Food above! Be patient... Not yet... NOW!!
The desert sands explode as a savage African desert shark bursts up from its underground burrow!
Surprise leap attack! Claw at Giovanna’s horse 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (7) + 12 = 19 deals 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (4, 2) + 6 = 12 damage! Second claw at Giovanna’s horse 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (7) + 12 = 19 deals 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (1, 1) + 6 = 8 damage, tearing the horse apart in a shower of blood! Claw at Volreg’s horse 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (14) + 12 = 26 dealing 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (3, 2) + 6 = 11 damage! Claws again at Volreg’s horse 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (14) + 12 = 26 dealing 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (4, 4) + 6 = 14 damage and ripping Volreg’s horse apart!

Volreg Sundek |

Volreg attempts to acrobatics away from the creature as the horse he was riding on erupts into a fountain of blood and body parts, hoping to not get attacked by the creature that caused his horse's life to end prematurely, but stumbles a bit, before jumping. Legs burning, he pushes his muscles further than they have gone before, embracing the electrical pain coursing through his body! As he flies though the air the man pulls out his longspear before landing in the sand.
Acrobatics (Try to not get attacked): 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (4) + 10 = 14 This may hurt a bit, haha.
Jump: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (5) + 14 = 19 Air's Leap with a point of burn makes the jump a 60 ft long jump, away from the creature.
First time actually using Air's Leap.... Feels a bit Monkish, but with more danger involved!

Wulfgar Ivarsson |
'What the blazes?' Hearing the screaming of horses, Wulfgar turns his stallion around in time to see Giovanna’s horse shredded under her. As the large shark-like creature attack Volregs doomed beast. "What the blazes is that?" Urging his mount toward the creature as Vulreg springs away. Wulfgar begins to rage, taking on a heavenly visage. He lifts his greatsword, swinging it at the large carnivore. His strike misses so badly that he almost falls off of his mount.

Altin Karela |

Being careful to stay out of range of the beast's attacks, Altin moves up behind Wulgar, singing as he does, and lays his hand on his friend's back, emitting a final, stirring note.
Happy birthday Wulfgar, just cast heroism on you. That's a +2 to attack rolls, saves, and skill checks for 40 mins.
EDIT: Actually, would that provoke GM? If so, I need to make a caster check. Hmmm... That changes things. 55% chance of spell failure. If that would provoke, I probably need to reassess and choose another option.

You’re good, Volreg already provoked its AoO this round, and it doesn’t have Combat Reflexes (at least I don’t think so... double checking... Nope, cast away!)...

Gojira, King of Kaiju |

Tuesday, January 9th, in the Sea of Japan, 9:00 AM:
Halfway around the world, in the Sea of Japan, a meteor plummets to the Earth, descending into the briny depths to impact with great force, causing a tidal wave and typhoons to devestate the coasts of Asia!
Worse yet, the impact awakens from centuries of slumber the mighty King of Kaiju, Gojira!
The reptilian colossus opens a giant yellow eye, enraged at being awakened, and famished from centuries of hibernation...
Up from the depths rises the Titan, thirty stories high, causing more flooding and typhoons across Asia...
OH NO! There goes Edo! GODZILLA!!

Sun Wukong, The Monkey King |

In The Celestial Court, the Monkey King gawks in surprise as the meteor crashes into Earth and awakens the King of Kaiju!
Oh boy! What is this! Emperor Shang Ti has cast a falling star into our Game of Mortals to awaken the great kaiju of the world! I wonder who Gojira will awaken next to join in his rampage...

That was the roll where Altin reminded me to use 'Heroism' because I had forgotten. So I thought it would be 23 with the flank. Not that it matters, wulfgar will live, and that was my biggest concern. Of course the hide or the carcass of this beast, would be a great trophy to drag into Safi to prove our prowess :-)

Mwikali’s flaming sphere sears the beast’s hindquarters as it tries to escape into the desert sands, and Lord Perpireen’s telekinesis-hurled rock lands a telling blow! Wulfgar’s earlier strike, which had seemed to bounce harmlessly off its stony shell, actually split the plate, which can now be seen to crack open, releasing a torrent of the bulette’s life’s blood! With a mighty groan, the monster falls still, slain by the Desert Jackals!
GGGRRRRRRAAAARRRNNN!!! *GASP!!*
It lies lifeless, it’s front half buried in the desert sand, it’s rear half bleeding from several deep gashes and puncture wounds!
Well done, Desert Jackals! A most impressive trophy is now yours to harvest and carry on your mules into Safi! Also, a nice XP award...

Michael Johnson 66 |

Alas, the harrowing battle against the bulette has left the party with two less mules than they started out with, but this is a small inconvenience compared to the abundance of edible bulette meat and impressive trophy they can now harvest.
The eight gladiators and twelve harem women help the Desert Jackals prepare the bulette meat and the armor plates, dividing the load among their many mules, horses, and camels, a task that takes under half an hour with all the help.

Wulfgar Ivarsson |
... a task that takes under half an hour with all the help.
under half an hour, the heck with saving the world, we should go start a butcher shop :-) Sorry about the confusion on Wulfgar's attack.
Breathing a heavy sigh of relief, Wulfgar releases the rage. Looking around he's Volreg is also wounded. He gives a weak smile, waiving Volreg over. Speaking loudly, "All who are wounded come near." He then begins to channel the gift from Raphael to heal his friends and himself.
Seeing Volreg's wounds almost healed, he smiles and nods "That should hold you." As he helps cut up the creature, he realizes his wounds were worse than he thought and sends more healing to his own body.
Once the butchering was done, he mounts on his stallion, "Shall we continue to Safi?"

Having harvested more than enough bulette meat to feed the entire caravan for the rest of the journey to Safi, the caravan rides west across the hard pan desert.
The trio of buzzards glut themselves on the scraps before taking to the sky to scout ahead.
The sun slowly dips westward, and evening brings chill winds that howl like the souls of the damned through apertures in strange rock formations.
Night falls, and the travelers feel the exertions of their travels, especially the Desert Jackals, who also feel the soreness in their muscles from their harrowing battle with the bulette.
A Survival check can be attempted to locate a safe campsite, if anyone is inclined to roll one... DC 15 for a suitable site...

Michael Johnson 66 |

[dice=survival]1d20+4
As the evening waines, Wurlgar looks around, "This looks like a safe campsite, shall we stop here for the evening?"
Wulfgar locates a horseshoe-shaped rock outcropping, about ten feet high, with a flat space of hard pan relatively free of rocks within, about thirty feet in diameter. The open end of the horseshoe is about thirty feet wide. It seems a pretty safe place to set camp, as predators would be forced to enter from the open side, or else clamber over a ten-foot-high wall of rock.

Volreg Sundek |

Taking Oparah's hand and hoisting himself onto the mount, gets himself settled. "Thank you for the help Oparah." With most of hi wounds healed, Volreg's concern was about his legs. Something compelled him to leap away, but what it was, he didn't know. Lost in thought as to the past couple of days, he doesn't pay attention to much anything until the horses stop.

Altin Karela |

After camp has been set up and bulette portions are roasting merrily over the fire, Altin takes out his small Romani flute and begins playing something to lighten the mood. After a tune or two he asks if anyone else plays or sings.
