With a sigh she moves back and ushers Lucifer forward.
"You try. For some reason these things are giving me trouble."
As Lucifer works on the locks she peers intently over his shoulder, hoping to learn something new.
Kala, daughter of Krokum |
After the entire group is through the first locked door, Kala suggests: "Hey, close that behind you, just in case Stinky's fart tries to follow. Those things act like they're alive sometimes."
Stinky the Wolverine |
Sooo... You promised me more meat, and we're walking *away* from the smells. Sure, whatever meat is down there will probably give me a tummy ache, but... Hey, why is everyone giving me the stink eye? What'd I do? Stinky glances around at the party with a truly innocent expression.

This vast chamber glows with green light that seems to emanate from the stone itself. Along both sides of the chamber are emerald pools, above which loom gigantic serpent statues, their fanged maws pouring rivulets of green liquid into the pools below. On the north end is a glorious serpent statue plated with green metal scales, reaching nearly to the high ceiling. This statue is missing its fangs. In the center of its body is a glowing green emerald the size of a fist, held in place by brackets of dark metal.
Three small vipers and two enormous cobras all sway menacingly towards the pathfinders!

The giant Cyan cobra sways menacingly, seemingly waiting for the pathfinders to advance.
The orange viper, on the other hand, charges towards Uhvat... and is promptly obliterated by his opportunistic attack.
Then... the serpent statue closest to Uhvat spits out a glob of acid at him!
Touch attack: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (17) + 10 = 27

And the statue closest to Kala does the same to her...
Touch attack: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (1) + 10 = 11
acid dmg: 2d4 ⇒ (4, 2) = 6
... but misfires badly.
Just to be clear, it doesn't seem like the statues have come to life (like the one you fought earlier) but more like a mechanical (or magical?) effect of some kind
As all of this is going on, the adventurers in the room hear the ongoing sounds of an incantation in process, though it is difficult to spot the source...

Kala, daughter of Krokum |
Kala registers the incantations coming from...somewhere. That's not good. She sidles (5 foot step) over to flank the snake with her buddy and shouts an entirely unnecessary command: "Stinky! Attack!" At this point, it would be hard to stop him.
As Stinky throws himself at one side of the snake, Kala winds up to smash it with Orc Brains.

Somehow this instruction appears reasonable, or at least beyond questioning, to Yanda.
Yanda is now under the control of Uzar-Kus, a serpentfolk who will appear momentarily, due to Dominate Person. The instructions she has been given are, of course, against her nature and therefore entitle her to another saving throw (with an additional +2 bonus) but if she fails again then she should act accordingly. Please roleplay this in whatever way seems best to you. Good luck! To all of you!

... but Uhvat manages to dodge out of the way. Kala is not so fortunate.
A two-headed serpentfolk appears at the far end of the room, along with three identical images. All of them are blurry and hard to see precisely. As with the other serpentfolk on this level, he has both mirror image and blur active; on any attacks please roll a 20% miss chance (high is good for the one rolling). I'll determine whether the attack hits the real Uzar-Kus or an image after first processing the miss chance.
"Invaderssss!" he hisses, "I will teach you the error of your ways!" He waves his hands about while uttering more incantations and a ball of fire flies from his hand! He centers the blast on the statue at the back of the room, seemingly unconcerned whether the serpent-god might take such amiss...

End of Round 2
Ashwell and Tofang can act. (Anyone want to bot Tofang for him while he's on vacation?)
Firewarden Yanda |
Having a very limited range, Tofang will just do a double move to try and get close enough to be able to shoot the annoyance.
I assume the riding dog died in the blast. If it did not that would allow him to ride within range and be able to shoot. Otherwise, with his 20' movement it is going to take that double move action to get near enough.

Out comes a bomb and it flies towards Uhvat and includes Kala in the radius.
to hit ranged touch: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (15) + 15 = 30
damage: 4d6 + 7 ⇒ (2, 5, 3, 1) + 7 = 18, Uhvat catches fire and Kala takes 11 damage splash, DC 20 Reflex ST for half splash

Fine with me to retcon Tofang's action. U-K gets one image back and Tofang has a readied action to shoot him with a dragon breath cartridge. Please specify the readied action trigger.
Yanda, you get an additional +2 on your save - unfortunately that is still insufficient.
The fire warden seems to have lost her mind! She turns on her comrades and blasts them with one of her bombs!
Kala Reflex: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (11) + 8 = 19 +1 vs. cold effects
Kala takes 11 fire dmg and Uhvat takes 18. Uhvat is also on fire and will take 1d6 fire dmg at the end of each of his turns until the fire is extinguished (Uhvat, you can roll this yourself if you wish, or I'll roll it for you after your turn).
Pathfinders are up! The bold may act.

If he takes a move action to actually move out of the area, or any standard action.

You'll have to give a specific trigger, such as: "he starts to cast a spell." Also, if you want to post the readied action in a spoiler feel free to do that just to keep things moving along.
Lucifer Belthrue |
Lucifer activates his Vanish ability as he draws his sword and slips closer to the caster.
Vanish for 8 rounds
Draws Sword
Moves 20'
Stealth +Vanish: 1d20 + 21 + 20 ⇒ (14) + 21 + 20 = 55
Firewarden Yanda |
Has to be that specific? OK then, spell it is.
Ashwell |
Ash hears the trouble from Yanda, and decides he doesn’t want to crush her mind. Her moves 30’ forward, so he can see her and casts Ill Omen (Will DC 16).
If successful, she has to make two d20 rolls and take the worst on her attacks.
Also, could someone move me on the map? Thanks.
Kala, daughter of Krokum |
Kala cries out in surprise and anger as the fire bomb explodes beside her. "OWWW! The fudge! Yanda!" [i]She's gotta be mind-controlled, but man--![/b] The only one she can see who could've done this is the two-headed serpentfolk at the other end of the room. She charges toward it, pointing with her warhammer and shouting: "Stinky! Attaaaack!" She uses her momentum and an Animal Focus boost to add extra force to her swing as she tries to make its heads act like one of those click-clack toys.
Cold Iron Warhammer +1: 1d20 + 9 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 9 + 2 = 231d8 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 4 + 1 = 8
Cold Iron Warhammer +1: 1d20 + 9 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 9 + 2 = 291d8 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 4 + 1 = 8
Includes Haste and Animal Focus bonuses
And hey, if Yanda throws another bomb at her, maybe it'll hit the two-headed snake person too.
She didn't officially "charge", as the stairs are difficult terrain. Activating Animal Focus (Aspect of the Bull = Strength +2) is a swift action.
Stinky the Wolverine |
Stinky is just about to take a big bite out of an even bigger lunch when the fire bomb hits Kala. KALA!!! OH NO! You're hurt! Who did that to you?! --What? Attack the two-headed snake guy? ON IT! I'll make sure he doesn't hurt you! He pelts across the room and pounces into position beside his Kala, growling something fierce.
OH! I forgot to mention on Kala's post that she and Stinky have the Coordinated Distraction feat, which increases the DC to cast defensively by 2 for each threatening character.
Firewarden Yanda |
I adjusted the position of Tofang to where he would have gone with the mount doing a double move.
GM Abraham |

That's how every GM I've had has run readied actions for me so I'll stick with that until I learn otherwise.

Ashwell moves into the room and inflicts some bad luck on Yanda.
Yanda Will DC 16: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10
Kala runs forward and attacks the serpentfolk. Kala, unless you have some special ability I'm not aware of you can only attack once when you also move, so I'll just disregard the second attack roll.
20% miss chance: 1d100 ⇒ 26
Her attack misses, but she manages to burst one of its images. You missed the AC but came within 5, which automatically bursts an image.
Stinky advances into position.
Uhvat is up!

Are Kala and Stinky ok with taking damage from Tofang's area attack (if it triggers)? PFS rules require players to give permission for this.
Firewarden Yanda |
I put Tofang where he does not need to include them in the cone.
I put the template on the map.
Kala, daughter of Krokum |
Kala, unless you have some special ability I'm not aware of you can only attack once when you also move, so I'll just disregard the second attack roll.
You're right; I forgot that Haste only gives an extra attack when you don't move.
Are Kala and Stinky ok with taking damage from Tofang's area attack (if it triggers)? PFS rules require players to give permission for this.
If the damage will be 5 hp or less, they're fine with it; otherwise, they're not.
Uhvat Balanos |
The ever stoic Uhvat grits his teeth in pain as his stony flesh starts to burn.
Is the greenish area water? If so, he runs over and jumps in.
Out comes his lash as he slams it into the serpentfolk.
