Wrath of the Righteous AP

Game Master The March Hare

The Worldwound tore reality apart at the dawn of the Age of Lost Omens, murdering the nation of Sarkoris and unleashing a ravenous demonic horde upon the world. Only the quick action of several other nations of knights, barbarians, and heroes stemmed the demon army and contained it within lost Sarkoris, and for the next century, crusade after crusade tried to defeat the demons only to fail time and time again. Their greatest success, the line of magical artifacts known as wardstones that stand sentinel along the Worldwound's border, barely manages to contain the demons. So when one of the wardstones is sabotaged, a city falls and the demons within surge out in a massive assault like none before. Even before the Fifth Crusade has begun a city has fallen and some of the crusaders' greatest defenders and heroes are slain. Can anyone rise up against the demon host to prevent the armies of Deskari, the demon lord of the Locust Host, from swallowing the world?

About 5 hours or so, now.

Okay, profile updated; background added.

Hey! I hope I'm not too late to submit someone here.

I present Axton Lionheart of Kenabres, Gunslinging Crusader of Iomedae

1hour and 20 minutes to go - but I will still give it a try. On it :D

Shoot, I'm still at work. Well I'll try to get something up by tonight, but if you gotta choose without me I'll try for the next one.

Soooo many characters. I'm impressed.

There.

I have added the Background information to Heldars' alias - it is not as rich and complete as I would like it to be, but I believe it gives off a quite decent idea of what moves the man - any questions are welcome of course :D

P.S. Apologies, but since I didn't want to risk losing the text to some forum hiccup, I copy/pasted it from Word, and the formatting is all messed up. I will correct it now, but at least the info is already there.

Hmm, this is going to be a tall order. Time to get to work!

Mirel bows her head and touches her tattoo on her belly, praying to Calistria that she is chosen to ventuire into the Worldwound.

Fingers crossed. Good luck to all!

Sotharal waited calmly. She hoped that whatever mysterious power had granted her her magic would give her the strength to be chosen for this grand adventure into the Worldwound.

Well then. Let's see if the Crusaders require my assistance.

Cyril sat in the pews of the temple, waiting for the messenger.

As uncle Anvil always said, life is like a vegetable garden. You never know what you gonna get till the time of harvest comes.
But make no mistake, uncle Anvil was no gardener. Although he had a book about Gray Gardeners, I imagine it did not help him much with gardening, as the subtitle read Insane Ways to Plow the Fields of Men and Weed Out the Undesirables.
But anyway as all the contestants seem more than capable it will be a hard decision. We may take comfort in the knowledge that no matter who will be picked this Crusade will have the means to be successful, not like the last two failures. Hopefully the emerging leaders will be up. Uncle Anvil always said, you cannot lead a mounted charge if you do not know how to ride a horse. Even though my riding skills are somewhat lacking I say let the best dwarf win! After all, I am not really trying to be a leader here or to participate in mounted combat. The only thing I successfully mounted was Mount ... and it is more of a hill.
Every leader needs a trusted companion and I would be honored to serve in that capacity.
And one last thing before I get back to the delicious lunch: May the (dwarven strike) force be with us all!

Progress made, I have narrowed the applicants down to a short list. Still some tough cuts to make, unfortunately. Stay tuned.

The usual calm man remains seated with a smile on his face, the only tell tale of his impatience being the rythmic drumming of his fingers on the table, as he sips on his mead.

Sarge taps the quartermaster on the shoulder, "Ey bucko, know anything about the latest crew of new fish to show up around here?" Jackram puts his ear to the ground to find out what he can.

Diaudius waited calmly hoping to recieve a new job to pay his fathers debt.

Patience is such a simple sounding word.

Sajani-- a young olive-skinned man, slight and inobtrusive-- offers a small smile to those gathered before the roster board, flipping a coin in his deft fingers and checking to see whether it's crown or tails.

"Desna's luck will guide the choice, I'm sure. But there's nothing to say we can't help fate along, is there?"

The old mercenary sits alone, waiting. So many young faces. Most of them are young enough to be my children! Why are young people so willing to throw their lives away? There's nothing left in this world for an old dog like me - I should be out there, not them.

He hopes this won't take too long - he can feel Alfsigr's nervousness in the back of his mind. Easy, girl. One way or another, we'll be out of here soon. He heaves a deep sigh, the sigh of a man weary with the world, weary with life.

So in the end, I kind of threw party balance out the window, and took the six character concepts that resonated the most strongly. I hope everyone realizes that this was a tough call, and I had to leave some really strong applicants on the cutting room floor. Would the creators of the following six PCs please report to the discussion thread:

Vaashti C'tan
Aaliyah El-Amin
Sajani Gupachandra
Kel the Guardsman
Kosz Trumpeter
Jens Varmodsson

I sincerely thank you all for taking the time to submit your character concepts for this game. I wish you all good gaming and good fortune in the future!

Sotharal nodded.
Oh well,, she thought,
I suppose I must seek my destiny elsewhere.[/I]

Congrats to those who were chosen!

Good luck to ya all. Let Desna smile on you during your travels!

Sanjay bows to those assembled with a sheepish smile. "I surely hope Desna will. May the goddess smile on you as well, all of you, and our paths meet in some other life!"

Try to enjoy yourselves!

Ah well. Congratulations on those who won -- and good luck. Hare, thanks for considering my application.
