How did she change appearance?

In the Town:

Making her way down the worn cobblestones of the Lost Coast Road, Ynja soon comes upon the chaotic scene that has consumed the until recently placid environs of the Shrine of Desna. It appears that a powerful explosion has annihilated the local shrine of the exploratory vessel known as the Takomi Nagasama.

In the Town:

As she came close to the deviation she slowed down. Looking to see who was there that she been with. Somewhere in that pile of burning wreckage was her old body. No she had to find out what was going on. She looked a lot younger than she had done, a new face and as yet a Elan nature only just starting to show. She was taller now as well, now she was getting use to this new form. It was faster than her old one but weaker. A young womans body. But it was all she had and so it would become her new form. She know she would get use to it, she had always before. As she passed thought the clusters of towns people. Working to deal with the damage and help the hurt. She looked for Shi'Vatha. She would know it was her, she had a higher form that could see her owns, well she hopped so.

The plot device I was imagining was that she was in the body of a member of House Kaijitsu, and I'm unclear if she's now altered her appearance so that this is not evident.

You're in the same general area as everyone else now, so I think we can dispense with the spoilers.

The pristine environs of the Shrine of Desna have been thoroughly devastated by some kind of fiery assault. The acrid odor of soldering soot stains the formerly sweet scent of the mid afternoon autumnal breeze.

On the shores of Lake Tagomi, Ynja's recent companions appear to be gathered around a cloaked figure.

That's cool GM, her being in the body of a member of House Kaijitsu, is still there. It's just she dose not know that yet I think. To her its just a young womans body who passed away and was put in the odd lab.

Ynja Eva Ragnavold made her way too her recent companions and the cloaked figure they where standing around. She came close to Shi'Vatha.

She concentrated and sent a short telepathic message to her. missive

An unfamiliar young lady, apparently of the same eastern extraction as members of House Kaijitsu, such as the Lady Ameiko, joins the small group gathered around the cloaked sorceress.

What does Aleister know about the Shadow of Wrath? Recall, he is from Azlant and lives throughout all of Thassilon.

Aleister, Lissala's Chosen: Knowledge (Arcana, Religion, History):

Alaznist (pronounced a-LAZ-nist) was the last Thassilonian runelord of wrath who ruled for many years over her realm of Bakrakhan. She is believed to have retreated from view along with the other runelords during Earthfall, and it is unknown whether she survived that cataclysm. She was a specialist in wrath magic, now called evocation, and was said to have been a puissant arcane knight.

She ruled from her capitol of Xin-Bakrakhan, the City of Wrath, which is believed to have been located on what is now the island of Hollow Mountain in the Varisian Gulf. As she has been dead for almost 10,000 years, no one can be sure of exactly what she looked like, although statues that have been found depict her as a beautiful, yet enraged human woman with long hair, flowing robes, and wielding a thorny ranseur. She is said to have been impatient and impulsive, caring little for magical research, and preferred modifying her many troops by magical means.

Alaznist is said to have been a worshiper of many kinds of demons, who shared her enthusiasm for violence and destruction. Most important to her, however, was the pure veneration of anger and wrath. In order to encourage these traits in her subjects, she built many runewells which could absorb the souls of wrathful mortals in order to further her power and create sinspawn. The Runelord of Wrath seems to have directed most of her anger toward her fellow runelord, Karzoug. The two were in a state of perpetual warfare constantly battling at the border their two realms shared. She constructed the Hellstorm Flumes along their mutual border, in order to scorch harassing armies from miles away. She is also known to have used runeslave giants as living siege weapons, and is said to have created reefclaws in order to protect her rivers and other bodies of water.

Bakrakhan (pronounced BAK-ra-khan), the realm of wrath, was one of the seven nations which formed the ancient empire of Thassilon in northwestern Brun.

At the time of its destruction caused by the impact of the Starstone, Bakrakhan was ruled by the runelord Alaznist. The eastern border of Bakrakhan was a mountain range known as the Rasp, which today forms the western coast of Varisia. Most of the kingdom sunk beneath the sea during Thassilon's destruction and now lies at the bottom of the Varisian Gulf. Bakrakhan was at constant war with neighboring Shalast and its ruler Karzoug, and to this day, remnants of their feud can be seen along the coast in the form of ruined towers which were once called hellstorm flumes. Other ruins of Alaznist's kingdom are the Irespan in Magnimar and the mysterious Hollow Mountain, which was once her capital city of Xin-Bakrakhan.

"You... IDIOT! You could have gotten us all killed!"

She gestures grandly around the scene of desolation,

"And just look at the mess!"

Please remind me, whose body is that exactly? Panic you're in a bad spot, as Pai Song is friends and familiar with House Kaijitsu. Being good natured and a Paladin, simply taking over the body of someone else, no matter if dead before or not, isn't really acceptable. Even less when it's someone who was kinda close before. And that is after the action of needlessly destroying the site before.

Pai Song turns around as she is being touched and hears a voice in her head, eyes going wide.

Sense Motive: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (19) + 12 = 31

I daresay in a combination of getting a hunch and sensing enchantments etc. Pai Song can instantly determine that this is indeed not the former member of house Kaijitsu, but somebody else, possibly Ynja.

You? she says loudly in a questioning tone.
What? And how? ... Where is?

What did you do now?

Aleister was about to reply to their 'captive', when a stranger shows up seemingly interrupting them. He turns to her "You seem lost, but this is not the place for civilians. Please depart before you end up hurt or worse."

She looks at Aleister and Pai + others.

"It's me, Ymja"

She holds out her arms up and dose a turn.

"As for the change in form, well to tell you the truth, I wake in it about half an hour again. In what seemed to be some mad mages lab with two very odd individuals. Who talked about me being the 'one' I did not stick around to find out what one was OR their diabolical plans for me. I ran away as fast as my new longer and much younger legs could take me"

she puts her arms down.

"I can take you back to them if you wish, once we have found out who was behind this if you like."

She looks over at the captive.

"My intent was to save as many of the towns folk as possible from being incinerated by the fiery siege engine of death I take it. So blasting it to kingdom come seemed to fastest way to save them, your welcome."

She looked at the blast results. In a far more consistory tone she adds.

"Admittedly the blast was a LOT bigger than I thought it would be. That was a miss calculation on my part I will Admit."

Shaking her head as she looked about.

"That must have been a far more advanced concoction of ferry death than I would have expected, so kind of sorry about that."

Pai, It's the body of the late Fumiko Kaijitsu who passed away just before the festival. What is odd is you can see flashes of power tattoos on her arms and legs. As her body seems to be changing as its slowly being infused with Ynja Elan nature. The body being literally being infused with psionic power.

^Sense Motive 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (13) + 12 = 25

She looked at Pai, she could see she was none to please, it was more than her act in destroying the weapon, it was her, no.. it was this body. This body was some how known Pai. Ynja held out a hand and she looked at it closer. Flashes of images came. It was always like this when she moved to a new form. The soul was gone but the flesh remembers. It was jumbled and made no logical sense. But there was sadness here.

Who where you in this world?

She asked of her form.

Over to you Pai

This is not Fumiko Kaijitsu. Fumiko Kaijitsu died recently. This seems to be the one known to us as Ynja, who caused the explosion on the museum ship. You should detain her. We need to investigate how she was able to possess this body. It's unnatural and a blasphemous act, disrespecting our revered dead.

She looked at Pai

Sense Motive 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (12) + 12 = 24 Pai is not joking!

O Poop!!, She's serious,

She thought fast, if she was going to get locked up, well then let's get us ALL locked up. So far she had been talking low, now her voice was clear for all to hear.

"NO PAI, Someone tried to kill me but, But I have wards"

She holds up her arm with the power tattoos on.

"I am Fumiko Kaijitsu!, why would you say this about me.... Unless O MY GODS!! IT WAS, YOU!!,"

She points at the others with her
"YOU SHOW UP WITH STRANGERS AND THEN ALL THIS!!"

She backs away, shaking her head is disbelief at her own thoughts. Bumping in to the locals looking on.

"YOU ARE BEHIND THIS, YOU AND THE STRANGERS!!"

She backs away, pointing at Pai and the others,

"WHAT IS SHE DOING HERE WITH THIS VIOLENT STRANGERS,, ALL THIS DEATH ALL THIS DESTRUCTION!! YOUR PART OF THIS!! ARREST THEM!! PAI AND THE STRANGERS, ARREST THEM!! THEY DID ALL OF THIS!!

She backs away more pushing men to take action and engage. She starts to cry in fear, a young girl in fear of her life, but odd violent strangers.

Bluff 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (19) + 10 = 29 O yes.

Male Azlanti Pureblood Bloodlord 3/Monk(Tattoo Monk)

Aleister looks at this stranger, perplexed. "I am unsure who you are, but you appear to be quite confused. Moments ago, you identified yourself as Ynja, and took responsibility for the destruction of the ship and shrine. Due to an admitted miscalculation on your part. You also claim you awoke in this new body roughly a half hour ago, in some sort of mad mage's laboratory. Which you said you could take us to." He pauses letting his words sink in.

"Yet, now you say you are actually Fumiko Kaijitsu, and accuse us of being the ones behind the destruction you moments ago said was your fault. I believe you need to make up your mind as to who are, and what you have or have not done. "

Don't know if there's any townsfolk around us, but if there are, the monk turns to address them.

"I am recently arrived in town, but as many of you can attest, I helped direct you away from the explosion, and saved the life of the small boy behind me. I had no part in the destruction of his grandfather's ship." 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (11) + 14 = 25 Diplomacy via Linguistics due to Golden Parlance.

As Alesister talks, Ynja/Fumiko just keeps talking over the top of him, drowning out his voice.

"DON"T HEAR THEIR LIES, THEY WHERE HERE AND DID THIS, WHO ARE THEY TO TIE UP PEOPLE AND ACT LIKE THEY ARE THE LAW, WE HAVE LAW HERE, WE HAVE OUR OWN GUARDS!!! THEY COME HERE AND DO THIS!! BURN OUT TOWN, BLOW UP A SHIP!! LOOK AT THEM LIE AND TRY AND JUSTIFY WHAT THEY DID TO US, WILL YOU JUST LET THEM COME IN AND DO THIS, DO WHATEVER THEY WISH TO US!!, WHO ARE THEY, WHY ARE THEY HERE, I SEE NO WANTS NO RANK OR HOUSE, THEY ARE OUTSIDERS, VIOLENT OUTSIDERS BRINGING DESTRUCTION TO OUR DOOR, OUR HOMES!! AND NOW THEY TAKE PRISONERS UNTO THEIR OWN, THEY THREAT ME! THEY THRENT US ALL!!. LAW! GARDS, OFFICERS!! ARREST THEM!!"

It seems as if the increasing commotion has attracted the attention of the local constabulary who are currently surveying the wreckage. The shoanti sheriff Belor Hemlock strides into the little gathering around the cloaked sorceress.

"Well met strangers, who is this, and what seems to be the matter here? You're all curiously standing about in the midst of a great deal of activity, and I would know the reason."

He gestures at the many fire marshals and other tower personnel darting feverishly about, attempting to cleanse the flames that still threaten to entirely consume the until recently luxurious ornamental gardens of the Shrine of Desna.

Simultaneously, a pair of knights outfitted in distinctive helms that resemble the heads of eagles appears at the periphery of the quickly escalating encounter between Ynja and her companions.

Pai Song:

A silvery voice manifests in Pai Song's mind,

"Greetings, esteemed minstrel, allow me to introduce my own person and that of my trusty squire and traveling companion. I am Helmut von Günzburg of the Heldannic Ordnung, and my associate is the Ritter Friedrich."

"It appears as if you are in wont of a reliable witness as to the exact nature of the events that have recently transpired vis a vis the maritime shrine of the venerable Kaijitsu Clan. I should be happy to contribute a confirmatory witness to your impression of events in exchange for certain species of assistance in our future dealings."

At the sherriff's observation, Vincent surreptitiously gestures at the fires and a light mist begins to form which turns into a drizzle, then a light rain, and finally a moderate downpour.

Precipitation 4: Rains that automatically extinguish unprotected flames (candles, torches, and the like). Such rains impose a –2 penalty on ranged attack rolls and on Perception checks. In addition to automatically extinguishing any unprotected flames, rains of this magnitude cause protected flames (such as those of lanterns) to dance wildly and have a 50% chance of extinguishing these lights.

Sheriff Belor looks on with wonderment.

The two newly-arrived, and strangely-armored, knights appear nonplussed. One smiles knowingly, a decidedly sinister smirk cutting right across his pale face.

Henric addresses the sheriff's question, ignoring the drama going on behind him and keeping an eye on the sorceress. "Well sir, I can answer some of that. This woman is a sorceress, and seemed to have led the attacks leading to the damage in the town. We caught up with her as she swam from the burning ship. She claims to be acting as an emissary, though she has not yet named her mistress." Besides exploding the ship, possessing a body, what dead or alive, is against nature and a serious crime. Even though I don't know what sinister magic is behind it, it can't just be tolerated like that. I demand Kumiko-sans body to be given back so we can hold her in honor.

"Puk-Wudjie!" Belor uses the Shoanti term for the militant goblinoids.

"I had heard rumors from our advance scouts that such creatures had been sighted in the nearby woods, but never would have imagined they would dare an assault on Sandpoint itself, much less in broad daylight."

"How is it that these filthy creatures concealed themselves from the attendees at the Swallowtail Festival."

Hearing the little boy's sudden exclamation draws Aleister away from the sheriff momentarily. "Ah ha, trying to leave the scene of a crime? Think you can just slink away before we determine if you're guilty or not?" The tattooed warrior accuses Ynja.

The shoanti lawman makes a traditional warding gesture,

"Speak not Her dread name, stranger, or it will attract the unwanted attention of the Mother of the Night!"

Another human male, this one possessing an auburn beard of impressive mien, and swathed in an elegant, and likely expensive, cloak of luxuriant blood-red velvet, trimmed with elaborate golden filigree, interjects,

"Hm... the Old Watcher moves again amongst us? Sheriff Belor, do the medicine men of the Shiikirri-Quah Tribe preserve similar memories as the early records of this town -- namely that the hobgoblins, the race of warlike monsters that some of the older Varisian midwives refer to as the 'baubau', once inhabited this territory in large numbers, and that some of the more depraved of the indigenous Shoanti Tribes and Varisian Clans even interbred with the beasts? I can only wonder if we are witnessing a resurgence of the former masters of this land, who wish now, for some inscrutable reason, and by means of some newly-discovered fell powers, to reclaim that which had formerly been their possession."

The dark-skinned sheriff nods in recognition,

Aye, Schoolmaster Ilsoari Gandtheus, there is a legend to that effect, but containing more than that as well. It is said that, in ancient times, the Puk-Wudjie were a mightier people than in the present world, and that their war bands strove with those of the shoanti throughout the steppes of Velashu Highlands and Storval Plateau, at the foot of the Wyrmsteeth Range. They strove mightily with the braves of the Shiikirri-Quah Tribe as well as the other members of the Shoanti Confederacy. However, they were honorable foes, and we even lived beside and with them in some regions of this territory... until they came under the influence of emissaries from the dark power who these strangers have named. One story has it that the Puk-Wudjie delved to deeply and greedily into the earth in the search for ores to forge weapons to overcome the strength of our warriors, and in so doing uncovered something more terrible than they could have conceived, a darkness which slowly consumed their once mighty civilization..."

She stops not because of but because of the little boy calling her name.

She ran over to him and kneeling down placed her hand on his shoulders.
Checking him for harm.

"Yoshii!!, what have you been doing, are you hurt"

she says concerned, Seeing as he seems whole she adds now with some anger.

"Come, there is nothing but danger here. let's get you home Yoshii."

She stands taking his hand and starts to lead him away home.

The sheriff reaches out a long, muscular, arm to block Ynja's path,

"Seeing as the Lady Fumiko Kaijitsu is well known throughout Sandpoint to have pre-deceased her doleful great uncle, and given the strange events afoot around town, I think you, whoever you are, had better stay put for right now, while I and the rest of the law enforcement get to the bottom of whatever exactly is going on."

"Sheriff, I believe that you can add attempted kidnapping of a minor to the list of crimes 'Ynja' has committed. " Aleister says, protectively standing in front of the boy, and blocking Ynja's attempts to get closer.

Seb, is Yoshii actually the boy's name?

Yes, it is, he's a nephew of Fumiko, and a grandson of Lonjiku Kaijitsu, the head of the clan.

I wonder what kind of malevolent spirit this actually is...
Rubbing her chin with one hand, Pai Song seems taken aback by the continuing outbursts.
Sheriff you are absolutely right, it would be best when you take her into custody. If you need, i can request some assistance from the temple. Who knows what magics they can field? You should be wary and watch them tightly. I hope we can exorcise them and give Fumiko the rest she deserves!

She then turns to the knights.
Excuse me, my attention was focused elsewhere as you saw. We have only been briefly introduced. You must be new to the city? And you want my assistance in exchange for yours in some case? Should we talk about it briefly?

Well, now that you're talking to the Heldannic Knights out loud, whereas they were trying to speak with you surreptitiously via telepathy, that changes their reaction.

The knight with the peculiar eagle-helm standing closest to the erstwhile company of travelers, an undeniably handsome man whose appearance is marked by the prototypical features associated with the sinister Heldannic ideal of pale skin, gold blonde hair and sapphire eyes, frowns somewhat in reply to Pai Song's remark,

"You'll have to excuse me, gentle mistress, for I have no earthly idea to whom it is you address your inquiry. Indeed, I have made no statement thus far to you or any of the others here gathered, but have merely, alongside my trusty squire Friedrich, observed these curious and, one must admit, distressing proceedings."

"As it is, I am afraid you are mistaken very much in your asseveration of request of any species for my part."

Ynja Eva Ragnavold:

Ynja suddenly apprehends a silken, serpentine voice which reverberates strangely in multitudinous caverns of her cerebrum,

"Well, well, well, it does appear as if you, gentle lady, have dove into quite a bit of a bear trap here, does it not? Luckily, I might be in a position to offer some assistance to your person at the present juncture. Verily, it would be possible for me to offer testimony that these strangers were in fact allies of the hobgoblins, and participated in the attack on the Shrine of Desna. Of course... such aid would come attached with certain expectations of reciprocity in the future, though I assure you that all such assistance would only further the noble and glorious ends of my venerable Ordnung's political aims in this region. Hardly something to fear or avoid. Indeed, you should aid the survival of civilization itself!"

The richly-clothed man who Belor just identified as the 'schoolmaster' nods sagaciously as he interjects,

"I cannot but agree with the proposal of the noble mistrel. It is well known, both by word of mouth as well as the slightly conspiratorial expose in the Sandpoint Gazette that the late Lady Fumiko Kaijistu, niece of Lonjiku Kaijitsu, the local pater familias and grandee of the Kaijitsu clan, perished under mysterious circumstances whilst returning along the Lost Coast Road from a trading expedition."

"Her body was discovered by a regular patrol, within eyesight of the old castle which guards the road. The discovery occasioned much discussion and fright considering that the Lady Fumiko's body was strangely unmarked, as if she had simply died of fright..."

At Pai Song conversation took on an odd note. Ynja looked on, then as the Knights responded she focused in them. The froze and if held in place.
She was held there, then she smiled. She stood away from
Aleister and the child, focusing on the knights.

"Got ya!"

She said simply. She had thought bad thoughts about her fellows and they had taken the bait. With out another word she walked over to the Sheriff and offered up her hands to be bound.

With a quizzical expression, Sheriff Belor Hemlock regards the body, now apparently the host to a very different mind, of the late Fumiko Kaijitsu.

As he does so, the pale, blonde, blue-eyed knight with the strange helm fashioned in the shape of an eagle speaks up again,

"Sheriff, it will be of interest, I think, for you to know that these all," he gestures with a outstretched gauntleted hand towards the assembled companions, "were co-conspirators in the recent assault on the town, allies of the vicious hobgoblins in their cowardly assault upon the dedication of the Shrine of the Immortal Desna. There must have been some falling out amongst them in their attempt to escape, and now they seek, in their own, clumsy manner, to now evade detection by sacrificing one or more of their fellows."

He regards the Belor with a wide, predatory grin,

"I must advise you, dear constable, to take all of these into hand until the circumstances surrounding the attack have been thoroughly investigated."

She turns her head to look at the knight.

"Can I ask, do you take it or or give it?. I mean you look like a taker to me. Yes.. Your female in your relationship with your manservant there. Must be hard putting on that butch act. Knowing all you want to do is head home, put on a dress and mince around behind closed doors like a painted back street strumpet. Yes, yes, is always the powerful ones that like being tied up and degraded. I bet he spends all night ramming all manner of things where the sun dose not shine. You moaning like a farm yard milk maid."

she chuckled to herself as if seeing him with woman nickers around his ankles, she even pictured it in her mind. It was in color and animated.

"Yes that's you"

Belor regards the knight with a wary expression,

Much as one of my complexion must reflexively distrust any advice from those who wish to enslave or expunge my people from the Earth Mother, there is undoubtedly wisdom in exceeding caution given the present circumstances."

The Heldannic Knight, who had previously identified himself as 'Helmut', grimaces in reply,

"Noble sheriff, I really must protest! You make scurrilous accusations against both my race and our venerable Ordnung. The Hochmeister Reinhard desires nothing but the freedom and self determination of all peoples, and the deliverance of our civilization from the dread ensorcellment of magic and the dark arts."

Vincent isn't certain what is going on, but he knows trouble is brewing. He takes a step away from the scene toward the fire, concentrating on his small storm. He does not want to be the cause of the carnival being run out of town.

Helmut sniffs in an attitude of aristocratic disregard towards the body of the late Fumiko,

"Sodomy? I assure you, stranger, that perversions such as these are certainly not tolerated within the volksgemeinschaft of the Heldannic Ordnung. It is sickness in the blood, and corruption of the soil."
