Im here, I'm putting together an alias to use. Any character build rules that are significantly different? I figure at lvl 1 not a whole lot needs to change on our end.

We can figure out how everyone came to know each other, and come up with a group name.

Natloz here. Just to reiterate current rules (that are going to affect me): automatic progression, weapon finesse gives you dex to damage for one weapon (I'm building into unchained rogue so that isn't particularly relevant), Power Attack, Combat Expertise and Deadly Aim are free for all, even if you don't have the prerequisites.
So basically we can save a few early feat choices.
As for a party name... I'm a big fan of alliteration. So far we have a barbarian and a monk. I forget what others are playing so we'll figure out a good representative name in the next few days I suppose.

I'm here and checking in. The fourth is going to be a great time to start as I'll be busy getting ready for a new quarter, and then starting it, up until around then.
Todoth here is an alchemist who's fascinated by the history of Wati and by the Sphinxes in particular and should be somewhat flexible for filling party needs as we go.
For the party name I don't have strong opinion, though I'll start by throwing out the Steelguts Surveyors (or Survivors) to acknowledge that that it was Steelguts who pulled us together (even though GM Tom has been kind enough to push us forward.)
In any case, I hope everyone is having a great end of the year and look forward to our adventure starting soon!

The oppressive Osirion sun beats down on your half-orc skin. After a month of traversing the wastes, your green skin has been burned and chafed to a dull red.
You approach the southern edge of the city, and see a large obelisk dominating the eastern portion of the city.
Passing through the throngs of people, most of them give you a wide berth.
Eventually, you find a large open marketplace clustered between two imposing structures. The main gate to the marketplace has a rope spanning its two pillars, adorned with disembodied hands.

The sun inches its way into your cramped apartment. The sounds of the nearby harbor, and the bustling of the Sunburst Market below you rouse you from sleep.
A small pile of coins sits on the table beside your bed, and you wonder when the temple's generosity will run out, and you'll be forced to pay for your own accommodations.

Jabari wakes up grogily and smiles at the pile of coins. I guess I should show some sort of progress if I want that to continue.
He gets dressed and heads into the market seeking adventurers looking lost in hopes to guide them to the tomb "exploration" registration area and garner some favor to be able to accompany them.

In his background, I wrote that Mahzuzi has already registered the name "The Winds of Fortune" for a group that he is trying to bring together for the lottery. I can easily change that if we come up with something else we prefer! :) It looks like none of us are particularly well-armed or armored, so depicting us as a sort of desert whirlwind that blows this way and that might be evocative.

Quick question: Do we already know each other? Have we formed a company or is this our first meeting? I'm assuming it's the former-- perhaps we met the night before at the Tooth & Hookah?

I would imagine we met before. I think the adventure assumes the characters are an established group at the start.

I noticed I hadn't put any equipment on my character sheet. I've fixed it now though. I wasn't very precise with the accounting of it but I didn't buy anything that was overly expensive. It think it is around 50 gp total. If we are still starting with 200gp I think I'll just pick up some alchemists fire or something like that as well.

Alchemist fire is good, and can I suggest a few scrolls of cure light wounds? You coming from the temple would be a good justification for having them, and Mahzuzi can cast them if we have an emergency.

Im a sadist so I'm planning my build for a couple levels. Farid, I saw thieving skills come up in relation to you. Were you planning on taking levels of rogue? If so we can coordinate to not overlap each other to terribly much because I was going to take at least 4 at some point.
Also, I added those extra items to my sheet including the scrolls.

My plan is to take 2 Barbarian levels for every 1 Rogue levels I take but initially go every other level to level 4. Is there a skill you want to focus on? For Farid it was going to be finding and disarming traps and picking locks for his focus.
That's cool, I'm taking unchained rogue levels for the sneak attack and free weapon finesse, everything else is gravy. I'll get enough in disable device to reliably aid another but I'll just use the skill points elsewhere. Sense motive seems like a good choice one I get the skill unlock.

Yeah, my archetype actually gives me the trap finding and disabling as well. We should have those well covered.
