If people can play both tables, does that mean another table might open from the waitlist for me to GM? Should I create a table, and hope that it will fill?

The spreadsheet has a GM waitlist with five GMs waiting to pick up a table...might want to add your name if you haven't already.

Grand Lodge

I missed that there was a GM wait list on that table. This is what comes of viewing tables in mobile format. It's easy to miss a column. Huh. With that many GMs waiting, I may need to muster a table of players myself.

Hmm

Yep sorry Hmm :(

We got a lot of interest from GM's which was great. Our initial plan was to get maybe six or seven GM's and run the event - and keep it at that. Due to popular demand we expanded out further to ten, which became twelve and we capped it. Sadly it was then pointed out Boon support doesn't kick in until fifteen - double the size we were looking to run, mostly my interest in seeing the opportunity for some people to get boons, and also because there were so many people missing out.

As it is our first go around organising a multi-table special we have hard capped it at fifteen and I don't suspect we will go above that. Our main concern is that this is the first shot we don't have a firm handle on just how much work gets generated from running these events (we know what the Scenario demands, and I can see the likely admin pile at the end inputting all the data) - but what volume of information requests/issues/no shows etc gets generated by the players and GM's is a bit unknown.

Anyhow, I have really 'felt the love' in the number of people wanting to be involved which is great, and that will allow us to kick in to the next special in short order and can do so with a better understanding of the concerns above.

Grand Lodge

A hard cap of 15 tables? So I will likely not be able to join even if I recruited my own players?

Very well. I'll try to keep an eye out in recruitment as well now. I'm just bummed because I've been scouring the Online PFS and Online Campaigns General Discussion forums for weeks, looking for an announcement of a new group special or gameday for which I could GM. I didn't think to look in recruitment, which I think of for individual campaigns.

It's my own darn fault, I guess. I should have looked here too, but I was trying to avoid the siren call of joining another campaign. What I probably should have done is what you guys did: coordinated one of these myself to see what would happen!

Hmm

Sign on as a player then!

I can't. My boyfriend and I always play specials together. Paired PFS builds is our thing. That's why I was looking to actually GM one pbp, because I haven't been able to volunteer for the specials in my area.

But thank you for the offer. I'll have to be more vigilant about catching the next one of these early. Or wait for a month or two after this one ends, and organize my own event and make one of these happen.

Hmm

Dark Archive

Hmm, also keep an eye on the Flaxseed Lodge. This was announced there first, I believe.

I agree. Sometimes it is hard to get into a group. :(

Not at this event, there are still spaces :)

I've been looking for a PBP Gameday announcement in the Online PFS Forum under the Grand Lodge, or in the General Discussion area. I was not expecting that it would be announced first in recruitment. I nearly missed this.

At any rate, let me know if you need more tables. I would be happy to GM.

Hmm

Wow, I nearly missed it as well. Well, I did miss it from the GM side. May I suggest that GMs are recruited through email from the previous specials or game days? Then you can have tables pre-determined before announcements recruiting are made.

Now, I am off to see if I can at least still sign up as a player :)

Not sure that information would be readily handed over to us :(

On the other hand, I am hoping we end up with that sort of database for our future Multis' as an outcome of running this.

Maybe not, but a VO could send out the email with 'please email Shifty' or 'register on Shifty's spreadsheet *link*' or something like that.

Not a bad idea, good suggestion for future organisers.

Dark Archive

Hey Shifty, any idea when the scenarios are going to be sent out from the scenario support?

Jesse has emailed me to let me know the request has been lodged etc. They should start showing up 'soonish' :)

Dark Archive

Awesome. Thanks!

Do we have a start date yet?

07 June.

Lantern Lodge

By the way, for those following this and not already in a Core game, there are three spots at the higher tier Core game still available. I'm happy to take pre-gens if you want to play one, though I'd prefer a non pre-gen if possible.

Should GM's have received their scenarios already?

Note in from Jesse - they should be out next Monday :)

Paizocon ran across our path like the runaway beast it is.

I'll put together another update this weekend, we have just been thinking out the final processes.

Sovereign Court

Yes. It is a beast. I'm eagarly awaiting the scenario and I ahve a full table!

Yay!

For what it's worth, my download email just arrived about five minutes ago. I'm going to download it when I get home from work and set all the maps up on slides to get ready. :)

Yep.

They have started being sent out.

Exciting stuff!

Got mine! I'll be playing in this special at Strategicon this weekend (in person) and will give it a good readthrough immediately afterwards.

So can someone fill me in on how multi-table specials work in Play by Post? Because as I recall there's time limits involved to keep everyone roughly on pace with each other.

@Debug - thats great news! I'm doing this in reverse order, Overseering the PbP then Overseering live in July.

@Fedora - Yep, there is a running sheet being finalised off which will give you the projected dates/timings for each stage. There is some fuzzy math that is applied, and we are working with the same general conversions being used by the Paizo team (per the last event). They have started preparing worksheets for PbP Multi specials, and there is some great detail. I look forward to getting you those timings shortly!

From playing in the Siege of Serpents special during the last PbP Gameday there are so many days allotted for each phase of the scenario and when it was time to move to a new phase each game did so whether the group had done everything possible for the current phase or not. I don't know exactly how Shifty & Co. are working it out this time but last time I didn't feel especially rushed by the time constraints.

That being said, since there is a timer, it's in everyone's bests interest to try and at least post 1/day if possible :)

We're using the same ratio of time as Siege of Serpents.

Jesse and co have built a bunch of running sheets and timings that we are adopting for this, which means future events will be heaps easier to run as we don't need to reinvent the wheel (and what we had developed was pretty close, duplicated effort but worthwhile)

Dark Archive

I don't want to miss this - but is this thread just recruiting DMs so far?

Player registration has also taken place, but at this stage we have 14 out of 15 tables full, my suggestion is jump on a waitlist for the tier you want...

I signed up in a wait-list spot for tier 5-6, but if space opens up in one of the tier 1-2 I'm willing to switch to a new character.

Grand Lodge

How important is it to follow the Overseer announcements?

Some things in the plot are only told via Overseer announcements. Your GM may or may not be also posting them in the thread.

For the people at my table:

I have send you a PM with the link to the campaign. If for whatever reason you decide not to play can you please inform me and qwerty1971 (on waitinglist)?

Thanks!

does this have any openings -- level 10?

nightdeath wrote:

I'll send you through the link separately - they should have emailed out.

Lantern Lodge

Is there a thread for GM discussions, timings and other such things?

You should have received the website invitation for GM's, it is on the same site as the Overseer posts. Your invite would have been sent to your email addy you registered with, but in Nightdeaths case it went to his Spam.

Dark Archive

GM Evil's table is up and ready to dot in on. If I don't hear from you in three days, I'll send you a PM. :)

Liberty's Edge

I've played and GM'd this. I dropped out so GlennH can play.

Thanks Qstor!

I've found an open slot in one of the 1-2 tier tables.

Haven't heard from Merck on my 3-4 table. If someone is interested in a 3-4 spot, sign up on the Arrowhawk wait list and be ready to go.

Dark Archive

An old but jubilant gnome wanders around the crowd of amassing Pathfinder agents. Any other experienced CORE adventurers who'd like to join us?

Still high level CORE slots for 5-9. Pregens welcome!

Good work guys :)

All 6 of my players have checked into the discussion thread for our 5-6 subtier table.

Wei Ji is on the wait list if someone has a slot that would accommodate him at their table (I'm not sure if he has PCs that could play other subtiers).

Silver Crusade

Nella looks around expectantly at the throng, standing on tiptoe to see better. "I know they said more would be along to help but who?"

GM Magabeus is out of town until the start date but he's got the Gameplay/Discussion threads up for his table and only two of us have checked in so far. If you're at his table be sure to check your PMs :)
