that practice offensive – and he tries hard to behave appropriately – when he’s hungry, the rules sometimes get forgotten. And, of course, eating the brain of a spellcaster is a delicacy. And while he’d never eat a fallen ally… would a little taste be out of line?
Curiosity and attraction won out. It took Bahari another day to muster the courage to speak with the striking woman. Of course, he made sure his feathers were clean and laid out in a fine fashion, held in place by his silk bandana (panties). And he ordered his wrist bangles to communicate his status as a blooded warrior of the Ijo and bachelor ready to find a mate. Viewing his reflection in a barrel of drinking water, he practiced his ‘welcoming’ smile. It came out looking ‘predatory’, as Mi’asa called it. He frowned and tried to show fewer shark teeth. Better.
Bahari saw Sasha near the railing, thinking whatever thoughts would come into a head topped with red hair. He ‘casually’ strolled up – moving with clear purpose that anyone could see. He stopped a few from Sasha and leaned against the rail as he’d seen others do. It felt strange but he was confident this would put her at ease. ”Greetings.” he finally managed to squeak out excitedly in accented Common. He almost bolted when she looked right at him. He pressed on, less squeaky and more confidently, ”I am Bahari, warrior of the Ijo of the Bonuwat. I… would like to know if you are touched by your Gods?”
Sasha was alternatively confused and amused. She’d seen the imp onboard, of course, but noted he mostly kept to himself. ”Uh, hi. I am Sasha Neva, lately from Mediogalti. I can’t say the Gods have shown much interest in me. Why do you ask?”
The small goblin nods sagely, weighing the information learned. ”It is good to meet you Miss Sasha of Mediogalti.” he continues, ”Your hair. It is like flames or the bright feathers of the blessed Panipuni. Surely the Gods favor one with sunset hair. No?” He self-consciously runs a claw through his own feathers.
Sasha smiles at the compliment but could only shrug at the Gods’ will. ”Maybe. There are lands, far from here, where hair this color is more common.”
Bahari eyes widen, considering what such a place must be like. He puts the idea aside and throws the conversation in a different direction. “Miss Sasha of Mediogalti, would you like to eat with me?”
Sasha hesitates, unsure if she is missing some social context to the strange goblin’s question. ”Uh…”
Misreading her hesitancy, Bahari tries to assuage her potential fear. He offers a ‘reassuring’ but far too shark-toothy smile, ”I invite you to eat food, not you.”
