I wouldn't mind. I'll just be throwing spells though, not much talking, cause, well, don't like taking other people's characters out of context, but to save GM brain processing I wouldn't mind tossing his spells.
GM Xavier Kahlvet |
Same way she was able to disarm you of her falcata. I’ll explain later, but for now just trust me when I say “She has a thing”
Géatan Émond |
BACK.
Again... should attack next time again suji?
Sir Hendric the Vigilant |
A Wish can restore a body that has been destroyed so you can use Raise Dead.
Could a Limited Wish gather the ashes together so you can use Resurrection? Instead of 9th+5th, it is 7th+7th.
Sir Hendric can buy a scroll of Limited Wish (chronicle sheet) but he can't get Wish.
Then again, if the genies are still under contract, we may have a way of getting a Wish.

I think in this case I would allow a limited wish to basically summon up a vacuum cleaner to get all of Nox’s Ashes all in one place, solely because of the fact that there’s very few place for his ashes to go (if the ashes were outside where they would be constantly blown by the wind, that would be a different story), but that’s just my personal ruling for this circumstance, other GMs May disagree.
Géatan Émond |
Nice.... Wait, she's visible now?
GM Xavier Kahlvet |
There are no knowledges for determining class levels; there are variant rules for that, but they're not PFS-usable.
Géatan Émond |
If we want to stop her from retaking her weapon.... we could destroy it.
Sir Hendric the Vigilant |
If the other falcata was adamantine (Tortuga's AOO didn't hurt it), how much do you want to bet this one is too? Just in case PCs facing her had Stoneskin, for example. An intelligent enemy would have adamantine.
And Clustered Shots doesn't work against hardness, only DR.
So I don't think you could destroy her sword in 1 round if it is even +3 (26 hardness).
If we have another way to destroy it, then good.
Edit: out of curiosity, how good would Géatan's CMD be with a sword and flat-footed? I think a lot of his bonuses are Dex or are specific to using a bow. I guess the Gloves of Dueling would still help a bit. If some of that CMD is from favored class bonus that would still apply. Taking her down is probably still a better option since you can 5' step and full attack - might not get another chance like that.
As always, Géatan and Nox/Kaldane, if you see a better move, take it. But I wasn't sure Nox/Kaldane even realized TK was an option because the wandering spirit was never tracked in the profile.
Tortuga |
I could always go and grab it. I'm going to guess she'll have a hard time disarming me. Even without my dodge bonuses I have a 44 CMD.
Sir Hendric the Vigilant |
Good idea, but I think she gets to go before you do, Tortuga.
Actually, it seems she has dual initiative, so after Géatan's turn she gets to go twice before he can act again. And if she does two Disintegrates, he could be dead even on successful saves (he's at 31 HP).
So maybe a Quickened Cure Serious from Kaldane is in order in addition to whatever else he can do. Kaldane is hurting but around 60, I think.
Géatan Émond |
When I look, Gaétan is at 30 cmd flat footed with a +4 against cleave and disarm.

Okay... I THINK I have a good plan of attack.
Kaldane has this nifty ability called "Erosion touch" which will do 15d6 to a construct or object that should destroy even an adamantine magic weapon unless it's A ultra powerful or B I'm really unlucky. That'll save a spell. Then I'll quicken heal Gaetan... and hope that Kaldane doesn't get killed I suppose.
Nox Neuropastum |
Well, apparently it's ultra powerful, like +4 or so ultra powerful if my math is right. Even a +4 Adamantine Falchata should have 28 hardness and 53 HP, and I barely singed it. :( Good flipping grief.
GM Xavier Kahlvet |
I'll let ya in on something: +5 adamantine weapon and then some.
Perhaps "singed" was not the right word; the point is that it isn't broken (meaning you didn't deal half its hp in damage to it after hardness).
Sir Hendric the Vigilant |
So here was my reasoning behind telling Suli to keep protecting Ratarion (I may have been too clever for my own good).
I was hoping that she would go after Ratarion if she thought he was getting away.
Anybody who can cast Disintegrate can probably cast Teleport.
And if she tried to Disintegrate Ratarion, Suli has his Sandals of Interception.
That would buy us some time to heal and regroup.
But with this effect, where hurting her hurts him, the situation changes. If it goes both ways we have an incredibly useful option to take her down (punch Ratarion in the face repeatedly). If the effect only goes one way, we at least want to get Ratarion near Kaldane.
Tortuga |
I'll have time to post a bit later this evening. I have to get ready for rehearsal right now.

Could one of the players please bot Géatan? I’m lazy and preoccupied.
Sir Hendric the Vigilant |
If nobody else wants to, I can bot Géatan, but can you do two things?
1) Put the giant hand on the map
2) Fix the map - looks like an older version is actually the correct one (with the sword golem in golem form rather than wall form, and Suliji along the South side of the room)
Sir Hendric the Vigilant |
My instinct is "all attacks on golem, and then if it drops redirect remaining attacks to giant hand" - with hopefully the golem's explosion damaging the hand as well.

1) The problem: the spell doesn’t actually say where the hand is...
2) You are correct. If someone not on a phone could fix that; I’m a bit preoccupied.Nox Neuropastum |
Think Kaldane should focus on healing for now? Let you guys try and take down Suliji? I also think reading a dispel for a counterspell might be a good idea. I'd love to creeping doom the caster, but unless we have a way to ground her, don't think that'll work.
Sir Hendric the Vigilant |
Let's wait a bit and see what happened with my turn and then Géatan's.
If my tactic worked, she is almost certainly dead. There is no way a caster can survive a full attack from Géatan without magical defenses. If it didn't work for whatever reason (she replaced the sword with a fake or something), we might need Géatan to do something different.
And Nox, I will still pay for a Limited Wish for you if we can't wring one out of Ratarion here (but that will be my first option). Just felt I had to use this Wish for this purpose to end the fight quickly.
Nox Neuropastum |
I've banked a lot of prestige, no worries, and we'll make some fair coin off this mission, so I'm not to worried about it. I want her DEAD for this stunt though. And I also want the team to finish the mission at the very least, preferably with me being the only casualty.
Géatan Émond |
So, this is my turn?
...please Wait for twomorrow.
Sir Hendric the Vigilant |
Yes, it is your turn.
Suliji is in an antimagic field. That knocks out her invisibility and wind wall (and hopefully a lot of AC and bonus HP).
You are also in the antimagic but can 5' step north or west to get out of it.
Make sure you use the bonus attack from either Fervor or Haste.
Géatan Émond |
ARHG!!!!! Desna weeps!!
Sir Hendric the Vigilant |
Man, those are bad rolls. But I would guess only the nat-1 is a miss, so that's still 173 damage (plus what you did earlier). She's just got her basic non-magic armor and unbuffed Dex, maybe Dodge, so that is AC 23 at the very most, and probably less.
Tortuga is too far away to grant you a reroll with his ability, and Suli doesn't have enough ki left for his.
Géatan Émond |
I think tortuga's ability is just enough.
Sir Hendric the Vigilant |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |
Not if you take that 5' step - the GM has ruled that you need to do that so you are not affected by the AMF (ignore the template on the map). If you are in the AMF you would not get your Haste attack or lots of other bonuses. And you wouldn't get the benefit of Tortuga's Insightful Advice because that is (Su).
So take the 5' step and forget about Tortuga's reroll. Let's hope that 173 damage (plus what you did before) is enough if we have removed her likely Con buffs.
GM Xavier Kahlvet |
Honest question: would the magical/supernatural bonuses to damage disappear from the arrows when they entered the AMF?
Sir Hendric the Vigilant |
Good question.
Prayer is making Géatan luckier so that should remain (was it included?). It's mind-affecting, not object-affecting.
Gloves of Dueling improve his skill so that increase should remain.
The bow's enhancement bonus is an open question. The bow is outside the AMF, but it does impart magic to the arrows for penetrating DR. I could see it ruled either way.
GM Xavier Kahlvet |
Then there’s also the séance (but I think that’s not on) and the Symbolic Weapon from the Sentinel prestige class.
GM Xavier Kahlvet |
Normally I wouldn’t worry over it, but right now it’s actually VERY important. I think I’m going to sleep on this issue and I’ll get back to you guys tomorrow.
Sir Hendric the Vigilant |
If she is that low that it is on a razor's edge, can Nox change Kaldane's action to run over and hit her with the sword? He could do damage, then also get an AOO if she is still up and tries to flee.
I really want to wrap this up.
GM Xavier Kahlvet |
I can say with certainty that that ended the combat—the razor’s edge is important for how it ends. This isn’t one of those cases where I would retcon something to advance the combat to the conclusion that it would have reached anyways.
