With all the goblins and the goblin dog dead, you now have a bunch of empty buildings you can check out.

All around you are several buildings that the goblins call home.

Pen 5:

The interior of this squat, wooden kennel is filled with hay and stinking excrement. A door leads to the east.


Buildings 6:

These foul-smelling buildings are filled with filthy piles of rags and straw.

Building 7:

This wooden shack is built more soundly than the others. It contains a large bed stained purplish-black with sludge, and a short wooden table piled high with maps and papers.

Building 8:

Crudely fashioned tools hang from hooks along the eastern wall. Drawings of questionable skill cover the remaining walls, depicting humans being crushed, dismembered, or otherwise mutilated by elaborate and impractical traps.

The floor of this small building is recessed into the ground about a foot and filled with viscous purplish ooze. A crudely carved image of a three-eyed face decorates the far wall.
You find some notes written in common, as if it was found and brought here.
Demon's Bile
What you learn about Demon's Bile from the notes is that demon’s bile that covers a 10-foot-by-10-foot area or greater has a 50% chance to spew forth fiendish vermin every 1d4 days. Any good aligned damage, damage from cold iron weapons, or positive energy damage applied to any 5-foot square of bile destroys it.

This note isn't written into the scenario, but I am supposed to give you a knowledge check for it at this point if we haven't figured out what it is yet. Since the chronicles allow all knowledges on goblins at a 40, I am just going to give it in this section.

You all come up to the cavernous entrance of the cave in the back of the goblin base.

Just outside, you see someone come out. They look like a young female human. "Thank goodness! Someone who isn't a goblin! Quickly, you must help me. Any moment now their leader is going to be coming out of the cavern looking for me. If we work together we can end him quickly and cease this threat once and for all!"

She wields some plate armor, a shield, and a Masterwork Longsword.

"Long story short- I was captured not long ago. My name is Nixa Volsetti of Saringallow. The bugbear, Mezodarath, seems to be communicating with some foul evil and has been using the demon's bile to empower his army of goblins."

"He wanted to force me to turn against Saringallow and infiltrate it to turn as many people as possible when Mezodarath and his goblins attacked. They were planning on feeding me the demon's bile to turn me, though I do not understand exactly what would happen."

Loud roars and cackles are coming from within the cave.

"He smashed my cage when he heard the fortress above was under assault; no doubt he wanted to end me in his anger. It was good luck that I managed to get away and grab my weapon and shield before he could catch up. With you here, we can stop him and end this now!"
