The captain sends you data that reveals that many Starfinder ships tried to reach Bastiar-2, a mostly barren but relatively safe planet to establish an outpost for survivors.
success! We'll start the next mission as soon as I hear enough voices from you guys, either in the discussion thread or on our hangout.
| Spacefarer Redelia |
The imposing vesk Radaszam, leader of the Acquisitives, stands near a large screen that displays a tidally locked planet labeled as Callion-2. "Starfinders," he greets, in his pleasantly low voice, "I’m sure you’ll find this mission interesting. Our sensors have detected numerous communication signals broadcast from Callion-2. Because one side of the planet is always facing the sun, only a narrow habitable zone exists, but here’s the interesting part: the entire habitable area is covered in one big, technologically advanced megacity. Finding survivors, or at least useful information in the city, seems likely. I’ll upload mission data on your ship’s computer. Good luck and come back safely!"
| Spacefarer Redelia |
Following Radaszam’s instructions, you easily find the right location in the sprawling megacity to take your landing craft. You find a suitable place to land on a rooftop. As you approach the destination, you realize the only living things in the city are plants and small insectile invertebrates. You see five possible locations to investigate: a factory, a library, a military base, a residential area, and a shopping mall.

Reynold frowns as he looks around, absent-mindedly thumbing the safety on his static arc pistol. He flips the device into kill mode as a precaution, then moves towards the (1d5 ⇒ 4) residential area. "Let's see if Auntie's home."
| Justin-Norveg |
a LIBRARY....erm I mean. As much as I want to go there, survivors would need shelter, food, and power. A shopping center would have the best mix of all of those without running into a robotic security tank or something. With any luck they ve already raided the library... but if you want to trust desna you re the captain

Reynold turns to the ysoki. "Houses have as good a chance of having supplies as a library or mall, and are probably more comfortable. Odds are we'll hit all the sites, but I figure this is the best bet for finding refugees."

Tolar giving a longing look at the military base then sighs.

"Is there room on the ship for one? I mean, Sometimes first contact means exchanging gifts."
| Keskodai -Khaoz |
"By that same logic, your quarters are the ones with the most available space Justin, should we just put a disassembled robo tank in there?."
Justin Norveg
|
"Sure. I usually camp out on the engines anyway. The Hum helps me go to sleep. Its a longer walk to the bathroom but a shorter run when we get attacked. "
| Keskodai -Khaoz |
"Interesting, Chk Chk and I will need to join your camping site one of these days. Perhaps once the mission's over."

First Seeker Luwazi Elsebo addresses the Society through communication devices across the Scoured Stars: “Starfinders, thanks to your efforts, we have gathered a large amount of data about the whereabouts of several groups of survivors from the first mission to the Scoured Stars. We have analyzed the data and now know enough to start locating and evacuating our friends and allies. We still need more intelligence on other groups of survivors, however, and we must continue to run reconnaissance missions at the same time.”
Table GM’s- You are now set to start Part 2, but remember Part 1 missions that are still open still need to be accomplished.
| Overseer Tyranius |
First Seeker Luwazi Elsebo pings each of your comm devices. ” Starfinders have recovered a signal beacon from a steamy swamp on Agillae-2. Our analysis of the data indicates there is a large group of survivors on another planet in the same system, and we will soon be ready to commence the evacuation mission.”
Planet of the Dinosaurs location is now closed and Last Outpost is now open.
Starfinders are filled with confidence. All Starfinders receive a +1 Morale bonus to attack rolls, saving throws and skill checks until the end of the current mission.

"sure, lets go check out the residential area first, but we'll need to be quick, lots of buildings, lots of places to hide. I'd say the military base would be the next best bet. Many are self sufficient and would have power, food, and security."
| Overseer Tyranius |
Your comm device tune erupts, breaking the silence once again in quick succession as the dreaded group chats will. ”The results of your explorations are coming in fast. Our agents explored a starship graveyard on Agillae-5, where they found many more of our comrades kept comatose in stasis chambers. Our scientists are studying the strange technology so we can decide how to safely release them.”
Starship Graveyard location is now closed and The Cracked Mirror location is now open.

The human figure notices your gaze and fades away.
Finding nothing else to explore in the residential district, you move on to the library. The library is eerily silent, other than music that seems to be everywhere on this planet. You see digital and physical records from the planet’s past filling shelves and data archives stretching for the equivalent of city blocks.
Possible checks are Computers, Culture, Engineering, Life Science,
Medicine, and Physical Science. Also, let me know if you have a chronicle for Starfinder Society Scenario #1–13: On the Trail of History or Starfinder Society Scenario #1–17: Reclaiming the Time-Lost Tear on THIS CHARACTER.
Yes, Reynold, I am fully aware of the irony of that question to you...

Tolar observes Mr. Peabody carefully as he goes into lecture mode as we explore.
Physical Science: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (1) + 12 = 13
Tolar played both of those.

The ancient culture was very advanced both culturally and technologically. Reynold and Tolar recognize the information as relating to the past of the izalguun species. You also find a log entry about visitors whose description suggests the visitors were Starfinders, but the entry doesn’t reveal what happened to them.
You see the same androgenous human in the distance, but he or she disappears quickly again.
You move on to the military base. As you approach, the same figure appears, this time approaching you directly. "Who are you? What do you want from here?"
Justin Norvegicus
|
Justin has played both of those.
Justin is dragged away from the library with a null space chamber crammed full of digital records, and carrying an impossibly high stack of books far in excess of his own weight.
"Starfinders visted this place at one point and then it was labeled as forbidden but with no mention of why. First seeker Jadnira mounted a big expedition to return and oh hello "
cranes his head around the pile of books
"Hi, I'm justin. We're starfinders. In general we explore the universe. More specifically some of our friends and family have gone missing here. Someone show him the symbol " both of justins hands are occupied. "You haven't seen any Ysoki around have you? People that look like me? "
Tolar Buntu

Tolar shows him the implant given to him when he joined the Starfinders.
"Or anyone with this symbol?"

Reynold raises his hands. "Relax, friend! We're here looking for our colleagues. They got into some trouble and we're hoping to help 'em out."

The shirren doesn't have a single intimidating fiber in his exoskeleton, he's a bit taken aback by Justin's sudden menacing attitude. He reflexively pulls Chk Chk towards his back.

Reynold intimidate: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (17) + 13 = 30
Grav has +9, so auto-aids.
A-1 seems alarmed at your inferred threats, and so you have no trouble convincing her to tell you the truth.
A group of Starfinders visited the city a year ago but the defense bots killed them. In their subsequent investigation, the bots found information about a group of Starfinders trapped on the desert planet Callion-1. A-1 also reveals its computers have detected weak signals coming from that planet within the last 24 hours, which may mean some of the Starfinders are likely still alive.
(At Justin's further questioning, none of the Starfinders who came to this planet were ysoki. The bots killed them because they were behaving in a threatening way and would not talk.)
That's another success, everyone. Good job. We will choose what to do next elsewhere.

The nearly 8 foot Nuar makes his way to the front of the group, massive doshko draped across his shoulders.
"Remember "friend" the alternative to 'we come in peace' is 'we come in war' and you seem ill equipped to deal with that situation... perhaps you'd be better off working with us - than unconscious."

First Seeker Luwazi Elsebo's voice rings out with more news of hope on each of your comm devices. ”Starfinders have penetrated the defenses of an ancient automated city on Callion-2. They discovered that a group of Starfinders visited the city a year ago, trying to find a way to help other Starfinders stuck on the desert planet of Callion-1. We’ll begin moving resources to Callion-1 immediately.”
City of the Ancients is now closed and Sands of Oblivion is now open.

Thanks for the bot, GM!
"Well, we've got some serious leads on where we might find some survivors. I think we should follow up in the same order we found the intel, just to cover our tracks. Shall we check in at Agillae-5?"
Reynold votes for Cracked Mirror.
