Yes, weird Vanguard thing!
What it tells me, is that SFS is probably going to break the rule I've not seen broken yet, of no one getting more than 1 reaction per round, nor being able to take a reaction before acting etc..
We'll have to be even more careful.
Combat Reflexes on the way?

Pangea Beta |

Usually if damage has two types it means half of the damage is each of the types. Let me know if it's any different for vanguard.
Vanguards actually do DOUBLE of each damage before...
No, same as everyone.
Except that you choose: acide AND bludge, or one of the two.
So I start w. both, and if one works better, or the other not as good, then I switch to the better if needed.

Okay, I guess I forgot to make sure my attack posting was actually posted (((
It disappeared, sorry.

GM Elinnea |

I’m not actually sure if you’re supposed to be able to tell which damage was reduced for an attack with two damage types. But the rules do specifically say that a character can tell if an attack is less effective so I’ll say you perceive that he has DR, and the acid damage all went through. He has also been resisting fire damage from others with those weapons.

GM Elinnea |

Sorry for the slight delay, I wasn't feeling very well yesterday. It looks like Pangea never made an actual attack for that round, and what you do will probably affect what Aldroxis does this round, so I'm going to wait for that turn.

Pangea Beta |

Sorry! I guess my post got lost again (seems I have to refresh page to have it appear).

GM Elinnea |

We made it! Thanks for playing everyone!
I'll get your chronicles done over the weekend. I haven't checked the info you posted in the beginning yet, but I'll let you know if I need more info.
Pangea, could you confirm how you're applying the credit for the playtest class? Will you be applying it to a lower level character?

Pangea Beta |

Hi!
It is going to:
Pangea-Beta
101218-702
currently level 6 (so, going to lower level, yes)
I cannot apply any Dayjob etc. (no Downtime allowed)
And although no Boons allowed to be slotted, I still get the Rep/Fame as if going for my favorite faction: Acquisitives
And... oops yes, 2nd roll w. lower bonus was athletics (((

GM Elinnea |

I'm working on the chronicles now.
Mordack, your faction is Second Seekers - is that Luwazi Elsebo or Jadnura?

![]() |

Luwazi Elsebo

GM Elinnea |

Here's the folder with your chronicles. Please check the details and let me know if you need corrections.
You got full credits and 2 fame and reputation. You earned the Iztheptar Research boon but not Brakim Admittance.

Pangea Beta |

Thanks a lot! )))))
All good for me...

![]() |

You remember at the start, we were given two choices of where to go for our initial sortie?
I would imagine that the Brakim boon was gated behind the path we didn't go down...

GM Elinnea |

That's correct, if you went to the construction bay instead of the greenhouse you would have a chance to get the Brakim boon, but not the Iztheptar one.
When I played this scenario we went for the greenhouse as well. It's a nice perk of GMing it for credit that I get to choose which boon to take, so I can pick up the other one.

![]() |

Or people who have DMed could pick up Brakim twice, one for dming, one for playing to get the existing Brakim boon and get the +2 bonus to the character.
As far as Iztheptar boon, now I'll want to purposely play modules where I have a chance to get poisoned or diseased more than once with that character.
And thanks for Gming.

Pangea Beta |

I'm saving my Brakim boons for a Vanguard.
(clue: you can get the Brakim race boon from another source too!)

2 people marked this as a favorite. |

Since this thread wasn't mine I can't mark it as inactive, but I'll put in a request with customer service. Otherwise, it will drop off eventually if nobody posts here.
