Ragnilde (carefully, considering the claws) slaps Lissa on the back. "Glad you took him out, I was sure he'd strike down next and I wouldn't have wanted to take a nap in that place."

Is there time to heal up before we start the ritual?

Ragnilde and Helga ride into the sky to ravage any undead hordes foolish enough to try to close in on their position.

Ragnilde and Helga for story purposes, but not for successes. I'll let you use either Ragnilde or Helga's bonus for this type of thing though, just pick which splat a couple of zombies that shamble past, which stops them causing a disruption.

Keri's magic is also helpful, but Valentino can't seem to quite hit the right notes with his aid.

Yes, you can heal up if you want, just put in a post with who is doing what. who whom.

With sufficient magical might, the ritual takes on a life of its own. However about twenty minutes into it the rift starts to warp, as if angry at the assault upon it. Dark energies surge outwards, playing havoc with the finely woven ritual and causing many of the ritual focuses to crumble to dust!

Time to go again!

Lara and Helda provide some perimeter support, while Trey does his best to provide support to the rapidly failing regents. Valentino assists massively, having readjusted his expectations to the presence of the negative plane portal, while Keriassa continues to provide power for the ritual itself.

Slowly the complex ritual is stabilised, and still the power continues to grow. The entire team is working hard, and ritual continues onward. The Twinhorn spell casters are really showing the effect now, and the weakest ones start to collapse, putting an even bigger strain on those that remains.

The energies involved through continue to increase, drawing still further undead into the area to try and disrupt the ritual. All hands on deck!

You are doing well! And onto the third round of activity..

The professor continues his good work, keeping vital reagents coming for the spellcasters in the ritual. Kerissa and Vanentino step in to provide much needed magical energy, while Laara takes out a giant zombie with finesse, style and a fair amount of physical force.
Speaking of physcial force, Helga tramples through a mass of undead spiders, sending bits of exo-skeleton flying in all directions.

And through this all, Lissa does her bit to keep the energies in balance.

The ritual reaches a point of stability. A tired looking shaman comes forward.

"That you for your assistance. I'm not sure we could have done it without you."

He extends out a scroll tube.

"And as you helped us, may this help you with what you must yet do."

**OVERSEER ANNOUNCEMENT**

The combined Pathfinder and Twinhorn forces have beaten back the worst of Eshimka’s vanguard, and their spellcasters are hard at work repairing the damage around the planar rift. It seems there is at last a lull when a pair of blade-like arms stab through the rift and tear it wider. The wound releases a wave of negative energy that crashes into the mystics’ wards, though the shock causes the trees for hundreds of feet around to wither, their limbs snapping off and turning to ash before hitting the ground. Through the widened rift steps a towering giant with sinister horns, shaking the ground with every step as her army follows her: vampires, towering suits of armor, hungry corpses, and even a powerful dragon! Medda’s shout carries over the din. “Eshimka is here! Strike now!”

The giant laughs thunderously as it regards the mortals around it and tears of pieces of her own flesh that turn into nightmarish beasts. “The living are no match for my might. Spread out, and reduce every one of these mortals to dust!”

Table GMs, please begin the encounter Eshimka’s Assault.

I forgot something that you were supposed to do at the beginning of your turn not his turn. But fortunately, it's not that bad on catching up.

As Lissa gazes upon Eshimka to aim her blast, she finds that she cannot stand to assault the god before her and begins to cower in fear where she stands.

"Who do I punish first?" Eshimka's mental voice roars in your minds.

He takes a step forward, the hardened foam cracking and shattering like a thin layer of glaze. The dead grass and fallen branches that litter the ground around you disintegrate as he nears. Those of you who had not felt the dread of being in the presence of this demigod before begin to feel it now.

He makes an off-hand swipe at Lissa and cuts her deeply across her arm. She also feels the wound burn before it becomes completely numb as the flesh freezes. With his other hand, he lashes out at the paladin's bow, the blade striking with supernatural swiftness. The bow cracks and the wood turns brittle. Severely damaged, the bow is still functional as long as Keriassa is careful.

Combat! Round 1. Bold may act.

I'll just tell you now: he has spell resistance.

Since you know that only Lissa was affected at the onset of battle, I'll give you the range. Anyone within 30 ft of Eshimka must succeed a Will DC 25 in order to act. It is a fear effect.

@Lissa: If you have a re-roll and want to use it on that save, go ahead. If successful, I'll apply the damage.

And yes, he got those two standard actions. He's special.

Keriassa's first shot is deflected by Eshimka's iron skin. Her subsequent shots manage to penetrate the armor and the profane protections thanks to Erastil's blessing. The demigod turns his attention toward the paladin. The air around Eshimka vibrates with a deep, pensive thrum.

Tamara....no.....

Question GM: Laara's Headband of Unshakeable Resolve allows her to reduce the severity of a fear effect by one level 3/day. I'm guessing this ability isn't really a normal fear level thing, but just want to confirm.

Correct. It is a specific fear-based effect different from shaken/frightened/panicked track.

Eshimka blinks once and raw evil explodes in your midst. Lissa seems particularly affected, but everyone else grits their teeth and manages to bear through the wave of power.

Before any of you recover, he steps forward and slashes his bladed arms through the air. Lissa falls to the ground, soundly unconscious. Laara finds a long gash spring into existence across her abdomen. Eshimka breathes in deeply, savoring the destruction.

A pair of Twinghorn priests are nearby. Seeing your injuries, they quickly channel life restoring energy toward you. Eshimka roars in frustration.

"No! These are my kills!" he projects telepathically and then rips off a piece of his flesh and throws it at the priests. Shadowy beasts rise from the discarded flesh and chase the priests away into the melee around you.
