Still immune to the tanglefoot bomb's entangling
Eshimka is still as big as a barn, and the bomb strikes easily. The death giant frowns and snorts derisively again as the foam coats a single arm.
Combat! Round 1/2. Bold may act.
I'll just tell you now: he has spell resistance.
Anyone within 30 ft of Eshimka must succeed a Will DC 25 in order to act. It is a fear effect.
Inspire Courage: +2 (bonus vs. fear does not stack with Heroism)
Lissa (-85 hp) (unconscious/stable) (sickened 1 of 2) (Will DC 25 to act if you regain consciousness)
Trey: (-0 hp) HIT
Keriassa: (-0 hp) (Will DC 25 to act) (bow: 28/40 hp, broken: -2 to hit, crit only on a natural 20, crit multiplier x2)
Valentino: (-0 hp) (inspiring) (Will DC 25 to act)
Laara: (-23 hp) (Will DC 25 to act)
Eshimka (-194 hp)
Ragnilde: (-0 hp) (Helga -0 hp)(Will DC 25 to act; Helga too)

Keriassa lets her bowhand drop to her side as she watches the battle unfold in slow motion.
will save: 1d20 + 14 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 14 + 2 = 19 ugh

![]() |

Ragnilde will: 1d20 + 15 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 15 + 2 = 21
Helga will: 1d20 + 6 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 6 + 2 = 10
Ragnilde grits her teeth. "I will NOT step back and let you walk my world."
Ragnilde will REROLL 4 stars: 1d20 + 15 + 2 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 15 + 2 + 4 = 41
No power attack, this beast is hard to hit.
Ragnilde to hit, inspire courage, haste: 1d20 + 15 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 15 + 2 + 1 = 19
Frustrated at being forced to dismount, Ragnilde calls out to the Pathfinders further off. "Some help here! This is what we came for!" I'm activating the Allied Offensive because we need the flank bonus.
Ragnilde to hit HASTE, inspire courage, haste, flank: 1d20 + 15 + 2 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 15 + 2 + 1 + 2 = 32
Ragnilde to hit ITERATIVE, inspire courage, haste, flank: 1d20 + 10 + 2 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 10 + 2 + 1 + 2 = 35
Ragnilde to hit ITERATIVE CONFIRM, inspire courage, haste, PA: 1d20 + 10 + 2 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 10 + 2 + 1 + 2 = 30
Sooo close.. activating a Moment of Glory RSP boon to add 1d6 to the result (and auto-stabilize for three rounds if things go south). Horsechopper crits are a rare and precious thing.
Glory: 1d6 ⇒ 1
----
As I read the allied offensive boon from Scar B in my downloads, it's only the initial attack that gains extra damage, and everything afterwards (regardless if you hit) is flanking. So I didn't add damage for that.
Damage HASTE hit, inspire courage: 2d8 + 13 ⇒ (3, 6) + 13 = 22
Damage ITERATIVE hit, inspire courage: 2d8 + 13 ⇒ (5, 1) + 13 = 19
Damage ITERATIVE CRIT, inspire courage: 4d8 + 26 ⇒ (6, 5, 8, 5) + 26 = 50
I'm using the "Burning Radiance" blessing from Vildeis on that one:
Vildeis damage: 1d6 + 20 ⇒ (3) + 20 = 23
(Not sure if the 2x your level bonus damage also multiplies on a crit; it's static damage which usually does. I haven't added it to the total here.)

Will: 1d20 + 10 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 10 + 2 = 31
Yeah! I get to do something!
Eyes flaring, the half-elf stares down the 'god' with a fury. You like death so much? Then go ahead and do it yourself.
She calls on Vildeis' power, then lashes out.
Using the Martyr's Shard 1 boon, giving her fist an extra +1 enchancement bonus for a minute and the ability to count as both cold iron and good.
Attack 1: 1d20 + 18 + 1 + 2 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 18 + 1 + 2 + 1 + 2 = 37 for damage: 1d8 + 9 + 2 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 9 + 2 + 2 + 1 = 17 plus Acid: 1d6 ⇒ 1 plus Sneak Attack: 2d6 ⇒ (5, 2) = 7
Attack 2: 1d20 + 18 + 1 + 2 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 18 + 1 + 2 + 1 + 2 = 30 for damage: 1d8 + 9 + 2 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 9 + 2 + 2 + 1 = 22 plus Acid: 1d6 ⇒ 6 plus Sneak Attack: 2d6 ⇒ (6, 4) = 10
Attack 3: 1d20 + 13 + 1 + 2 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 13 + 1 + 2 + 1 + 2 = 35 for damage: 1d8 + 9 + 2 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 9 + 2 + 2 + 1 = 17 plus Acid: 1d6 ⇒ 4 plus Sneak Attack: 2d6 ⇒ (5, 2) = 7
Haste Attack: 1d20 + 18 + 1 + 2 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 18 + 1 + 2 + 1 + 2 = 25 for damage: 1d8 + 9 + 2 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 9 + 2 + 2 + 1 = 17 plus Acid: 1d6 ⇒ 1 plus Sneak Attack: 2d6 ⇒ (4, 5) = 9
Will Bewilder Eshkima to lower its attack by 2 for as many rounds as she hit him (thanks to the allied offense strike providing flanking :)
AC is 36 this round, with him taking a -4 to hit me.

GM Blake |

I do not believe this will change the ultimate result, but the flanking effect occurs after the boosted attack is successful by 'you' and applies to your allies' subsequent attacks.
Ragnilde summons all of her willpower to overcome the demigod's intimidating gaze and engages him in battle. First strike cannot penetrate his iron-like skin. When she calls out for help, a green forest drake--its scales faded gray in patches--swoops out of the sky and buffets Eshimka with her wings.
Ragnilde takes advantage of this distraction, but her second strike scrapes down his side like nails on a chalk board. The third finds a weak point in his armored body and Vildeis' power flows through the blow, allowing it to sink in through the powerful defenses.
Laara too summons all of her strength to rejoin the battle. She flies in to engage the death giant and slams him with a powerful blow as Vildeis answers her call for aid.
Eshimka shows doubt upon his face for the first time. He roars in rage and then melts into the shadows. You can see that he reappears across the battle field, engaging with other Pathfinders and Twinhorn warriors.
As he departs, the terror his gaze instilled slowlyfades away.
Success.
There are 4 days left. However, your options are: retreat from battle or continue to fight. If you continue, you have 2 rounds to prepare and position yourselves upon the battlefield.
Combat! Round 2. Bold may act.
I'll just tell you now: he has spell resistance.

Yeah, take that you m- Laara curse cuts off as she sees Eshkima (or at least a fragment of him) emerge in the distance. Oh come on!
She turns to the others. If he's really just staying down if Medda gets through and does her little dagger dance, then she'll need a path. We have to clear one.

**OVERSEER ANNOUNCEMENT**
Her dark armor riddled with arrows and sliced by a dozen blades, Eshimka staggers back from the nearby Pathfinders attacking her. With one blade-arm she beckons for more of her shadowy minions to reunite with her body and heal her wounds, but other Pathfinders have slain too many for any to answer her call. For the first time, Eshimka seems worried, fighting for her survival rather than leading her army.
Table GMs, the Eshimka Defeated condition is now in effect, ending the ongoing hazard.

"I concur, friend Laara." Trey agrees, fluttering down to the party. He retrieves another vial from his belt, downing the draught to raise a shield of force around him once more.
Extract of shield and then probably his greater invisibility on the second round.

Keri moves over to her fallen friend and lays her hand upon her shoulder.
Two LoH for Lissa: 3d6 + 3d6 ⇒ (2, 6, 6) + (5, 4, 5) = 28

![]() |

Lissa groans and scrambles to her feet when Keriassa heals her enough to bring her awake, half-expecting to still be in battle. With a relieved sigh, she brings her own hand up to her chest to further her own healing. "We still have a fight on our hands?"[/ooc] she says, still looking a little tired. [b]"So long that it's not round 2 with that horrid thing, and I think I'll hold back and snipe some too."
Taking 1 Burn to use Kinetic Healer on myself. That'll give me another 10 NL, and increase my Fortification effect to 20%
Kinetic Healer: 5d6 + 15 ⇒ (6, 3, 3, 3, 1) + 15 = 31
With Keri's LoHs that should bring me to -26HP and 40NL

Seeing others tending to Lissa, Ragnilde tries to use the most powerful scroll they've been given by Medda.
caster level (DC 12): 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (1) + 9 = 10
avoid mishap (DC 5): 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11
Frowning, but a blush is hard to see on a moss troll, she turns the scroll the other way up. Trying again in the second round of preparation.
caster level (DC 12): 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (12) + 9 = 21
She uses the SNA-6 scroll to get 1d3 SNA-5 critters, ankylosauruses specifically.
how many beasts?: 1d3 ⇒ 3
That's both of my rounds used.
Three huge dinos start coalescing from the ether. Between us and whatever direction the army is gonna come from.

You do your best to get ready. Since the army surrounds you, Ragnilde stations an anklyosaur in each direction the danger may come. Unfortunately, your threat comes from the sky. A huge, dark shadow swoops across the sky, blotting out the stars as it passes. You feel that familiar dread welling up in the pit of your stomach as the dragon's wings beat the air above you.

As the dragon swoops forwards, Laara’s eyes widen. Then a smile peeks out. All right, another one. Let’s see if you drop ads nicely as some whites I’ve seen.
If Valentino is planning on singing or casting something, Laara will wait for him. Otherwise:
Aloft, the half-elf races through the air to charge the new arrival. Lugning forwards with a strike she taunts. I’m not scared of you. But you should be of me.
Charging and lunging, striking for non-lethal damage. If it hits, she will try to intimidate the dragon, and sneak attack will trigger due to the Scout’s Charge ability. She will lower the sneak attack by one dice to sicken it, and will Disorient it to hurt its attack rolls (so if this all works, it’ll be shaken, sickened, and -2 to all attacks (-4 vs me)
She will also use her Knockout ability: It needs a DC 20 Fort save or goes unconscious for 1d6 rounds (gets another save at the end of each of its turns to try and wake early)
Attack: 1d20 + 20 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 20 + 1 + 2 = 27 for nonlethal damage: 1d8 + 9 ⇒ (2) + 9 = 11 plus sneak attack: 1d6 ⇒ 2 plus acid: 1d6 ⇒ 1
Intimidate: 1d20 + 23 ⇒ (1) + 23 = 24
Not counting any potential Valentino bonuses beyond he haste (which should still be up). Though with those rolls, Laara is no regretting this decision :p

Even Valentino-bot can tell Ragnilde nothing specific about this strange and powerful dragon.
Valentino-bot begins his inspiring performance. This boost in confidence is just enough to encourage Laara to not hold back, and she manages to hurt the dragon--a little--and although it is not intimidated in the slightest, somehow this tiny love tap knocks out this huge dragon.

@GM here's the stats of skeleton Eshimka according to hero lab. Looks right to me but if you see anything that looks off let me know. I'll save these actions for my next round. Just regular inspire courage for my bot round.

It will likely all be moot in a few hours, but do you want Laara to have hit or to raise a giant skeleton?

![]() |

As much as I want to play with my new dance of the dead ability, it's kinda complicated and probably better to just buff my allies. Let's just go with inspire courage +2/+2 and I'll not fuss with animating Eshimka after all.

Ragnilde to hit, haste, inspire courage: 1d20 + 15 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 15 + 1 + 2 = 24
Probably no dice. But just in case:

Helga to hit, haste, inspire courage, greater magic fang, charge: 1d20 + 16 + 1 + 2 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 16 + 1 + 2 + 2 + 2 = 39

As the dragon crashes to the ground, the ankylosauruses warily converge. One of them gets close enough this round to take a whack at it. I've counted the water as difficult terrain for them, but since Eshimka turned most of the vegetation to ashes I thought as huge creatures it wouldn't hinder them anymore. (Helga was under the effect of Mass Feather Step anyway.)
Ankylosaurus, shaken, inspire courage: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (6) + 14 = 20
Damage, blugeoning: 3d6 + 12 + 2 ⇒ (1, 2, 2) + 12 + 2 = 19
If it hits, the dragon has to make a DC 23 fort save or be stunned for a round.

**OVERSEER ANNOUNCEMENT**
A screeching wail cuts across the battlefield as Eshimka falls to her knees, her undead horde routed to all sides by the combined Pathfinder and Twinhorn forces. The nightshade cries out in anger and dismay, “No! How could mortal worms like these strike me down?”
As if answering the question, Medda strides forward, battered and bleeding before her blessed armor begins to glow brighter and brighter. Cast in the shadow of a nearby standing stone, the dwarven apparition of the paladin warrior Ivvora seems to mirror Medda’s movements and guide her steps. As one they respond, “Eshimka, this battle began a millennium ago, and it ends tonight. Vildeis has judged you and found you wanting”. Producing a dagger of white fire in one hand, Medda and Ivvora both plunge their blades into the undead giant’s chest. Eshimka’s mouth opens in a silent scream as light pours from her eyes, mouth, and the wounds inflicted by the Pathfinders. The nightshade’s body crumbles into ash that the wind scatters across the snow, and the dying rift at last closes.
The towering dwarven ghost salutes the gathered heroes and announces, “You have all proved yourself worthy of Vildeis’ attention. Pathfinders, you have defeated a great evil, so let your tale of your bravery shatter your enemies’ courage while bolstering your own. Medda and Anok, you have made me proud and finished what I could not. Go with Vildeis’s blessing, and keep vigilant—evil never rests.” Ivvora smiles and looks up to the stars as she fades away and the blessed armor returns to its normal sheen.
Medda looks to the champions surrounding her. “Everyone, I cannot put into words how grateful I am to all of you. You have stood by my side through all these hardships, and at last we have triumphed! Eshimka is forever destroyed, and we the Twinhorn following have found true allies in the Pathfinder Society. Call on us in your hour of need, and we shall come to your aid. For now though, the danger has passed.” She and Anok give one last look to where the planar scar is already healing.
“Let us celebrate at last.”
Scenario (and series) concluded. Thanks for playing, everyone, and thanks for all your hard work, GMs!
