Cwm slashes at the flying creature and finds that his blade slices clean through it without damaging it whatsoever. Yngvilda finds both her shield and axe injure the creature, though it only seems to be half as effective as normal. Eldon, Penny and Icilias all miss due to the tight constraints of the battlefield layout.

Icilias gives Penny that look that often only passes between noblewomen as they banter with words like duelist do with swords. "Oh yes, my dear. Please do teach me your ways. I can feel the lesson taking root already." Despite the mocking and condescending tone, there is a friendly (if slightly wicked-looking) grin on her face.

As she speaks, she steps into the spectre in front of her, studies it's movements and habits, and slashes at it with her scythe. "Yngvilda, Cwm. Would one of you be a dear and provide a bit better opportunity, please?"

Aid Another
Source PRPG Core Rulebook pg. 197
In melee combat, you can help a friend attack or defend by distracting or interfering with an opponent. If you’re in position to make a melee attack on an opponent that is engaging a friend in melee combat, you can attempt to aid your friend as a standard action. You make an attack roll against AC 10. If you succeed, your friend gains either a +2 bonus on his next attack roll against that opponent or a +2 bonus to AC against that opponent’s next attack (your choice), as long as that attack comes before the beginning of your next turn. Multiple characters can aid the same friend, and similar bonuses stack.

Cwm moves to the next area, daggers at the ready.

TG1 | GW | FF | RH

Moving south, you enter a burned dormitory where afire long ago immolated the contents of this room, leaving the narrow cubbies black with soot.

Six Grioths are here and quickly move to engage you as you enter the room. These are the same type of creature you mopped the floor with when you entered this building. It's a CR1 and a waste of a fight. You win, handedly.

Defeating the annoying pests, you complete your exploration of the eastern wing of the building and move west into the courtyard.

This courtyard surrounds a dry fountain. A statue of a woman wrapped in a flowing robe stands in the center of the fountain, her arms extended as though reaching up to touch the sky.

Knowledge History/Religion DC18:
You identify the statue as a depiction of the founder of this order-Saint Kyerixus.

With nothing left in the courtyard, you exit and move north and turn west at the corridor junction, heading back through the door you entered earlier. Continuing west, you reach a pair of double doors you press open and find another empty room.

Narrow pillars painted blue and gold support the ceiling in this shrine. At its west end is a large statue in a mother-of-pearl -lined niche. The figure sits in the lotus position, hands clasped and eyes closed in prayer.

Knowledge Religion DC18:
This room to be one of Irori's serenity halls. The statue radiates moderate enchantment magic, and once per day, a lawful creature who sits and meditates before the statue for 3 minutes gains the effects of a bless spell for 6 hours.

When you are ready to move on, you head southwest and open a door into another courtyard. The vegetation in this quiet, open-air courtyard has been lovingly tended. Small purple berries grow on the nine plants in the middle of the a rea. A small brass bowl sits near one of the bushes, a few bright berries within it.

The brass bowl contains 12 active goodberries (CL 8th).

Finally, you head out and east to the last room on this floor, the assembly hall. Eight pillars painted with faded quotations and prayers from Irori's teachings support the ceiling of this large
chamber. A statue of a man with a long braid stands to the south.

These stairs head up to the next level.

Perception Dc20:

A scroll still resides in the statue in a bone scroll tube.
Scroll of marionette possession.

Two sets of stairs to choose between, these and the ones you found earlier to the east.

Knowledge (religion) vs DC 18: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (14) + 7 = 21

"Can you feel that?" Tykent motions to the stone figure and smiles at Yngvilda and Cwm. "Take some time to absorb this feeling of Irori's serenity. Perhaps it will stay with you for a time after you leave." He gently shoos the other two out into the next room.

I'm uncertain if the Hall grants the boon to only one person per day or to each person only once per day. If the latter, I guess those two can argue over who gets it. But they should be sure to argue serenely, of course. XD

"Icilias, could you give me a hand?" Tykent fusses around the base of the statue in the large assembly hall and points out a part of the base that isn't connected to the rest of the rock. "Thank you so much. Oh, and look at this - Penny! You might enjoy this scroll!"

Makes sense to me to take the stairs here - less backtracking.

Taking the stairs up, you enter a large room where the ceiling of this twenty-foot-high room is painted with a scene of scholars at study. A polished wooden statue of a woman sitting in the lotus position, eyes closed in meditation, hangs from the center of the ceiling on several lengths of thin twine so that it seems to levitate.

Squatting amid dozens of tattered books at the center of the north wall is a hulking, mammoth sized creature. It looks like the winged monsters you fought many times before, but this one is the size of a horse! The beast shrieks loudly and attacks.

Icilias moves up to the creature along side Yngvilda, scythe in hand. "Can you believe it, Yngvilda," she banters with the warrior woman as she takes a swing, "they do get uglier as they get bigger!"

Cwm's dagger cuts through the creatures wings and it roars in anger at the party's opening assault.

The creature is unable to shake of Tykent's hex, which lowers his defenses. Yngvilda's bash further reduces the creatures defenses, just enough for Icilia's scythe to find purchase in its right side.

Since Cwm acted first, the creature targets him with its large, semi-transparent magical falchion. He swings twice, only connecting on the first strike, but doing Cwm damage: 2d4 + 13 ⇒ (3, 1) + 13 = 17 damage with its strike. As Cwm is struck, he is recalls pain suffered in the past and he takes an additional Cwm Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 1 points of nonlethal damage. Finally, he lashes forward to try and bite the rogue with it's razor-sharp teeth, but it thankfully misses.

The grioth fights off Tykent's extended evil eye attempt, but that is negated by his chant which helps continue it regardless.

The party then puts forward an excellent demonstration of their martial capabilities as everyone lands attacks and pile up a significant amount of damage on the grioth. Only Penny's attack fails and misses, unable to properly see the LARGE grioth that takes up nearly the quarter of the room.
