Yep sorry Hmm :(
We got a lot of interest from GM's which was great. Our initial plan was to get maybe six or seven GM's and run the event - and keep it at that. Due to popular demand we expanded out further to ten, which became twelve and we capped it. Sadly it was then pointed out Boon support doesn't kick in until fifteen - double the size we were looking to run, mostly my interest in seeing the opportunity for some people to get boons, and also because there were so many people missing out.
As it is our first go around organising a multi-table special we have hard capped it at fifteen and I don't suspect we will go above that. Our main concern is that this is the first shot we don't have a firm handle on just how much work gets generated from running these events (we know what the Scenario demands, and I can see the likely admin pile at the end inputting all the data) - but what volume of information requests/issues/no shows etc gets generated by the players and GM's is a bit unknown.
Anyhow, I have really 'felt the love' in the number of people wanting to be involved which is great, and that will allow us to kick in to the next special in short order and can do so with a better understanding of the concerns above.

A hard cap of 15 tables? So I will likely not be able to join even if I recruited my own players?
Very well. I'll try to keep an eye out in recruitment as well now. I'm just bummed because I've been scouring the Online PFS and Online Campaigns General Discussion forums for weeks, looking for an announcement of a new group special or gameday for which I could GM. I didn't think to look in recruitment, which I think of for individual campaigns.
It's my own darn fault, I guess. I should have looked here too, but I was trying to avoid the siren call of joining another campaign. What I probably should have done is what you guys did: coordinated one of these myself to see what would happen!
Hmm

I can't. My boyfriend and I always play specials together. Paired PFS builds is our thing. That's why I was looking to actually GM one pbp, because I haven't been able to volunteer for the specials in my area.
But thank you for the offer. I'll have to be more vigilant about catching the next one of these early. Or wait for a month or two after this one ends, and organize my own event and make one of these happen.
Hmm

I agree. Sometimes it is hard to get into a group. :(

I've been looking for a PBP Gameday announcement in the Online PFS Forum under the Grand Lodge, or in the General Discussion area. I was not expecting that it would be announced first in recruitment. I nearly missed this.
At any rate, let me know if you need more tables. I would be happy to GM.
Hmm
Wow, I nearly missed it as well. Well, I did miss it from the GM side. May I suggest that GMs are recruited through email from the previous specials or game days? Then you can have tables pre-determined before announcements recruiting are made.
Now, I am off to see if I can at least still sign up as a player :)

On the other hand, I am hoping we end up with that sort of database for our future Multis' as an outcome of running this.
Maybe not, but a VO could send out the email with 'please email Shifty' or 'register on Shifty's spreadsheet *link*' or something like that.

@Debug - thats great news! I'm doing this in reverse order, Overseering the PbP then Overseering live in July.
@Fedora - Yep, there is a running sheet being finalised off which will give you the projected dates/timings for each stage. There is some fuzzy math that is applied, and we are working with the same general conversions being used by the Paizo team (per the last event). They have started preparing worksheets for PbP Multi specials, and there is some great detail. I look forward to getting you those timings shortly!

From playing in the Siege of Serpents special during the last PbP Gameday there are so many days allotted for each phase of the scenario and when it was time to move to a new phase each game did so whether the group had done everything possible for the current phase or not. I don't know exactly how Shifty & Co. are working it out this time but last time I didn't feel especially rushed by the time constraints.
That being said, since there is a timer, it's in everyone's bests interest to try and at least post 1/day if possible :)

We're using the same ratio of time as Siege of Serpents.
Jesse and co have built a bunch of running sheets and timings that we are adopting for this, which means future events will be heaps easier to run as we don't need to reinvent the wheel (and what we had developed was pretty close, duplicated effort but worthwhile)

Nella looks around expectantly at the throng, standing on tiptoe to see better. "I know they said more would be along to help but who?"
GM Magabeus is out of town until the start date but he's got the Gameplay/Discussion threads up for his table and only two of us have checked in so far. If you're at his table be sure to check your PMs :)
