@Oceanshieldwolf
Yeah I was thinking something along the lines of that cause I could have possible ties to the Kaijistsu family with their father being from Tian- Xia, and I was also thinking of going Monk of The Sacred Mountain instead of Empty Palm.

I was looking over other player's submissions and noted a lack of divine casters.

If such continues I may withdraw Gara and Instead apply a Divine Caster to support the party, although with Spheres in the mix I could be wrong because after all Spheres allows basically any caster to heal.

Of course you can apply with whichever character you want, but my spheres Scholar (Doctor archetype) can heal as well as a cleric; he just does it differently :)

Bards can heal in a limited manner too, but I always prefer a divine somewhere in the group myself if possible, but not absolutely necessary.

Hence goes to show how unfamiliar i am with Spheres, My friends want me to get I to it, But I frankly don't feel like learning a new system when it is designed to be used along side the existing one.

Think I'll just use the existing one.

Besides, I'm not into Pathfinder for the combat anyway. My character is a Samorai for Pete's sake. I'm playing this character because the idea of the character appeals to me greatly, sure it would be nice to survive and continue to play, and i could easily build a character that can stand back, flick a wrist, and win. But I much prefer to build a character that is balanced, less likely to survive, and more likely to struggle. I feel great joy when my character prevails despite missing three times, losing half his HP, and getting his armor sundered only to roll a critical hit and decapitate my enemy with one blow.

I find that much more fun ^-^
Although this has led to one kf my funniest characters, a monk tengu I played that would get reduced to 0 hp or take enough non-leathal to get KO'ed every combat, my party called me the amazing feinting monk.

Well, everybody can have fun the way the like as long as they don't mess up with the rest, that should be a basic premise.

No, let's stick to the base Canny Scoundrel Rogue for now.

Gara Voreata wrote:

Also, Just a quick question regarding the Tengu swordtrained trait:

Would this grant me proficiency with all blares, or just those in say- the fighter weapon group "heavy blades"

Neither. It gives you proficiency in all sword-like weapons, whether light or heavy. A switchscythe is a heavy blade, but you would not be proficient with it. A dogslicer is a light weapon, you would be proficient with it. Hope that makes it a bit more clear. If you are unsure about a specific weapon, feel free to ask.

If you would like to change your submission, feel free. Party balance isn't something I weight very heavily, but it wouldn't hurt.

That goes for everyone. If you are seeing a unfilled role in the potential party, feel free to create a character meant to fill it. One character submission per player, but you can tweak and even completely change that submission until the deadline.

If the characters I like create a traditional party, great. If everyone can heal, that works too.

@Brainiac Thanks for crunching up the phantom.

Dark Archive

Well, thanks, but I am trying to clarify, as there are many weapons that look like swords, but don't work like them, or are just sword on the ends of poles, like the Naginata. If you broke a Naginata, the blade on thw end(although heavy) would still function as a sword pretty well.

I suppose it would be better to assume any weapon that is bladed and works like or similar to a Longsword. You swing it, it cuts. That opens 75% of all slashing weapons up :P, and a few piercing weapons, but mostly slashing.
If it's slashing, and not an axe or polearm then I can use it. Oh, and not Scythe.

DM Red-handed wrote:

I'm not sure if we are talking about the same thing. Canny Scoundrel is an Archetype. In this case, the Archetype is granting a Martial Tradition, which you get to choose from these or, with GM permission, create from scratch.

So I was wondering: Now The Japanese had a larger Version of the Katana That was basically the Greatsword of the Katana called an Odachi(or Nodachi), and i was thinking of possibly using one in this game... Now the easiest way would be to simply bump the damage of a katana to Greatsword level and make it two handed, but I wanted your opinion as your gonna be the DM, so I wanted to run this by the person who has to deal with a 2d6 18-20 crit monster of a sword.

I imagine the 18-20 crit rate might be an issue but with it being an exotic weapon that isnt that bad, as I will be the only one able to use it effectively.
The only other defining aspect is the deadly, a +1 to confirm crits, which is mostly what separates Katana from other swords

I mean the katana varients are all just shortsword and Longsword with deadly, and a slightly larger crit rate.

It would also be reasonable to assume the Odachi would cost~ 100-500gp due to it's size and the ratio of price between exotic and non-exotic weapons, so I wouldn't have it at lvl 1 :P

Ah yes, That however is a pole arm, I am talking about a Greatsword basically. I was pretty sure it was called the Odachi, or perhaps Dai-Katana might have been a more familiar name.

Looking for a really big Katana basically, like a 4 ft long blade.

Silver Crusade

I know, character is more important than mechanics (I totally agree with that). But I've been spending far too much time looking at Spheres of Power and Spheres of Might and they open up characters that are flat out impossible in base Pathfinder. So, to at least that extent, mechanics may well influence mechanics.

Note, this is the first time I've seen the rules and I have a few questions.

1) Are we also allowed to use Champions of The Spheres? (I'm looking at the Prodigy which at first blush seems to be hugely over complicated AND hugely overpowered. So I'm almost hoping you say no :-))
2) On a semi related note, is it legal to take a Core Pathfinder class and take things from BOTH books? For example, a Bard can take Martial Training (yay whip) AND use the Archetype in the Spheres of Power book. Not sure if this is acceptable or not (both in terms of legality and in terms of power)
3) It looks like it is possible to make significantly overpowered characters, even at level 1. Is this an issue (ie, should I consciously TRY to make a character that is about as powerful as a normal Pathfinder character)?

@Gara
The nodachi is a two handed long version of a katana. It’s frequently considered the Japanese equivalent of a claymore.

Yes, you are right. Sorry about that. For now, assume approval for your Knife Fighter tradition. We can revisit it later if need be.

Gara Voreata wrote:

For now, no. Though I certainly see the appeal. If Paizo didn't see fit to introduce a 2d6 18-20, I won't either.

However, I would be open to a modified nodachi that replaces brace with deadly for a more sword-like rather than pole-like weapon. Deadly may be different than what you are thinking though.

1) I shall fulfill your hopes, no.

2) Yes. They are meant to work together and with regular pathfinder classes. Link me the specifics you are thinking of.

3) Yes and yes. I like the spheres because they allow characters that the regular rules don't really work for, such as a low level weather-witch. However, they require a certain amount of tact and restraint. Don't let your inner munchkin loose here.

Mostly, Spheres try to close the gap between martials and casters, so you will find that, with spheres, both are easier to play, and martials will generally experience an augment on their power curve while casters will see a smoothing - not being useless at the beginning and overpowered when advanced, as in Core. Generally, you might think that you start a lot better thanks to having a ton of talents, and you usually do, but remember your giving up other things for it. Talents are super cool, but you'll never have enough to do all you want to do :P Also have in mind that, as much powerful abilities talents can grant you, the most damaging thing a martial can do is still a full attack, and that is something SoM doesn't support.

That said, I have put stats and fluff (finally) to Igmutanka, and he's an example of what SoM allow a character to do that the Core won't, i.e., having different options.

Heh, I had wanted to purchase a naginata like thisbut didn't realise it was a reach weapon in PF.

I don't mind reach weapons generally, but wasn't looking for one for this character.

@DM Red-handed: Any chance I can, if submission is accepted, use one like the one pictured and drop the reach out and drop the critical down to x3 instead of the listed x4?

I'd like to throw Eswain's hat into the ring - I recently crafted her for a RotRL campaign, but she was not picked. I believe she meets all of your criteria, with the sole exception that I took a Drawback for a third trait - I can easily remove this.

I'm also going to copy/paste the posts from the other thread in here, so I wouldn't have to make the same arguments again.

Swarm Monger Druid 1/Legate Gray Paladin X. The Druid level is my dip - the rest would be as Paladin.
Planned Feats - 1) Nature Bond, Fey Foundling; 3) Boon Companion - Familiar; 5) Animal Ally; 7) Boon Companion - Animal Companion

GM Approval Needed:
The familiar she gets from her Druid archetype will be capped at level 1, until she takes the Boon Companion feat - but it will then be forever capped at 5 unless we go for more levels of Druid, which I have no intention of doing. As such, I took a few more liberties with the raven than I would otherwise bother to, and need to get GM okay first.
First, I applied three familiar archetypes to it - Ambassador, Animal Exemplar, and Sage. The first two can stack as per normal, but Sage breaks the rules. Allow me to attempt to justify this.

Ambassador and Sage both modify the familiar's Intelligence progression - the Ambassador stops it at 6, and advances its Charisma instead at the normal rate. Sage increases the Intelligence progression to 5+Effective Druid Level, but halves the normal natural armor bonus. My personal reason for arguing for this is that, by EDL-5 (the cap), it will have an Int 10, Cha 8 and NA+1. As a Swarm, this particular familiar would keep the natural armor bonus, so by cutting it like this I'm hindering its use in combat - it is unlikely higher-level enemies would even be distracted by the swarm, and its damage will never increase beyond 1d6/round. It's weak and ineffective as a combat partner, something I swapped the Druid's Nature Bond feature for (and then will be replicating at the cost of three feats, one of which is my Human bonus. Mechanically that's a bad decision, but it fits her theme, and I'll offset her weakness by...well, by being a Paladin. However, I've even weakened that slightly by going Gray Paladin - I hate to use this as a justification, but the pally that is focused and optimized is a mean class in Runelords, and not as situational as usual.

Ambassador and Sage also replace Alertness - this is easy to justify for me, as Ambassador simply gives a different feat in exchange (one that isn't shared with the master like Alertness anyway), and Sage takes it away in exchange for 2sp/EDL and the ability to make Knowledge checks untrained with a +0.5/EDL bonus to them, while also losing the ability to share the master's skill ranks. This means that the familiar will be limited to 10 skill points in total, whereas normally it would still gain my skill ranks despite its personal level being capped at 5.

I will elaborate much further re: flavor once my kid goes to bed tonight, but for now, I view Malthus as an emissary of Abadar - its purpose in existing is to teach Eswain to be a Paladin. I will not lie, I do intend to use the Animal Exemplar abilities to have the familiar build an "army of ravens," but I do not forsee more than one or two instances in the entire campaign where that could even be useful, and one is before those abilities will even kick in.
-----
Next, for the same reasons as above, I swapped the base raven Weapon Finesse feat for Master of Your Kind - while Ambassador lets this kick in at level 3 instead, it is still unusable before then. However, Weapon Finesse is redundant on Familiars, so an advantage early is neither gained nor lost.

I did the same for the horse granted by the Friends and Enemies trait, replacing Run and Endurance with Narrow Frame and Well-Trained. As a lifetime native of Sandpoint and an animal breeder/trainer, I'm also reflavoring the lore of the trait that Eswain was given the "best foal of his stock" rather than a trained adult horse - wouldn't make sense that she would take one like that anyway.

Concept Justification:
While I hope that her background will provide justification enough, looking at this character from the outside is a difficult thing to do - it's all over the place.
I like the paladin class for this campaign, but I was not inspired by the traditional Golarion pally orders. Additionally, the Fey Foundling trait implies something is decidedly off about a character, and I wanted to highlight that with Eswain. She is a literal wild child from the wilderness - in a homebrew, sandbox-ier style, I'd argue for the GM to reveal that she's not actually human sometime later in the game - and was forced into civility and order by "normal" humanoids in a community. I tried to imagine the psychological effect of this on a person, while not being as Jodi Foster about it as the movies. My conclusion was that she would become obsessed with order and structure, seeing it as the hallmark of rightness. However, her nature is to not be so ordered - to that end, I have her dedicating herself to imposing order upon nature.

Lore-wise, Abadar is the God of Cities - but cities are not self-sustaining, and the larger and more ordered a civilization is, the more outlying support is required. Farmers for food, cloths and leathers; fishers; loggers and miners for building materials - these are all vital in the functioning of a city, so why would Abadar not support these as well?

The raven fixation is admittedly modeled after the League of Legends character Swain - but the choices for Swarm Monger are limited, so when raven was an option it's clear why my mind took me there. And while many farmers consider birds to be pests on their crops, they also prevent crippling insect infestations - thus, trained birds would be nothing but a boon to farmers, and indeed the interior of the cities as well.

With the Nature Soul/Animal Ally feats, plus a second Boon Companion, I get a true Nature Bond as well, though limited to yet another small list. This isn't an issue, as Abadar is fond of golden eagles - but even a full-level eagle is low down on the combat spectrum of companions. I have not gone about seeing how I'll develop that one yet, but I'm sure it will be similar to the raven - a beacon of Abadar's faith to show Eswain the way, and mechanically scout and get help over acting in combat itself.

There are a lot of extra animals - a monkey, 3 ravens, 5 thrush, 2 mongooses, 2 goats, and 10 common cats. I have their tricks listed, but the only ones trained in Attack are the cats, and only the simple version. However, I do not plan to take them into combat - it is another part of the theme. At her farm, she keeps upwards of 100 cats. While they're "common," she has bred them to behave more akin with wild species - in addition to vermin control, their primary purpose is to guard her livestock. Many farmers keep a few donkey with their cattle, as a donkey will fight a coyote and serve almost like a guard dog in that respect. For Eswain, these are her cats (one of Abadar's favored animals, as well) - they guard and protect her herds, and woe to the dozen coyotes who think they can fight ten cats each.

For our campaign, the cats will likely disperse after we leave Sandpoint - she brings them with her into town to set loose and find any vermin that are around as a service to the people (and free food for the cats). They monkey (Abadar's main favored animal) will stick around but is strictly non-combat - his main use is as an aid for daily chores, and he knows Break Out should that ever come into play. The ravens and thrush are scouts and watch guards, also trained to seek out the familiar, Ameiko, and/or Ilsoari Gandethus - the usefulness of which is up to you, as they'd all just fly back to Sandpoint. The mongooses are the trackers, like dogs would be in these scenarios. The two goats are the nannies who bore the marked kids, freshened and producting milk but also ready to be shorn, so she brought them to sell the angora and milk them. I will probably drag them along for most of the campaign until they're impractical, but they're just for the milk at that point, as well as the bearers of omens or what have you that's indicating Eswain's about to be a Paladin.

Lastly, I will opt for Gray Paladin in order to have the Neutral requirement from Druid, as well as Legate to remove the need for metal armor or the crazy-priced replacements that're offered. I may or may not take Mount, depending on the flow of the campaign, but I do not want to throw yet another combat animal onto the field, and the skillset I have is built is not optimized for riding. If it is an alternate, it will likely be the Archon Bond, as having debilitating, glowing red eyes also fits with the swarm of ravens and general impending doom vibe - however if my dips have hindered my self-healing (which is the primary "tank" mechanism here), I'll pick Agathion Bond.

Brief Backstory:
Eswain was discovered roaming the unnamed forest near The Three Cormorants (now called Shank's Wood) by Niska Mvashti and her company of Druids in 4685 AR when she was around nine years old - completely feral and unable to even speak, the Druids were forced to improvize their Wild Empathy in order to calm her and bring her to Mvashti Manor. Madam raised her for three years, slowly but steadily integrating her into society - at least to a point. She asked to be sent to Turandarok Academy in 4689, where she split her time between studies, helping with the younger children (including the infant Tsuto Kaijitsu), and escorting Madam Mvashti into the woods to learn of more natural ways - it was during these hikes that Eswain felt most at home, though she yearned for the structure and order provided by city life.
She left Sandpoint proper in 4694, where she established a small ranch near Weasel Creek, raising mostly chickens, goats, and pigs. She developed a fondness for stray cats, and soon large numbers flocked to her land, where she integrated them into the herd as protectors and guardians of her livestock.

Her well-behaved and markedly trained animals grew popular among Sandpoints more self-sufficient residents, and it wasn't long before she was sought out as a trainer and supplier of "city chickens" and other farm animals typically too obtrusive to be kept within the walls. In 4699, Lonjiku Kaijitsu acquired her services for a centipede infestation in his glassworks, and Eswain bred a small army of geckos for the nobleman, trained to exit their enclosure to hunt at night and return during the day.

She gained some small noteriety in 4700 when a minor swarm of locusts moved down the Lost Coast and over Sandpoint - a raven, which no one who knew her had seen her without since she was a teenager (though none could say for sure that it was the same bird) flew from her shoulder and burst forth into a swarm of its own, making quick work of devouring the pests - and she was rewarded by an extension of her property by the mayor.

In 4702, Lonjiku approached Eswain again, but this time with a new problem - his daughter had run away a few hours prior, and he wished for the Druid to find her and keep her safe. Eswain met with Ameiko on the road to Magnimar, using birds to pinpoint her location. Under the guise of acquiring a new breed of goat from Janderhoff, Eswain escorted the young woman to the city, where she regularly reported her status to Lonjiku.

News of Ameiko's mother's death sent the girl home, and Eswain (who had indeed found goats reknowned for their coats during her stint in the city) returned with her. Lonjiku rewarded her with a hefty sum, which Eswain used to expand her ranch once more, leading nearly to the boundries of Biston's Pond.

During her frequent visits to the city, Eswain became acquainted with Sabyl Sorn - the monk was intrigued by her large stature, and pestered the druid into a wrestling match. Though Eswain was always at the disadvantage, both from her misshapen leg and her lack of martial training, she enjoyed the bouts, and they became regular occurrences.

One such visit is today - with the Swallowtail Festival kicking off the dedication to the new cathedral, Eswain and her troop of animals has arrived in the city. She hopes to sell the coats of two goats during the festivities, as well as celebrate the accomplishments of Kendra Deverin and the rest of the townsfolk.

I'd still like to fully-flesh her backstory, but I may not have time before Friday - I'll be working on it, though! Otherwise, she should be complete enough for a review.

Ah, The PF Nodachi is a martial weapon, and frankly underwelming when I could just as easily pick up a glave and have basically the same weapon cheaper.
Alot of the other Martial polearms are alot more appealing than the PF Nodachi, esspecialy considering mechanics.
If I wanted a polearm with reach, slashing or peircing for LESS than the Nodachi's 60gp value (extremely expesnive for a martial weapon) then I'd simply buy a Halberd for 10gp, plus the Halberd has Trip, the Nodachi has only brace. Nothing is stopping me from buying a Halberd and calling it a Nodchi but the shape of the weapon.

I'm fine with just my Katana anyways, My archetype benefits better from one-handed weapons :P

Flavor is everything for me... And yeah, I had mistaken Deadly for something else.

Here is Brom Arrano, a doctor from Magnimar who's new to this whole adventuring thing. Everything is in the alias, I just need to gear him up.

GM, I believe this character is more than capable of covering the role usually filled by a cleric, but if you don't feel confident that he can do it please let me know. If there's zero chance of him getting picked I can put together a small town tinker that fills a damage dealer role. I basically flipped a coin to decide which character to go with so I won't mind if you say the doctor won't work.

Okay, Gara here is mostly fleshed out, just finalizing feats, Favored class bonuses, and all that good jazz.

Gara on the surface will appear as an honorable, But odd Tengu Samurai. Of course most would view someone who follows the Disapline of a Samorai to be honest, honorable, and Just. But Gara here isn't exactly all he seems. He is a tricky, deceptive, and cunning foe.
On the surface he appears to be structured, Honest, and pretty forward. But under it all, he frequently lies and fights dirty.
To exemplify this I took Dirty Fighting as a feat, which allows me to forego flanking bonuses to instead make combat manuvers without penalty. Later I plan on taking several of the Tengu based feats to improve my skills and in deception as well as add some manuverability to myself.

I've finally got my character put together :-). Totally different from the one that I was talking about earlier.

Everything should be in the profile. There are a few minor issues that may have to be ironed out if I'm selected

Summary :
Ciprian is a young man who has lived his entire life in Sandpoint. A good natured young man who wants to experience adventure but has never quite had the push required to get him going. He utterly loathes and despises all goblins since they were responsible for the death of his father

Mechanically, he is a Human (Varisian) Hedgewitch with the Spiritualism and Green Magic traditions. He has an unusually intelligent Fire Pelt as a friend and protector. His Campaign Trait is "Friend of the Family".

Very much a support character (although his Cougar should be reasonably competent in combat) with the Life, Nature and Mind Spheres (and the Command Talent).

Dark Archive

Oh, I forgot I took the "Friends and Enemies" trait from ROTRL anniversary, the whole story aspect of it fits better than the free horse, but since I decided to pick an archetype that looses mount it's an alternative for a chance at a trained warhorse.

Gara of course has no idea how to ride a horse, And i didn't give him any handle animal ;P he always preffered walking by the caravan, or riding in a cart.

I think I should move that rank I have in fly over into Ride, least give me some competence. Buuut now I should be better, now that I revised my skill list... (No need for climb or sense motive quite yet)

Anyways, Gara here is a caravan goer, who's family raised him in Sandpoint for a few years, before leaving in a Caravan. During the time he was in Sandpoint his father helped the locals with the goblins, and later in life Gara's father was killed by hobgoblins on the road. Gara left the Caravan to become a monk, although his father had trained him with blades before he died, so Gara Ultimately sought to combine his skill of swords with the devotion and skill of a monk.

Remembering what his father had said of Sandpoint, and remembering the city from his youth he decided to head back and use his father's influence to get help from the city, and to hone his combat skills against goblins- an easy prey for his deadly blade.

Mechanically: Gara is alot like a monk, I can get in close and wreck stuff, but I don't have as much AC, instead I'll be mostly focused on tripping, disarming, and using the Dirty trick manuver, all the while using my skill to get into flanking positions to better benefit from the feat.

And like all Samorai I will Challenge any big baddies and force them to focus onto me, while in truth I'm exposing them to my allies, of whom I will not complain about. Honor means nothing if you die

Samorai/Cavelier are intended to force opponents into flanking, Either you don't focus on me or get stabbed in the back, or you focus on me and get stabbed in the back while I throw dirt in your face and disarm you :P

Oh, myc Character is made for discombobulation. First: I have improved Unarmed strike. Second: I have martial proficiency. Third: I can use disarm(while flanking) to take your weapon and then kill you with your own Weapon, hahaha!!!

I hate messing with things without a need to - and with more than a decade of Pathfinder material published, there's usually not a need to. But that Raven...to serve as the entire Paladin Order that would otherwise have trained a neophyte, as well as being some kind of face for Abadar in this weird tangent of his faith, it should be something special. Emissary is bunk unless it hits higher levels, and with the raven's progression ending forever at 1 without blowing a feat, it wouldn't even be able to communicate with Eswain (technically it could, since it's a Raven and can speak, but with Int 6 and no "special language" which I always assumed implied a very contextual and simplified form of communication (Children of Tama from the iconic TNG episode "Darmok," anyone?), it wouldn't be a very good teacher). I wanted it to be different somehow, and this is what I came up with.

Likewise, while we're starting with Burnt Offerings, it doesn't seem like you'll continue down Runelords like she was designed around. It makes little difference initially - I still want to focus her more on the Paladin aspect than the Druid, but as the other application was for replacement players, and one of the current was also a Druid, I was never going to look back at it again. While I still wouldn't want to progress Druid any further (unless I need to for the following), I may consider some weird Prestige Class, or even another dip into a primary class, if I were selected - depending on the comp of the rest of the group by the time that would happen. Paladins are great in RotRL, but not always so well-fit for the enemies you fight - this may make her fall behind the rest of the group, something I'm personally fine with and wouldn't ret-con away, but may adjust with future decisions if it gets too bad (like not taking the second Boon Companion and starting on actual combat feats instead).

There was at least one other point of recent lore for her that didn't get copied over above - well, didn't get elaborated, really. The two goats on her sheet both recently gave birth to twin kids, and all four of the kids had the distinct key-shape of Abadar's holy symbol marked on their haunches. One of the reasons Ezakien Tobyn was so well-loved in Sandpoint was that, despite his status as a Desnian, he served as an excellent High Priest for the interfaith shrine, never steering the faithful of another deity to favor his own, but allowing them to believe as they wished. Eswain has been devoted to the worship of Abadar since she became "civilized," recognizing that his teachings - and indeed, civilization itself - are what saved her from a life of potential madness and a very early death; as such, she spent a great many hours in the chapel conversing with the Cleric, and she immediately recognizes the symbols on the kids as a portent of some change. She brought the mothers under the auspices of selling the wool, but really, she wants to ask Father Zantus to examine them and get his opinion of the omen, coming to respect him and his interfaith welcomeness as much as she had Tobyn.

She would also be on good terms with Daviren Hosk personally - it was she, not some family member, who helped him fight the goblins. Sanpoint was "founded" by the Chelaxians in 4666 - if this is 4707, that was only 41 years ago, and Eswain is about 32; she's probably around Daviren's age herself (after all Ameiko buys the Rusty Dragon to "retire" at only 19), and even if she had a detailed geneology to go from, she would have probably been alive for the stated goblin fight, and the vague "familiar debt" doesn't make sense in that scenario.

I'm not exceptionally inspired tonight, so it's unlikely I'll flesh out her backstory more before you make selections later on today. It would mostly just be better prose, with maybe a single "RP example" thrown in to break up the narration - her story is all there already. Malthus (as in the Ghost of Malthus, emissary of Abadar who is said to appear to warn of impending plague) has been with Eswain her entire life - he watched from a distance when Mvasti broke her feral side, but accompanied the woman from the time of her mysterious (and still unknown) birth. He's no normal bird, after all - though I don't actually want him to be the Malthus of Abadar lore, I didn't figure it would hurt to name him after it, since it's not likely at all to come into play.

Also, as this is -not- Runelords, you're free to have surprises from her past come back to get her - I don't know where she came from, nor have any notions about her origin, since it wouldn't have mattered in an AP. You're welcome to make something up should she be selected and you feel it would be an appropriate event - perhaps she is a Shyka dispossessed of her powers and memories, or maybe she is the lost child of Count Ranalc and Nyrissa, appearing in this century since time is wonky in the First World. Maybe she's just a human, too - I'll not ask again and just let it play out, should I be selected.

I am new to these boards - I have however been part of a freeform World of Warcraft forum-based RP for the last 8 years, and have been playing Pathfinder and 3.5 before for something like 16 years. My life is relatively stable now, so I do not forsee any problems in maintaining a regular posting rate for years. Depending on my work schedule, which varies slighty each week, I should be able to make two full-length posts a day - I'm also a single dad, however, so sometimes they may have to be brief from mobile if he interrupts my usual downtime. I would be willing to commit to weekend posts as well - I do not have a M-F 9-5, so there's really little difference to me in the days of the week.

E: I like having a theme song for my characters - I've also changed hers from what I originally had listed (Antonín Dvořák - Symphony No. 9: From the New World (Movement 4)) to Brave New World by Iron Maiden. While the Dvořák piece is one of my favorites, it's too powerful for vague unknown threats. I knew what was coming in Runelords - Dvořák fit the epic battle for one's homeland. Maiden, however, fits her general theme better - and we may never have Gargantuan monsters sacking our city, so I'd rather have the song reflect her rather than her situation.

Thanks for your consideration!
