Nura Hamdani |
"Lacking proper shelter, it would seem that our best chance is to cover ourselves to protect exposed skin and wait it out."
Zairiah |
Direction Sense (Wisdom 13): 1d20 ⇒ 11
Quick, circle the camels and everyone get in the middle under a blanket from your bedroll if you can.
Zairiah pulls the camels around her into a barrier (as part of a circle if the others help), and then bows down in the middle over her pack, huddling with the others to try to avoid having her skin flayed from her body by the flying sand. She hopes her leather armor plus the barrier/windbreak of the camels will help.
Frackit Alloyeye |
"Wait what, Why, How" Frackit says as he stares like an idiot at the wall of and coming for them and then blinks and slams his hand down on the conical hat he wore and began to head into the circle with his SHield over his head and then falls down.
Fadilah al-Qadib |
Direction Sense (<=14): 1d20 ⇒ 1
Fadilah is able to help sort out the navigation beforehand.
Fetch spell: Leomund's tiny hut (<= 55%): 1d100 ⇒ 32
Fetch spell time: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6 rounds
"Quick, quick, gather round," says Fadilah. "I have this!"
With her newfound skills she is able to summon a spell that only days before would've been too difficult. As the sandstorm is closing in she incants the words and gestures brought to her by the gen and soon a bubble of force springs up.
Leomund's Tiny Hut creates a 15' radius bubble that protects from the environment. Lasts for nine hours. Inside, the temperature is a cool 70 F., and it protects from wind up to hurricane force. The spell description specifically calls out protection against sandstorms!
Sheikh Ibn Taaib al-Ghurabi |
Desert survival: 1d20 ⇒ 3 Success
Ibn Taaib identifies the sandstorm long before it comes, and assists the party expertly in hurrying them under Fadilah's magical shelter.
Fadilah al-Qadib |
15' radius is 30' across. Also, the spell is a globe, not a dome, so in theory once we get everyone inside we can dig out part of the center to get extra space. A lot will just depend on how long the storm lasts, and whether we are able to keep control over the camels (someone should probably use Animal Handling nonweapon proficiency).
Sheikh Ibn Taaib al-Ghurabi |
Camel Proficiency, roll under 14: 1d20 ⇒ 13
Camels are under control as well.
With the expertise of a nomad sheikh, Ibn Taaib brings the camels under control, barking orders and bringing the caravan under shelter quickly and efficiently.
