Jzero

You fail to predict the goblin beast's movement. You are now off balance and the beast see's an opportunity.

Mechanics:
They recover from their vulnerable status and you gain it.

You are free to take the second part of your 2 strike multi-action at the usual -2 MAP.

Male Monk Ranks 0, Card: TBD Bennies: 3, Convictions: 0, Pace: 6 (running die d8), Parry: 7, Toughness: 8, Wounds: 0, Fatigue: 0 Human | Map 1

Jzero loses his balance, which he considers a rookie mistake, but his training teaches him to keep focused and to not think of the immediate past or future, only on the strike at hand (or foot).

I couldn't find anything in SWADE about being off balance, so if there is some penalty associated with his oopsie, apply it to the results below.

Unarmed: 1d10 ⇒ 10 More like it.
Wild: 1d6 ⇒ 2
Unarmed, ace: 1d10 ⇒ 3
Modifier: +1 - 2 (MAP)
10 + 3 + 1 - 2 = 12

Unarmed Damage: 1d8 + 1d6 ⇒ (3) + (3) = 6
unarmed Raise Damage: 1d10 ⇒ 7
AP 2

Jzero

The "unbalanced" was just flavor text for the critical failure.

The beast leaps for you only to bite air as you roll to the right and two powerful punches to its rib cage. The goblin dog falls unmoving at your feet.

Ceri moves over to the "silver wolf" (see map) and attacks with a stone fist :

I doubt that hits, but just in case :

I think the 'silver wolf' is the dog of the civilian hiding nearby (inverted figure). You might need to redirect this toward the dog 1 or 3.

PWGM - if this is the case, I'll attack dog 1. It's still within my range of movement.

PWGM - if this is the case, I'll attack dog 1. It's still within my range of movement.

Exactly the case. I moved you into the closest position for an attack using 2 of your 5 pace as a small earth elemental (bestiary, pg 51). I was also careful to keep you in melee with the goblin (former) rider so you do not face a free attack. You would have faced an attack from the warchanter but they are stunned so no love from that quarter.

mechanics:
You have a +1 Gang-up bonus on this attack and a 5 is exactly what you needed to hit. I am not taking you free Earth mastery re-roll as you did hit and the re-roll does risk critical failure.
Damage 6 vs toughness 5(1) is enough to shake the dog.

You manage to slam a stone boot into the frantic dog, distracting it and causing a yelp of surprise but no serious damage.

Mirri, and Evesk.

Four targets remain 3 in various flavors of hurt.

The Warchanter is Stunned and so Prone and Vulnerable which means ranged attacks against them are at -2 (-4 ranged vs. Prone, +2 Vulnerable). But this changes to a +2 if you are only 1 or 2 squares away. Melee attacks against them are at +6 (+4 Prone vs. Melee, +2 Vulnerable).

The (former) rider has 2 wounds and is likely to fall with a solid hit.

Goblin dog 1 is Shaken making it easier to take them out as a second Shaken from a violent source while the target is already Shaken means they take a wound.

Goblin dog 3 is fine, for now.

Map link if needed.

Evesk moves to the south breaking combat with one goblin dog to focus on another.

It bites!: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4 but meets only air.

The Paladin has more success as their hammer once again smashes into the foe. The dog leaps back in surprise, stumbles for a moment falls and does not rise.

Mechanics:
Fighting total 5 vs parry 5 is a hit. Damage 7ap1 vs toughness 5(1) is 3. Just short of a wound, but a second shaken from damage turns into a wound and that is all for this foe.

Ok activate Mirri-bot.

Mirri moves up and stabs the stunned Warchanter. They go silent.

Mechanics:
Stab! Vulnerable(+2), gang-up(+1), called shot head/vitals(-4) : 1d8 - 1 ⇒ (2) - 1 = 11d6 - 1 ⇒ (5) - 1 = 4 total 4 vs parry (5-2 prone)3. A hit.
Damage,sneak attack, head/vitals hit: 1d6 ⇒ 51d4 ⇒ 11d6 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7 total 13 vs toughness 4. 3 wounds. Target had one wound remaining.

Side of the Other:
.There are 3 goblin bodies under the X's in the long red box.
..The rat/dog things marked 1 through 4 between Evesk and Jzero are hideous Goblin dogs. You know these things are bred as hunting/guard dogs by some tribes. They are fast and their bite carries a disease or venom that has been likened to a dozen wasp stings. Not lethal but VERY painful.
...A handful of goblins have arrived via the open north gate.
....The guitar player marked 2 is a goblin Warchanter. A bard able to cast some useful magic and bolster their fellows. They are armed with a whip, a bow and a crude knife/shortsword.
.....And last but not least the fine gentleman in the north-central part of the map is a goblin, larger than the rest riding a larger than normal Goblin dog and wielding a bow and a crude Pole-arm.

Velrek and Jzero have actions.

There's one Goblin left that's one Wound away from dying.

If you want to attack the goblin together, you'd get a +1 gang-up bonus. Go for it and let's end this loooooooong fight!

Velrek gives the Gobbo a grin and takes a step or two to allow Jzero to flank on the other side, using the threat of his large sword to keep it's attention. Once Jzero is close, he strikes.

Jzero's flying fists of fury miss the little critter, but Velrek's sword cleaves it in two.

Aldern, who had been watching the fight from behind a rain barrel, comes out and says "Thanks for saving me, strangers!". Looking at Ceri, he says "My dear, your prowess in battle is excelled only by your beauty." From his clothes, you can see that he is a noble of some kind.

To which a flustered Ceri blushes and says "Why, thank you kindly. My name is Ceri, what's yours?"

"My name is Aldern Foxglove, and I'd like to repay you all for saving my life. How about we all meet tomorrow at the Rusty Dragon for lunch?"

Everyone can reply to his question (after which he leaves), and introduce themselves to the rest of the group. You can give as much or as little info as you like.

Oh, and everyone's Benny count is reset to 3. Also, I was going to do this anyway because of the duration of the combats, but the adventure path says you can take an Advancement. Please post your choice in Discussion and update your Paizo character sheet, thanks!

Ummm...where is everyone? I thought everyone wanted a fast game? I can commit to checking the game page every day, and always posting when needed. But it's been 3 days since my kick-off post, and no one's responded...

Apologies. I did see this Monday morning and thought "I'm busy now, will reply later" and work has been a bear all week.

Velkrek wipes his sword clean and steps up to Aldern, hand extended.
"Greetings. I'm Velrek. If you are buying food, i'll be there! For now we should be sure this immediate threat to the area is over."

If it's quiet Velrek will unabashedly check the dead enemies for loot as well.

Jzero gives Aldern a polite bow to acknowledge his invitation. He then does what he can to help the damaged city recover, fighting fires, helping injured get to someone who can help them, chasing off any goblins still lurking about.

Sorry for the delay. I am a bit over extended in PBP games and have been dealing with a situation with my brother, who just had to go to the hospital. Yesterday was a long work day.

Ag d8. Sm d4. Sp d6 Str d10 Vi. d6 | Pace 6 Parry 6 (+2w/ shield, +1 w/ 2H Sword) Size 1 Toughness 9 (3)

I hope everything with your brother turns out positively!

Me too. Just my luck, I kickoff on a week that's been busy for everyone. ;)
Evesk?

Ceri agrees to meet Aldern tomorrow, then introduces herself to everyone, and says "Well, does everyone want to stay together as we get rid of the rest of the goblins? We seem to make a pretty good team. Velrek and Evesk, you're pretty good with your weapons, and Jzero is pretty good even without a weapon. As you can probably guess, I'm a mage, and when I shape-shift I can do some damage too."

Just then, everyone hears a loud horn blow. In the distance, you see goblins stop whatever they're doing and head for the nearest city gate.

What do you do?

Ag d8. Sm d4. Sp d6 Str d10 Vi. d6 | Pace 6 Parry 6 (+2w/ shield, +1 w/ 2H Sword) Size 1 Toughness 9 (3)

"Agreed on staying together. This is an effective team. However, it appears they are retreating.I think chasing them would be dangerous. I wonder if there is someone in charge who can tell us what's going on. If not, perhaps this Aldern person will on the morrow."

Chaos reigns in the city for the next few hours, as small fires are put out everywhere, and order is slowly restored. Due to the goblins' very chaotic nature and the fact that they're easily distracted, not many people were wounded very seriously.

Unless anyone wants to do anything in particular, you can go back to your inn (where you all happen to be conveniently staying together), and meet Aldern tomorrow for lunch.

Please post anything you want to do until then. From a previous post, after the introductions, Jzero goes off to help put out the fires, and Ceri helps him. If you don't want to do anything, please post "Doing nothing" (or something similar) so I know you've made a decision.

P.S. - Velrek : the goblins are using goblin weapons and goblin armor, which are very low quality. You know there's not much call for merchants to buy these. A few of them have a few coppers in their pockets, which in total don't even amount to a gold piece.

Ag d8. Sm d4. Sp d6 Str d10 Vi. d6 | Pace 6 Parry 6 (+2w/ shield, +1 w/ 2H Sword) Size 1 Toughness 9 (3)

Velrek laughs at the quality of the 'loot' and goes off to help with fires and rescues. He then sleeps a very sound sleep of the tired that night. He is mostly rested and ready for a heart luncheon..

Evesk acknowledges the individual he had protected and makes a mental note to show up at the Rusty Dragon once the situation is under control. Then he quickly moves off to make sure that others are also safe and that any help needed is rendered where he can help, dispatching any more goblins that he encounters. Evesk will be sure to deliver whatever equipment the Goblins might have had to the local blacksmith as well as put the dead Goblins upon the final funeral pire used to purge the filth. He will also stop in at the Cathedral to check in with his potential superiors where he will also spend the evening prior to going to the luncheon at the Rusty Dragon.
