I'm sorry; I guess I just kind of needed...a break. You know, one of the ones where you suddenly just kind of get kidnapped by yourself?
Having found himself exceptionally flummoxed by this most disturbing tale of self-destructive intrigue, Sir Spenser had wandered off in the Library of the Lion to see if a good book of fairy tales (mechanically-speaking, a book of puzzles) might help put it all in perspective...
DC 10 Intelligence check: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7
...alas, to no avail - and alack that the pastry chefs had also found him on their way to the chamberlain's study!
Fortitude save: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (20) + 6 = 26
As this happens you notice the halfling servants, including the usher, approaching slowly, sadistical smiles painted on their faces. Behind them a man, wearing the garb of a cook enters as well:"Now, now... how did you like your tarts good sirs?" he mockingly asks...
"If ye'll recall..." Begins an alarmingly stern voice from the doorway - it is none other than Sir Spenser.
Sir Mr. Proudefeets
|
Fort: 1d20 + 21 ⇒ (9) + 21 = 30
Sir Mr. P senses that the pastry was not nearly as good as it seemed at first. "Madame, I believe that your chef is having an off day..."

Sense Motive: 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (18) + 19 = 37 Apologizes regarding the opposed check, Paicho thinks the chamberlain is alright
A look of horror crosses Paicho's face as he realizes the pastry has been poisoned, he tosses it on the ground.
Peering at the halfling servants, Insolent servants! Good help is so hard to find!
Placed Shel and I, welcome back Spenser

Sorry, work kidnapped me and I am not allowed to use their computers for gaming. (It would make working weekends much more bearable)

Guhkar shook his head, "Well now, lets see, which one of you will survive to face the hangman for trying to poison us? Abet a failed attempt but none the less..." Guhkar said as he got ready for battle.

All of Brutus attacks fail to connect. Paicho waits for Mr Proudfeets to try saving Spenser (who looks quite dead at the moment...) and the halfling cavalier manages to do just that snatching the fallen pathfinder's soul just a moent before it could be claimed by the Graveyard!
Ghukar ma proceed with her turn, Mr Proudfeets must proceed with tyhe mechanical part of his actions, Spenser may act as he gets revived and Paicho helps him recover

Sir Mr. Proudefeets

Mr. P steps 5' to the side and activates his first aid gloves on the dead Spenser. I think this doesn't provoke an AoO, but if I'm wrong about that Mr. P will 5' step to the square one to the south of the one I've moved him to, in order to avoid the AoO.
Breath of Life: 5d8 + 9 ⇒ (2, 2, 2, 6, 6) + 9 = 27
In addition, Mr. swiftly heals himself Swift action to lay on hands himself
Lay on Hands: 3d6 ⇒ (3, 5, 5) = 13

Ghukar kept his barrage of bombs flying at the "Cook" as he avoided being hit by the throw weapon.
Frost bomb #1 @Cook DC 21 fort: 1d20 + 12 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 12 + 2 = 304d6 + 2 ⇒ (4, 4, 5, 4) + 2 = 19
Frost bomb #2 @Cook DC 21 fort: 1d20 + 12 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 12 + 2 = 284d6 + 2 ⇒ (5, 5, 3, 5) + 2 = 20

Is Brutus up again?

"STREWTH!" Bellows Spenser as his eyes, already bulging open, regain their ineffable twinkle. The power of Paicho's incantation and Sir Proudefeets's talisman surpasses even their expectations, as the Marquis de Exupery does not merely come back to life, but now seems even more vivacious than before! He flops away from the melee like a giant shiny-scaled tuna (5-foot "step" while still prone), stands up, and turns around with a dashing flick of the wrist, signaling his return with a dart at one of his would-be slayers!
dart, courage, melee penalty vs Strawberry Veryshortcake: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 24
damage: 1d4 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9

Thanks to mr Proudfeets and Paicho Spenser's soul gets reunited with his body and he immediately uses this opportunity to attack the last halfling standing (enemy halfling, that is)... but to no avail as the nimble opponent avoids his dart!
Meanwhile Ghukar lobs a couple of bombs at the cook hitting him twice!
The halfling in red keeps attacking although this time he changes target, slashing at Brutus instead!
Attack roll 01: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (14) + 13 = 27 → Damage roll: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10
Attack roll 02: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (7) + 8 = 15 → Damage roll: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8
And the remarkably precise halfling strikes again wounding the half orc!

Shel again tries to fight off the awful poison tearing its way through her system.
Will 1d20 + 12 - 2 ⇒ (2) + 12 - 2 = 12
If successful st resisting the poison, Shel attempts to tumble her way to the square just southeast of the red enemy, setting up flanks for she and Brutus.
Acrobatics 1d20 + 21 ⇒ (14) + 21 = 35
If the little halfling succeeded in her move, then takes one swing at the red clad opponent. If it fails, Red gets in a while at her as she tumbled.

@Shel: Don't forget your Precise Strike die!
@DM: Did you catch that the cook needs to make Fortitude saves against Ghukar's Frost Bombs?

@Shel: You don't need to roll against will anymore. The effect works exactly like hold person only delivered via injection
@Spenser: Nope, I forgot. Thanks for reminding me
