I think you missed my question. I wanted to throw shurikens at the dude north of Brutus but I'll do something else if there's going to be cover.

Will DC19 + 4 v Sonic: 1d20 + 9 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 9 + 4 = 21
Will DC19 + 4 v Sonic: 1d20 + 9 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 9 + 4 = 20
First time I've ever used this. Countersong!
Alarmed by the effects of the whirling talden dead, Paicho ceases to inspire the Pathfinders, although his banner remains raised high. He reaches over and touches Griff.
Cure Light Wounds: 1d8 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9
He then begins to sing a song that blends into and counters the screams of the dead.
La la la la la
La la la la la la...
Perform Sing: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (16) + 12 = 28
Allies can use this roll as there save against the sonic assault. See below.
Free - end Inspire Courage; Standard cast CLW; Move - begin Countersong
The bard attempts to counter magic effects that depend on sound (but not spells that have verbal components.) Each round of the countersong he makes a Perform (keyboard, percussion, wind, string, or sing) skill check. Any creature within 30 feet of the bard (including the bard himself) that is affected by a sonic or language-dependent magical attack may use the bard’s Perform check result in place of its saving throw if, after the saving throw is rolled, the Perform check result proves to be higher. If a creature within range of the countersong is already under the effect of a non-instantaneous sonic or language-dependent magical attack, it gains another saving throw against the effect each round it hears the countersong, but it must use the bard’s Perform skill check result for the save. Countersong does not work on effects that don’t allow saves. Countersong relies on audible components.

I don’t want to hold things up so I’ll just assume they provide cover.
Brutus charges toward the other side of the hall. Double moving.

@Brutus - you can always spoiler 2 courses of action, if you need more info.

With a roll of 28 everyone inside 30'' from Paicho automatically passes the will save check (Mr Proudfeets did not need to because he was being threatened). Let's say Brutus was there and so he saved against the effects before moving up
Being a clever bird, Paicho uses his art to bring harmony to the chaotic babbling emitted by the dark things Vernisant unleashed.
Mr Proudfeets uses his lance to attack the Earl while Griff counterattacks the big cat. The halfling also invokes the power of good in order to smite the evil nobleman!
Lance hasted vs the Earl: 1d20 + 14 + 6 - 3 + 1 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 14 + 6 - 3 + 1 + 3 = 30 → Damage roll: 1d6 + 4 + 10 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 4 + 10 + 6 = 25
Lance 02 vs the Earl: 1d20 + 9 + 6 - 3 + 1 + 3 + 1 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 9 + 6 - 3 + 1 + 3 + 1 + 3 = 26 → Damage roll: 1d6 + 4 + 10 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 4 + 10 + 6 = 24
Beak 01 (Griff vs Saluxer): 1d20 + 13 + 1 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 13 + 1 + 3 = 19 → Damage roll: 1d6 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8
Beak hasted (Griff vs Saluxer): 1d20 + 13 + 1 + 3 ⇒ (19) + 13 + 1 + 3 = 36 → Damage roll: 1d6 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11
Beak 02 (Griff vs Saluxer): 1d20 + 8 + 1 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 8 + 1 + 3 = 14 → Damage roll: 1d6 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13
Claw 01 (Griff vs Saluxer): 1d20 + 13 + 1 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 13 + 1 + 3 = 21 → Damage roll: 1d6 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12
Claw 02 (Griff vs Saluxer): 1d20 + 13 + 1 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 13 + 1 + 3 = 18 → Damage roll: 1d6 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10
Will Save 02: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (7) + 11 = 18
Ahem... those were actually terible rolls. Sorry mr Proudfeets! XD
The halfling and his mount score a couple of hits but nothing more despite all of their attacks. The evil nobleman does not seem pleased at all. Seems like he expected to bring his target down with just one charge. Yet he proves his tactical awarness as he orders his minions to cover his back from the approaching half orc. Mr Proudfeets and Griff slash at the undead creatures but their mundane attacks simply pass through them without causing any harm!
Longsword 02 vs Proudfeets: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (11) + 14 = 25 → Damage roll: 1d8 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11
Longsword 03 vs Proudfeets: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (4) + 9 = 13 → Damage roll: 1d8 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12
Bite vs Griff: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (11) + 14 = 25 → Damage roll: 1d8 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14 Grab:If successful, it gains a free grapple attempt
Claw 01 vs Griff: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (1) + 15 = 16 → Damage roll: 1d8 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9
Claw 02 vs Griff: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (5) + 15 = 20 → Damage roll: 1d8 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8
Grapple vs Griff: 1d20 + 20 ⇒ (2) + 20 = 22 → Rake (claw 01): 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (12) + 15 = 27 → Damage roll: 1d8 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12 → Rake (claw 02): 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (18) + 15 = 33 → Damage roll: 1d8 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12
Luckily enough the Earl and his mount fare even worse than the halfling and his griphon and do not manage to hit their intended targets even a single time.
Meanwhile the swirling darkness masses engage Brutus and Paicho!
Green touch attack vs Brutus: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (12) + 7 = 19 → Damage roll: 1d4 ⇒ 3 wisdom damage
Blue touch attack vs Paicho: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (15) + 7 = 22 → Damage roll: 1d4 ⇒ 1 wisdom damage
Only the babbling whirlwind threatening the tengu manages to land a touch with its tendrils...
Paicho: roll a DC19 will save or lose 1 wisdom

Paicho pending DC19 will save or lose 1 wisdom

Sorry for the long absence. I got home last night but arrived to a sick wife and daughter and was up most of the night with the kid. This is the first moment I've had to catch up in days.
In any case, it seems like I picked a bad moment to go missing! I've got a few questions, posted below. First, though...
Back at the Senate... Before the group chases down the Earl, Mr. P takes a moment to heal himself from the damage he had taken from Katrina's henchmen. At the end of that fight he was down 15 hp He also takes a moment to retrieve the wands that he had dropped along the way.
Wand of CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
Wand of CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
Wand of CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
As the group approached the next battlefield, Mr. P once again uses his wand of divine favor (1 minute duration). That's his only active buff at the start of the next (i.e. current) fight.
I'm not sure if Mr. P and Griff were within 60' of the shadow beings or not, but here are the will saves just in case:
Mr. P Will 1 DC 19: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (8) + 15 = 23
Mr. P Will 2 DC 19: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (17) + 15 = 32
Mr. P Will 3 DC 19: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (19) + 15 = 34
Griff Will 1 DC 19: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (6) + 11 = 17 +4 vs enchantment effects, +6 vs fear
Griff Will 2 DC 19: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (13) + 11 = 24 +4 vs enchantment effects, +6 vs fear
Griff Will 3 DC 19: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (5) + 11 = 16 +4 vs enchantment effects, +6 vs fear
So, Griff failed two of these saves unless they count as enchantment of fear effects?
In any case, the next thing that happens is that two of the creatures attack Griff, which I think renders the fascination effect moot anyway. Let me know if that's not the case.
Griff is easily touched by two of the shadow creatures.
Griff Will 1 vs Touch of Insanity DC 19: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (1) + 11 = 12 +4 vs enchantment effects, +6 vs fear auto-fail, Griff takes 2 Wisdom dmg
Griff Will 2 vs Touch of Insanity DC 19: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (11) + 11 = 22 +4 vs enchantment effects, +6 vs fear Pass, Griff does not take 2 more Wisdom dmg
* Are they flying? Griff and Mr. P are typically in the air. However, I can imagine that it's too much of a retcon to undo this, so I'm fine if you want to say that they just got careless and were only 15' up in the air (and hence attackable by a large creature/mounted creature on the ground).
* More significantly, does Saluxer have 10' reach? Normally Large quadrapeds (such as Griff), occupy 10' squares but only have 5' reach (unlike Large bipeds like Giants, etc.). Maybe Saluxer has some special ability, but otherwise, it looks like it wouldn't have been able to pounce/charge them at all? (This is a bit tricky since the map has now changed and they are adjacent, but when I looked at the map yesterday, it looked as if they had stopped 10 feet away (as they had to do because of the shadow beings being in the way). Not sure how to handle this without a really unworkable retcon, but since that was also a doozy of an attack on Griff, I thought I should check with you and see what you think. Thanks!
* ... ok, just finished reading through all the posts and getting caught up. I noticed that you already rolled Griff's 2 will saves (which I've also done just above), so he has either 4 Wis dmg (if you want to use your rolls) or 2 Wis dmg (if you want to use the ones I made just above). Also, per the healing I noted above, Mr. P currently has 0 dmg (since the -15 you have noted was left over from the previous fight).
* Regarding my current turn, if the answer to the question about reach is that Saluxer does NOT have reach, and if you are ok with saying that Griff and Mr. P were flying 15' up in the air, I'll use my turn to use a withdraw action to move away from them (to set up a charge on my following turn), in which case I suggest that we just leave the results of the previous turn as they are since it will just bog things down too much to try to undo them. But of course you are the GM, and I was offline for several days, so please handle however you think is best.
Will wait to take my actual turn until the GM has a chance to respond.

-Saluxer has a reach of 5ft. I made a mistake there and I'm sorry for it. I will take the damage away because of this mistake. A few things:
Any chance I could have reunited with Lot by now?
#1: This question has not yet been answered.
#2: Paicho healed me when we had a moment; I am in fact at maximum hit points.
#3: Unless it's twilight or night or gloaming or something, the malefactors must all make a DC 17 Will save against my glorious burnished armor, and technically should have had to do that the first round they saw me within 30 feet.
#4: Don't forget the effect of Paicho's Flagbearing - or my Banner, for that manner!
#5: Blue Allip is rather badly double-parked; I can't tell which square it's supposed to be in; at any rate....
"Hark!?!" Exclaims Spenser, the harmonious cacophony of spectral lamentations and Bardic ditties leaving him now too bemused to be properly bewildered. "Gadzooks! Art this a dread liminalius I see before me? Hie, let me sunder thy bonds from this realm - in the Gordian manner!"

-Nope. A lone camel is not going to enter the Taldan senate building, especially while it's filled with armed people. I made an exception for Griff because he can fly and that made it possible for him to bypass part of the security.

-The DC to identify the undeads is 23 (15+8) so no, you don't know anything about them. But yes, if we are metagaming then they are allips, although not of the standard kind
-Why are you rolling a percentile dice against them? They are incorporeal so they don't take damage from mundane attacks and only half from magical ones (with a few exceptions)

Ghukar bombs and Spenser 's blade end the last of the ominous undead menaces. With their departure from the world of the living, and more importantly, with Earl Calhadion Vernisant's death the pathfinders are left standing, a bit bruised but victorious!
Calhadion's defeat saps what little fight was left in the Stavian loyalists within the senate building. Once the word of the Earl's death spreads, the remaining fights within the building die down, and the various senators and visiting dignitaries retreat to their homes and safe houses within the capital.
The senate building is quickly abandoned, save for a few shell-shocked guards from both sides of the conflict who put hostilities aside and offer to remain behind to keep the site free of looters.
Lady Gloriana Morilla recognizes the tension in the air and requests you join her at Muesello’s lodge, where she can provide a formal debriefing.
Once there Lady Morilla meets the pathfinder agents who saved the day with a radiant smile shining on her face:"Ah! The heroes of the day! With the Lion Blades properly convinced of Stavian’s reckless schemes and Calhadion Vernisant defeated, none can deny you did a great service to the Pathfinder's Society and Taldor both. Let me properly relay my gratitude for your actions! You went above and beyond in maintaining some semblance of order within Taldor, and for that I'm genuinely garteful and not only as a member of the Society.
The next few months will be fraught, for the day’s events have brought Taldor dangerously close to civil war as numerous aristocrats proclaim their right to the crown. Thanks to your help swaying the Lion Blades, I believe that Princess Eutropia can triumph and lead Taldor into a new and golden age. Unfortunately, such an important victory might also serve as a beacon for those seeking to defame the Pathfinder Society. Nontheless your actions here today as well as other recent endeavors by the Sovereign Court, prove that seasoned Pathfinders working together can be a force for great political change. I believe that it would be in the Society’s best interests to take a reprieve from the Taldan conflict and that more notable Pathfinders should recuse themselves from actively helping Eutropia—at least, for a while. Being accused of taking sides in the succession for the crown is not something the Pathfinder Society needs now.
But... before you go, there's one last matter to discuss. The tragic death of the commoner Kalbio, who was to become a baron during the exaltation ceremony. Members of the Sovereign Court managed to retrieve Kalbio’s body from the senate floor, but we’re unsure what else to do. Given that none of the nobles are willing to put resources into a funeral or a means of resurrection, it seems that there are to be no new inductees into the echelons of Taldan nobility this year. Alas, my hands are tied as well, and I can do little for poor Kalbio at this moment in time I'm afraid".
The Lady is briefly interrupted by Venture-Captain Muesello:"Kalbio’s parents accepted considerable debt in order to help their son prepare for this honor, and it’s only a matter of time before news of his death reaches them. This is a truly tragic tale, where chance and the paranoia of evil men can spell doom for a whole, innocent, family"
"Yes" - Lady Gloriana notes - "Kalbio of Breezy Creek is likely the first of many casualties in the coming months. Yet we cannot let his death to pass under silence, or worse, ignominy. You were the heroes who saved Taldor today so I believe you are the right people to ask for an opinion on the most proper way to honor Kalbio's loss. What say you?"

![]() |

”I believe he’d be more important as a noble than as a martyr. We have resources at the Society. I think we should raise him from the dead and try to pay off his parents’ debt. This is for Taldor, not for the Society. We need to show people that the SovreignCourt support the true noble class of Taldor!”

![]() |

Sir Mr. Proudefeets agrees with Shel. "If poor Kalbio is not rescued from his fate, then even in our victory there will be the taste of foul Vernisant's plans, and those of Mad Stavian. By the power of Chaldira, surely there must be something we can do to save the lad, restore him to life, and help him to the barony that was his due!"

![]() |

Brutus nods in agreement with his companions.
"I support Miss Whispertongue's decision. Evil has only won when good men do nothing. The Society must extend whatever resources it takes to make this right."

![]() |

Paicho nods in agreement, Resources should be provided to bring the Kalbio back to the land of the living. The people of Taldor must have hope, and this is a sure way to ensure they have some at least. Although no doubt it will make the Society many friends, but probably also some enemies. It is the correct choice I believe.

![]() |

"Verily!" Agrees Spenser, albeit uncharacteristically subdued. "To ken...that noble Taldor's neck should be gnashed asunder by its very Crown..."
He pulls out a slim, but very broad mahogany case, and opens it to stare at its contents: A fine vellum scroll, impeccably-kept, certifying that one Spenser Pellinore Quixote the Last is indeed rightful bearer of the title 'Marquis of Exupery' - it bears the very large and fancy personal signature of none other than Grand Prince Stavian III, Emperor of Taldor.
After a moment's contemplation, he snaps the case shut once more and looks up. The distant twinkle in his eye has returned...but this time, seemingly with an edge that was not there before.
"BLACKGUARD!" He bellows as he stands up. "This shall not stand! I, Sir Spenser Pellinore Quixote the Last, Marquis de Exupery, hath pledged mein own heart, flesh, spirit and steel to SAVE THE STORIES from the grommulous all-devouring sunset, and so long as aught of ego shall be, I shalt rattle firmament and cthonia alike that THE STORY of aurellian Taldor NEVER finis upon so silverfish-wracked a page - nor that of its anointed scion, one Kalbio Von Sneachda-Ruisseau! FIAT JUSTICIA, RUAT CAELUM!"
"Hie thee hither, gentle comrades-in-arms!" He cries as he abruptly rushes out the door. "FOR THE STOOOOORIIIIIIEEEESSSSS...!"

![]() |

Five of you want to pour resources into resurrecting Kalbio. Raise dead cost is as follows: 16 PP OR 5,450 gp OR 8 PP AND 2,450 gp. Let me know what kind payment you want to make. Also waiting for Ghukar to tell if he inteds to contribute as well

![]() |

I'm good with whatever form of payment others want to do. This is Brutus's retirement scenario so it doesn't matter terribly for me.

![]() |

Shel is fine paying as much as she is allowed to. This is for Taldor, after all.
