Henric snorts at that response. "Lots of words and yet you haven't said a thing... How about you draw us a map, rather than play riddlegames with us?" His interruption is tinged with frustration, and as if realizing that he steps back and quiets again, shaking his head in disgust.

Speaking to Ameiko, Vincent asks, "What do you make of this, my lady? Are End of the World cults common here?:
I'm not sure why, but I didn't see that there was a new post when checking my games.
Ameiko furls her brow as she replies,
"This is a wild and untamed country, undoubtedly, and it has been said that the size and darkness of the wilderness drives those who live on its borders mad."
"Certainly, this would not be the first instance of a ravenous cult in our midst. The town records indicate that, in a prior time, a number of the early colonists 'went native' and began to venerate the mysterious entities that were objects of devotion for the hobgoblin tribes, extending a mere trading relationship into something far deeper and more sinister. In fact, it is said that these unfortunates became so far corrupted by the ancient forces they contacted that even the hobgoblin shamans, as well as the members of this formerly noble people who had refrained from such dark explorations, were frightened by their erstwhile allies' activities, and undertook to purge them from their midst... I can lead you to the entries in the archives if you should wish to pursue this line of inquiry further."

Vincent raises his eyebrows in surprise. "I must admit my query was half in jest. I am no scholar, but am now curious to see the records. Perhaps the cult is one from the past, risen again."

Ameiko gazes around the dark room, trying to make eye contact with all present,
"Does anyone else wish to join us? Have we finished interrogating this... whatever she is?"

Sebecloki |

"Uh, I would love to provide you said map, but I've only just arrived in town. So, I'm not much help there." He looks to Ameiko. "Could you supply our guest here a map?"
The wayward child of House Kaijitsu nods,
"Well, then, shall we all repair to the town archives? I'm sure we can dig up something suitable there."

Aleister, Lissala's Chosen |

"Sounds good, lead the way. Shall we take the prisoner with us?" He pauses and turns back to the sorceress. "Apologies, I have been most rude and never even asked you your name. If we're to be allies, it would be best to have something far more appropriate to call you then 'prisoner'."

Henric Logos |

Henric snorts to himself. That's rich... "Prisoner" works for me, after the mess she created and the worse things she wanted to do. Good thing I'm not the one trying to be polite. He refrains from commenting though, and simply readies himself to travel with Aleister and Ameiko to the archive building.

Sebecloki |

Belor regards the ground with a wary expression,
"And how exactly, pray tell, do we propose to keep this sorceress, or whatever she is, perfectly under control while we transport her to the Turandok Academy to examine the available local archives."
The shoanti warrior sniffs contemptuously at the air,
"It seems to me that's a rather glaring omission from this plan of yours."

Aleister, Lissala's Chosen |

Aleister sighs heavily, "You've clearly never dealt with magic users much, have you? Bind her hands, place a blindfold over her eyes, and a gag her mouth, and you have limited her ability to cast as best as possible." He says in a patient tone, like one adopts when speaking to a child.

"Of course, my lady. I am happy to do so," Vincent replies sincerely. Without conscious thought, he checks the revolver on his hip, making sure that it can be drawn quickly.

The Lady Ameiko Kaijitsu and the newly-arrived gunslinger known as Vincent Bloodmoon soon return from their short expedition to retrieve a map of the town of Sandpoint from the archives of the Turandok Academy.
As she returns to the dungeons of the Sandpoint Barracks, Ameiko raises the vellum scroll containing the map for all those gathered to inspect. She flashes a wide grin.
"Here, I've got the goods!"
She quickly unrolls the map on a nearby table.

"Tessa."

Sebecloki |

Once Ameiko returns with the map, Aleister address their captive. "Alright Tessa, we have a map, can you show us where this 'hidden place' you mentioned before?"
The hooded half-elf makes a circle with red ink on the map.
I highlighted it on the map I posted a link to above.

Sebecloki |

"That seems a rather large area, do you think you could lead us to an entrance." He looks at his companions "Assuming we want to go and investigate this further?"
Ameiko seems galled by Aleister's apparent rush to action,
"Wait, you're planning on just barging in? Don't you think that's unwise, given our existing knowledge of our enemies? I mean, surely they will know that we are coming?"
"We don't even know what this place is or any details -- all this 'Tessa', if that's even her real name, has done is draw a circle on a map."

Aleister, Lissala's Chosen |

Aleister sighs "I did not suggest we 'just barge in'. All I asked is if we could be shown an entrance, and if we wanted to even bother investigating any further. Which I would imagine would include more information gathering, and verification of what we've been told."

Ameiko snaps back,
"Well how on this good earth was I supposed to know that? All you mentioned was 'investigating further' based on finding an entrance. No reconnoitering, or any battle plan of any sort mentioned in that statement. So don't be getting all huffy and out of sorts with me if I question the simple facts of what you said."

Before the discussion becomes more heated, Vincent attempts to soothe Ameiko while gently holding her hand. "My lady, this day has begun with much unsettling news between the attack and the appearance of your departed sister. I do not think he meant any offense, but if you will it, I will challenge him for your honor."

Aleister, Lissala's Chosen |

"Listen little girl, if you can't make an educated guess as to what I might have meant when I said 'investigate further', that is not my fault." The tattooed man says, in the tone of voice one takes when speaking to somebody much younger. Truly, they were all infants in comparison.

Vincent hangs his head and shakes it, thinking that Ameiko's nerves are already frayed. He hopes she will be able to hold her temper, but without conscious thought, he checks the pistol at his side.

Ameiko glares at the strange man, but simply turns her back to him as she addresses the rest of the assembled wanderers congregated in the dungeon of the Barracks.
"So, the question remains, how will we approach this mysterious lair, whatever it is?"

Vincent lets out a relieved sigh as his arm relaxes by his side again. "I'm not certain what the town's resources are, especially after the attack, but I could help scout if need be."

Henric Logos |

Henric steps forward once the tension has calmed slightly. "I, too can assist with scouting. I think we will find no lack of options for dealing with a threat like this... We are all agreed that the cowardly attacks of these zealots are contemptible, no?"

Aleister, Lissala's Chosen |

"Well, for starters, what can you tell those of us who are new here and know nothing about the town what the rather large building in the center of the map is?"
Unless that's the garrison, at which point Aleister instead asks for more information about it.
