Well hello there!
It’s starting to seem real! This’ll probably be easier to use than just PM’ing each other all the time.
I made good progress on Kudera’s backstory last night. It still needs editing and adjusting at least a couple times, but it’s getting there. I want to make sure I get her voice right.
Oh, and I’m sure you’ll be happy to learn that I named her lion: Tathir Allahab, which means cleansing flame.

Yep, probably. That could change over time, of course, but that’s likely the case at the start of the adventure. She has a soft spot for Tathir, though.
Also, in case it helps your preparations at all, I plan to end Kudera’s backstory with her in Almas, Andoran.

Yep, that’s perfectly fine. Also, Inquisitors are known for traveling around. Not all enemies of the faith can be found in Qadira, you know. ; )
Edit: Oh, and I took your advice and put a skill point into stealth. Still plan on primarily using Tathir, but at least now she won’t be completely useless at it.

            Likewise!
Also, since you were bracing for me to ask a bunch of rules questions anyway, here’s one before we even officially start: with the Empowered Spell feat (or Kudera’s domain power, in this case) how do you calculate the bonus healing? Just add half to whatever I roll and half to the roll’s modifier? Or half to both totaled up? Or only half it it would mean adding an extra dice roll? Hope that’s a good issue to start with!

All variable, numeric effects of an empowered spell are increased by half including bonuses to those dice rolls.
That would imply you only double the dice rolled totals.
So of, say, a Heal Example: 4d6 + 5 ⇒ (2, 2, 4, 4) + 5 = 17 heal, you'd add 6, for half of 12, the amount actually rolled.
So 12(rolled)+6(bonus 50%)+5(modifier).
Make sense?
Also, it is funny after Vorya's rules lawyering but I tend to be the exact opposite in most games. Run things as whatever seems most fun.

Yeah, I’m more of a RAI rather than RAW person, but I do think RAI and RAW are more often the same thing than not.
As for your ruling in this situation... if that is the case, then what is it referring to when it says “including bonuses to those dice rolls?”

Alright, sounds good. That makes things simpler.
I should have Kudera’s completed backstory up sometime tomorrow so we can start Sunday night or Monday. I’ll post here once it’s up. If you want time to incorporate things from her backstory into the story, I don’t mind waiting should it prove necessary.

Kudera's backstory and a vignette are now up on her profile page. It's a bit long... but I figure a 7th level character should have more of a backstory than your standard 1st level character. Please let me know if I need to adjust anything. I hope it doesn't interfere with anything you've planned!
If or when you're happy with her backstory, I'm ready to start!

Looks great! Wonder what that thing is on her desk...
P.S. It's spelled Rivani. : P

No worries, I've come to accept that that sort of thing is kind of a pet-peeve of mine, so better to address it now than later.
Yeah, she prefers the Sarenite design, which is sometimes just an open courtyard. So yes, she's not a big fan.
Well, if I had to guess, based on what I know of the campaign, I would say it's something that contains the soul of Starsight, though I'm not sure how that would work.

No, spelling is important for names and places. How can I expect you to take things seriously if I don't get them spelled right?
Funny I just had a Sarenrae temple in another game of mine, and it was indeed little more then an open courtyard (with a few mosaics). Kudera would have liked that place more then a gothic style cathedral.
So your guess was pretty much exactly right. Yay!

            Very true.
I try to do some 'research' when writing my character's backstory and assessing her opinions of things. Sarenite temples were interesting to read about.
I'm sure other things will be much harder to guess!

I think you did a good job of it! It's certainly a task that potentially has grave implications (no pun intended... okay, maybe a little).

Kudera Rivani

To be fair, that's a task being attempted by 5 people. A solo campaign has to have reasonable expectations for a single person. Certainly seems high stakes regardless.

            Haha, I'm sure!

            Yep, definitely.

It’s certainly moving fast, geographically speaking, but it’s fine. I would rather move too fast than too slow. We can always back up a bit, if necessary.

Hey, wanted to stop by and make sure everything was okay. I’ve enjoyed the story so far. Looking forward to more! : )

I'm sorry. I was in a dark mental place the last two days (partially because I am worried about this pacing, I know foolish!) and didn't post. I'll have one up tonight but I want to consult with my Co-GM on some things. I feel I need to engaged Kudera a bit more in her surroundings since she is very focused on her task. Clearly I need to bring those two together!

Kudera Rivani

No worries! Not every scene has to be super detailed. : ) So two people actually GM your games?

Kudera Rivani

Ah, okay. Now I know who to blame if that happens!

Kudera Rivani

I’m open to them, though our current method seems fine. It really depends on how much extra work you’re willing to do, since most of it would fall on you. I’m really fine either way.

Kudera Rivani

Not when it comes to something like this, haha. I think she sees situations like this as pretty black and white.

Oh no! Everything I’ve read about it is horrible. Stay safe and take your time.

Fun day, then! No worries. I'll be here when you have time.
