ROFL! I HAVE missed Karrin's commentary! :D
"Hmph. Something like that,..."
Justin scratches his goatee thoughtfully as he peers at the "Dark Elf Dark" color hallway,...
K:Arcana: d20+21
Spellcraft: d20+22
Indeed Justin can see an inscription in Draconic on the wall just before the darkness begins:
Continual Absolute Darkness, Mythic variant Mantablack©️ , exclusive spell rights held by arch wizard Anish the Litigious
hee
Justin knows from his casual research on the subject that a mythic-level darkness will impose sight restrictions on even darkvision, but it will not be total.

HAW! :D
"Oof. This guy is proud of his work. Even signs it."Arch Wizard Anish the Litigious". WOnder if that was the Mummy Lord's original name? Or if he borrowed from a friend? Mythic level darkness. Even if I can dispel it, it would be very short lived. It will even affect Darkvision. But it shouldn't be total."
"You all still have those Darkvison goggles we picked up in the Underdark, right? I had to sell mine. So Looks like I'm going in blind. Unless,..."
Justin tugs his traveling spellbook from his magical backpack and flips through it.
"A-HAH! I DID scribe them into my traveling tome!" He says cheerfully.
"If you all use the goggles, I can cast Darkvision on myself. But it'll burn my emergency spell for the day. Or I can just let you all lead me through."
I picked up and scribed Darkvision, and Darkvision (MASS) for just such emergencies after the Dark elf escapade! :D

In areas of darkness, creatures without darkvision are effectively blinded. In addition to the obvious effects, a blinded creature has a 50% miss chance in combat (all opponents have total concealment), loses any Dexterity bonus to AC, takes a –2 penalty to AC, and takes a –4 penalty on Perception checks that rely on sight and most Strength– and Dexterity-based skill checks. Areas of darkness include an unlit dungeon chamber, most caverns, and outside on a cloudy, moonless night.
In this case - if you have darkvision the light level is equivalent to dim light

Justin watches Alessia as she enters the doorway of darkness and vanishes within.
"OK then. Guess someone with goggles is leading me. No time for sillyness like,... preparatory spell-casting." Justin snaps his book shut.
The wizard tucks his traveling spellbook over his shoulder and back into his magic pack. He then reaches out and gently grabs the end of the tassels on Memnon's orange cap. Justin pulls the wobbly Mimir close.
"Easy there Mem, You're sticking with me. You are in NO condition to go wandering off on your own."
Justin waits for one with Goggles of Night to lead him. He holds onto Memnon so the damaged and apparently woozy Mimir doesn't get separated.
Justin blinks, and looks at Memnon.
"I just realized, I never asked. Can YOU see in the dark?!?"
Dungeon Monkey
The skull waggles affirmatively
“Oh yah. I got darkvision. No worries. Here, hold on to me and I’ll guide you “
Justin walks into the pall of inky blackness. The darkness is absolute, but Memnon guides him to the stairs leading down in a spiral. Fortunately the stairs are enclosed, so aside from claustrophobia, there is little danger of falling
MEANWHILE…
Alessia can see, though dimly, and there is not much to see but a featureless staircase. She walks down, the tip of her sword making a *ting* sound with every new step it hits. She gets to the end of the stars after about 200 meters of descent and the final five meters or so open up into a large room. Alessia sees it stretch off into the distance, but with the dimness she cannot see the end. The room is filled with statues - both whole and broken. Mostly humanoid, but a few monsters as well. They are placed randomly around the room

"I'd better go give her back-up," Karrin says, "I can't imagine what it's like not being able to see in the dark, but I think this dark elf dark might give me a small insight into what it's like. Anyways, be back in a bit, please don't stare directly into the sun."
Karrin will fallow Alessia in case she needs help.
Hamar of the Hyena Tribe
Hamar will stay right in front of the mimir in the marching order.
Hamar has darkvision as well.
Justin Case
"Give a scream if you encounter anything nasty down there." Merle yelling into the darkness after Justin
"You know I will. You'll know it's me by my manly, high-pitched squeal."
Justin replies as he vanishes into the absolute darkness. On the DARK stairwell, the wizard is nervous, but trusts that the Mimir's gentle side to side tugs are deliberate, and not the after-effects of his injuries. With one hand on the wall, the other holding Memnon's cap tassels,
and the reassuring *ting* of Alessia's sword indicating each step, Justin manages to make his way down teh stairs without mishap.
Until Memnon suddenly goes full reverse, just in time to prevent the wizard form colliding with Hamar in front of him.
"What's up? Are we at the bottom? I can't see ANYthing in this soup. It's darker than a Great Hag's soul in the negative plane in here!"
I presume that Memnon can relate what you posted above?
