| "U." |
"U" suddenly lifts up into the air, avoiding the Goblin's paws.
"Warning! Warning!"
Before hovering around Del, and then having a pistol installed.

You have time for Take a Breather, we'll do an accelerated weapon mounting since it was feasible at character creation (i.e. yes, you have time), and you have time to bury the soldiers because it's creative story-telling.
Rril Suolwind
|
Rril solemnly, but quickly helps bury the bodies.
Does it look like the Azlanti armor will fit Rril?
Rril take the time to don the armor. Taking any penalties.
"If we encounter any others kids-in-wolves-clothing, we can claim that you have been detained." he explains.
| Antenor of Akiton |
Antenor looks over the scene as he listens into the conversation. He frowns at seeing the dead children, but sheds no tears.
"Azlanti Star Empire, huh. That's all they've got on them? No datapads, no credsticks?"
Antenor goes up to the two new faces, "Antenor. Pleasure, so far, to meet you. I'm the pilot of our ship."
| GM Blake |
The Azlanti Star Empire was too wise to send sensitive data on its soldiers patrolling and the soldiers, despite their youth, were too wise to carry their money into the jungle. The armor does come equipped with the typical short range communications device that you would expect in this sort of armor.
Rril dons the ceremonial troop plate. (Anyone else?)
After a swift but solemn burial for the enemy soldiers, Jellik relays what he can about the current status of the settlement. "I guess there's about thirty soldiers all total--well, twenty eight, now, I suppose. They're led by this stern looking woman in polished green armor. Her second-in-command is a man in practical gray armor and carries a sword on his back. The rest wear blue armor, like the guys we just fought," he say.
"The commander is probably inside the garrison they built. So are all the prisoners," he continues. "We should go see my wife, um, ex-wife. She's got a junk shop at the edge of Madelon's Landing. I can sneak you in through the back from the forest."
He also provides you with a detailed description of the settlement.
| Antenor of Akiton |
"Talking to ex-wives is a specialty of mine. Sounds like a plan."
He grabs up the longarms, "I can't use these, but if we're going to break up a military installation, I feel like we should be well armed."
| Delbert "Del" Yarnell |
Del attaches the Azlanti combat knife to his tool belt, and checks his gear.
Keeping "U" out of the reach of the Golbin Captain's paws, he is ready to go.
"I hope they haven't trashed my place... oh, well, who cares. I mean, they've killed people. I'm just happy to be alive. It's mainly all AbadarCorp drek anyhow."
Cool pic' of the settlement
Haro Phane
|
Haro decides not to get into ownership of the ship any more than he already had. Though he is the captain...he had retained that role when he sold off shares, the fact is that ownership was equal at this point.
Well, with the exception of Steve...he was part of the prize. I think...
"We have cargo to deliver, and an old friend in illegal custody," Haro says. "I'm not about to tarnish my reputation with failing on my first delivery. Let's figure out what we need to do. I always collect," he adds.
I'll do a livestream later with editing to fill everyone in...
| Lors Lorcas |
Lors pays careful attention to Jellik's description as she finishes her first aid.
"In numbers like that they could prove very dangerous. We'll have to do this smart."
"Keep an ear out, Rril. Listening in on their communications could be vital."
| Srygzink 'Steve' Halfheart |
Steve taps his head with his finger. "Smartest goblin in this side of the galaxy." He smiles and offers his suggestion. "We become prisoners! I can look around see where everything in the camp is." Steve continues to talk and offer insane suggestions all the way to the Junk Shop. The wildest being just setting explosives around the whole camp and blowing everything up.
| GM Blake |
Oh, I neglected one item that I thought you should find, but I could not find it in their gear because it was on the next page.
Attached to one of the Azlanti Star Empire ceremonial armor suits by magnetic force is an hexagon-shaped badge with a transparent coating.
This hexagon-shaped adornment can be activated or deactivated as a move action. A motion detection badge has 4 charges, which refresh daily, and an hour of activation uses 1 charge. While active, as long as you haven’t moved for at least 1 round, the badge emits a quick flash of red light whenever a Small or larger corporeal creature approaches within 60 feet, although creatures undetectable to normal vision
(such as an invisible creature) don’t trigger the flash. This flash is sufficient to alert you, but doesn’t otherwise affect your vision or your actions. Reduce this distance by 20 feet for each interposing closed door or substantial barrier (such as a wall at least 1 inch thick). You can attune the badge to a creature by touching it with the item, which takes a full action; you can attune the badge to up to 10 different creatures. When you are within 60 feet of one of these creatures, regardless of whether you have moved in the past round, the badge emits a yellow flash to let you know an ally is near. Attempting to attune an eleventh creature causes the badge to lose its attunement to the earliest attuned creature. Note that in certain environments, such as a crowded shopping center, the badge flashes so frequently as to be practically useless for detecting approaching threats.
This badge has 3 charges remaining, it is running on it's first charge now.

Haro can't help but think Steve's idea is good, which greatly surprises him.
"We do have two of their uniforms and armor," he muses. "Two of us could dress up as thee guards, and bring the rest into camp as prisoners. That's not a half-bad plan, Steve," adds.
I can't believe I just said that...I'll need to do a special episode on Steve...

"May I?", Del asks, before pulling some cords out of the datajack he has installed on the left side of face.
He analyzes the badge with his custom rig, and shares his findings--

--"So, we could 'attune' all of us to this. Pretty neat piece of equipment.
And, I could be one of the prisoners if you want."
| Srygzink 'Steve' Halfheart |
Engineering: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (4) + 10 = 14
Steve snatches the badge off of Del's datajack and quickly removes a back panel as he sits on the ground. "We can always overload it for more?" He seems a bit enthusiastic as scraps and tech excite the small goblin. Though not so much this one and he tosses it back to the man. "Junk. It doesn't even explode."
| Antenor of Akiton |
"I don't. I'm interested in their language, but it's like nothing I know. There's the occasional word that sounds like Common..."
Antenor nods. He's ready.
| Srygzink 'Steve' Halfheart |
Steve raises his hand, waving it vigorously as most folks ignore him like some small child. "I speak their words." He draws his azimuth laser pistol and powers it on as it hums and vibrates uncontrollably from being tinkered with.
Unbeknownst to the rest, while he may seem unhinged and like a ball of pure chaos, Steve actually has picked up the Azlanti language in his travels.
| Antenor of Akiton |
"I don't care what the others say about you Steve, you're alright by me." The akitonian winks.
| GM Blake |
When you're ready, give me a marching order and strategy (stealth, disguise, charging in like you own the place, etc).
| Delbert "Del" Yarnell |
Del looks at the group: "So, the junk shop is at the edge of the settlement. We circle around and move in carefully. Maybe one or two dressed with the armor can fool people from a distance if we're not discreet enough. And we slip into the junk shop. Do we all go, or send someone in to scout ahead... "U" could give it a try."
| Lors Lorcas |
"It's all well and good if Steve understands them, though he should get one of the communicators if that's the case, but if our supposed captors can't maintain the ruse, it will be shortlived indeed. I recommend that stealth be our first goal. U's reconnaissance should aid either plan, however."
Rril Suolwind
|
Rril shrugs. "Not sure, I can be all that stealthy in this suit."
"I guess we all approach, using our 'detector' to avoid contact until we get close." Rril suggests. "Presumably, the armor can pick up any comm signals and transmit conversations--hopefully without the transmissions being detected. If so, Steve can give me a few words to hopefully fool them. Otherwise, we go in quiet-like, get as much information as to numbers and troop placement we can, and find out what is going in."
| Antenor of Akiton |
Antenor will take up a spot in the middle, and he'd prefer to go stealthily unless we're spotted. Then we bluff our way in.
Haro Phane
|
As the plan begins to come together, Haro says "Perhaps I should don some of their armor, as well as another of the humans."
Taking off his own helmet, the bounty hunter says "I think the ruse would work best if two of us pretend to be the two dead. That's not going to work if Steve is the one doing the talking. But I speak their language, too. I can do the talking, someone else can be the other dead guy, and the rest prisoners. Thoughts?"
| GM Blake |
You continue onward through the jungle with Jellik providing you directions from the back of the line. The statically charged fog begins to grow thicker and rise higher as you continue westward. Eventually, it rises over even Lors' head, and the sporadic static zaps become decidedly painful if not yet damaging.
Suddenly, the proximity badge begins to blink yellow.
This indicates an attuned person has approached within 60 ft.
You have 1 round to prepare however you desire. Tactical map is the slide after the settlement: 'Azlanti Patrol.'
| Antenor of Akiton |
"That plan lasted quite a while I must say..." Antenor draws his pistol and tries to use the fog to hide... Stealth: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 21 Map updated.

Assuming someone that the Azlanti's were attuned to prior.
Seeing the light begin to blink yellow Steve smacks it against his palm. "Either someone is coming of this thing is malfunctioning." Oonopidae skitters off into the brush where the goblin lays low.
Stealth: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11 Turns to +16 once he remains stationary for 1 round.
| Delbert "Del" Yarnell |
Del drops the armor he was lugging along while debating whether to dress up as one of the evil attackers.
He then hurries along double move (40 ft. speed) and yanks his welder out.
He hunkers low-- "hiding".
Stealth: 1d20 ⇒ 4
The flame of his welder kind of gives him off...
Haro Phane
|
Haro, rather than hiding like the others, remains standing in his Azlanti armor and wielding one of the Azlanti rifles.
He does try to remain close to some cover, just in case things don't go well. He waits for whatever triggered the proximity alert to reveal itself.

As Del moves forward, he can make out the shape of two humanoids walking through the mist. Suddenly, a red light begins to blink on one of the silhouettes, and you hear the click of rifle safeties being flipped off.
The crack of a rifle firing echoes through the jungle, and all the birds and beasts go silent. A fern rips apart next to Del as the bullet flies through it.
The area on the map that looks like a murky river is pooled mist and provides concealment (50% miss chance and you have to guess which square your target is in if greater than 30 ft away).

Yeah, but you don't speak Azlanti, do you? If not, the bluff wouldn't have worked too well...
THAT is an excellent point.

And the only other one that speaks Azlanti is a goblin, which also doesn't help the cause. :)
