- I'm a little worried about our expedition, if the blonde twice heard why I'm here, but still asked again. Bhahaha! Don't be angry, songbird! Let's get this argument over with. Aye! It all ends in a bloody massacre in the snow! And we all know who we're goin' to kill there, despite different views!
Tulgram raises his finger.
- About my God. Listen! He was sent to the worst place in the multiverse, but 'ere He knocked out the teeth of some demon lord and took his place. He is a great warrior, He did not break where others would tremble in horror. This is an example of what we are talking about right now! He has won his place in the Abyss and will win again in these snows of the North!
His voice, which has briefly become pompous and sublime, turns into a more habitual grumbling.
- Aye! I know how it happens! First they say, "heal us! protect us!" and then 'ey say "we don't need your God." Go to hell! I know ye and people like ye... - further his speech becomes absolutely unintelligible and is clearly addressed to the inner interlocutors and not to you.

Uthred son of Uthred |

Uthred is red-haired and red-bearded - he was magically disguised as a blonde Irrisen native but reverted to his real appearance upon entering Nadya's house.
"Everyone has a role to play in this mission. If your skill is healing, then we expect you to heal. If not, all your skills and special abilities should be made clear now so that we act like a trained unit instead of capricious buffoons. Me - I like to inspire greatness in battle, and swing Bloodyfury as soon as possible. She hums in battle... When in town, I'm good at loosening tongues or browbeating someone into acceptance. Not that it's working with you! He he he!"

Tulgram Coldforge |

2 Goliath Maul
- Good point. Maybe I should tell ye more about my faith... on occasion.
He looks at Goliath strangely and with much greater interest.
2 Uthred son of Uthred - sorry, I misread this! Let's assume Tulgram saw how Uthred came to house - maybe he was not so far ahead him on the road.
- Aye, Uthred! See 'at hammer? That's one half of my faith. It's called: "a strong man owns this world, and his strength is in war and rage!". See this? It's a bag of medicinal herbs and a sacred symbol 'at gives me strength. This is the second half of my faith, and it's called so: "strong men deserve the mercy to fight again, and young or sick men deserve to grow up (or be cured) and prove 'eir strength in battle later". Bah! More shortly. I can break faces with a hammer, and I can heal yer bones when my hammer wasn't everywhere to help. Arrgh! I can also do other sacred stuff as well - just ask what ye want!'
He looks around.
- And why are 'ere only four of us, counting the silent elf? Nadya said we would have more fighters!

Halros |

"It is not that I hate the witches. The world needs balance- and where an evil witch prevents the land from advancing civilization it must have a counter. I am simply a tool of that countering."
His voice is formal, almost business like, but his deep blue eyes glow with a passion that is voice does not betray.
"Like a sword that is sharpened for a purpose, I have been shaped to counter magics- which or not. Some have employed me as an assassin. Others, as simply a threat. This time, the vault has asked me to wage a quiet war against those that have prevent Abadar's presence in these lands."
He looks over the others, with a discerning eye.
To the dwarf: "Healer is a sacred title. But, the power to bring either life and the power to bring death appear to both be yours. Your magics will be of great value on our journey.
To the redhaired human: [b]"You seem brash but loyal, and I sense in you a keen insight into how to encourage those around you to great feats. I rarely have the opportunity to fight along side those who have interest in their companions. Mercenaries and assassins rarely care for those whose paths they cross"
To the druid: "I have no quarrel with your magic. I seek only the downfall of these particular witches. Your ancestors show fierceness, which you also display. One does not earn the name Goliath by size alone. You have my respect, warrior"
"I have trained my whole life for the chill of winter, and my sword can pierce not just armor and flesh, but the very strands that hold magic together. Once I enter combat, magic slides off my person and my hide resists even the strongest of blows. A true counter-balance to the arcane. It does have its weakness though- as all magic is effected, both harmful and beneficial"
"Mind you, I carry several wands, and find value in magic before combat begins- but once my training has kicked in, even healing magics may fail"

Tulgram Coldforge |

- Bah! And orc too! Blasted bloody circus! Do ye also like to swing axe in melee? Aye, Father Frost knows, it can be a little tight. Arrrgh!

Darmok of Averaka |

"By the grace of her light and I shine under it, I am a servant of Iomedae. My name is Darmok of Averaka, and I like to think myself level headed at most times. I swing a longsword as is custom, not an axe, though if you have one you need instruction in I could well teach you how to swing such a weapon." There is no insult buried in the words, it is a genuine offer for aid. "I'm only half orc, as well. As were my parents. I come from a proud but brief line of half-orcs."

Goliath Maul |

"Nice to meet you Darmok. Thank you for your help in this situation. Thank you for making the journey. You seemed to have handled to cold well. Be warned there will be a lot more cold moving forward. We have plenty of work head of us and not all of it can be done with a blade so I hope Iomedae will bless us."

DoubleGold |

She responds Thanks for the support, ya'll. Now listen up, my daughter has been captured, Thora and they are taking her to the pale tower.
You all have cold clothes right? Or at least cold resistance if you don't? You do have Trail rations right, or Survival skill or Cleric to make food?
As all the heroes travel on the road, and it is cold with very little food, up above they see ravens, lots of ravens, dozens of them, swirling around and grouping up.

At the sight of the ravens, Halros fumbles out a knobby wooden wand, tapping himself with it. A bluish chill washes over this chest and projects forward into the area in front of Halros.

You can't accept the rage on a turn you're using a wand: "at the start of each ally’s turn in which they can hear the raging song, the skald’s allies must decide whether to accept or refuse its effects. This is not an action. Unconscious allies automatically accept the song. If accepted, the raging song’s effects last for that ally’s turn or until the song ends, whichever comes first. [...] allies other than the skald cannot use any Charisma-, Dexterity-, or Intelligence-based skills" -->Halros: these are raven swarms... AC is irrelevant and they will inflict automatic damage without needing to make an attack roll... I suggest you don't waste time with Shield spell and go on the offensive...

The skald keeps singing loudly, but he definitely appears angry at seeing all the warriors cower instead of charging into battle!
GM: where's the map for this? do you need help with maps?

Everyone prepares for the crows. They are 90 feet above you all in the air init: 2 + 1d20 ⇒ 2 + (19) = 21 I'll roll everyone's init for everyone next time, for this first fight roll your own init, I want to make sure I get the modifiers right and there might be other things affecting it. Let me know if you have certain conditions that may affect your init when you roll, like if you get a +1 in heat/cold, etc.
Map is up, slide number 6 There is no actual map for this fight, so I'm reusing a map from we be goblins, don't remember which one. Your are in snow, so those buildings and other objects aren't there, or rather they represent something else. They do however represent rough terrain, aka deep snow, or rocks or trees. If you feel like climbing a tree, only the Hexagon you see are trees, climb dc 22 and they are 35 feet tall. Passing through objects on the map count as rough terrain, and passing through a building will count as rough terrain until you are out of the building, but you will have soft cover if you stop on an object or inside a building.

In order to attack, it moves into an opponent’s space, which provokes an attack of opportunity. A swarm can move through squares occupied by enemies and vice versa without impediment, although the swarm provokes an attack of opportunity if it does so.
Swarm Attack: creatures with the swarm subtype don’t make standard melee attacks. Instead, they deal automatic damage to any creature whose space they occupy at the end of their move, with no attack roll needed.
