Verim Pharae |
" Hey cultists, let me show you why.. even drunk, you stand no chance.. I bet you havent even experienced love or compassion.. Let me introduce you to them! " As Verim tries to match his rhythm with the man in front of him throwing in feints until the man slips up so that could go for the exposed left and then the head afterward. He intended to give the cultist a headache as bad as his own. The spirit reared up on its spectral horse and swung wildly with its Greatsword timing its sweeping strike with Verim's.
Raging Twin Shield Bash (Love): 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 211d4 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
Raging Twin Morningstar Smash (Compassion): 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (19) + 3 = 221d8 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9
Spiritual Greatsword: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 241d4 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
Afterward he would inch his way closer to the Scythe-bearer. Wincing slightly from all the movement and sound, he gives a thumbs up to Wendaug and slog his way there.
Full Attack, 5ft step
Holy crap the god Cayden smiles upon him this day.. those rolls
Mia Rumsfield |
Spellcraft: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (15) + 9 = 24
Ow, that's not good.
"Why you mean..."
Mia's attention of the evil eye shifts to Hontor.
Penalty -2 to AC
Luciana Moretti |
Moving to one side to get away from the nearest cultist and face-to-face with the ringleader, she drew on a reserve of power she hadn't yet had the chance to use since the invasion.
Golden light shined from her eyes as she fixed her gaze on Hontor and swung her blade. To her perceptions, she could see how he would try to dodge or parry the attack and so struck at an angle she could see would be hardest for him to defend against.
Smite Evil on Hontor
Power Attack: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (19) + 9 = 28
Damage: 1d8 + 9 ⇒ (3) + 9 = 12
Woo!
Crit Confirm: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (1) + 9 = 10
EDIT: Damnit.
Laris D'Vagne |
Laris steps between the cultists, keeping out of reach of their weapons, swinging her Glaive at the one lurking back from the battle-line.
Glaive: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25 Dmg: 1d10 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11
Confirmation?: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7 Naw
Tallina Kapok |
Letting the rage fill her, Tallina swings her scythe with all her might.
"Out of my way, you harm this city no longer!"
Scythe: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (20) + 6 = 262d4 + 4 ⇒ (3, 1) + 4 = 8
Scythe Confirm: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (19) + 6 = 256d4 + 12 ⇒ (1, 1, 3, 2, 2, 3) + 12 = 24
F@#? Yeah! 32 damage. If he's dead from the scythe the spirit will go for Maxwell's enemy.
Spirit: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (14) + 5 = 191d4 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6
She then steps over the corpse of the man to aid Maxwell or help the woman should the need arise.
---Tobongo---
The tree swings his limbs hoping to strike true, unfortunately one of his swings goes wide.
Power Slam #1: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 = 191d6 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8
Power Slam #2: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 51d6 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11
Verim Pharae |
Im confused, Laris did attack the same opponent right? So that mean it took.. 25ish damage before Wendaug's attack to fall. Im sure Verim did a little less and the enemy fell, so Wendaug's attack would either go on another enemy OR it would have gone on the bossman.. just a note.
Maxwell Lionheart |
Attack: 1d20 ⇒ 8 Nope
Swinging his flail again, Maxwell merely catches air. With that, he merely braces for the next inevitable strike that is most certainly on his way, paying little attention to Tallina's skillful blow.
He did, however, eyeball the scythe that the man was wielding in the distance. Dammit all, Verim, don't do anything reckless. is the only thought that crosses his mind.
5 Foot step
Taking a quick surge back, he looks at the most direct path to Luciana and her enemy, gripping his weapon as tightly as he can, and prepares to go for him as soon as even the slightest opening presents itself. "The minions can't bring me down in a single hit... I'm going to have to eat a blow."
"Verim! Make room! Go the long way round, or I won't make it over to help!"
Verim Pharae |
'Verim'.. and.. 'Not reckless' heh. Though outside of that I assume thats a cue you will want to try and charge?
Verim sways a bit as he fells his opponent with relative ease, his shield colliding with the man's face and morningstar with his gut. His risen ancestor landing a solid blow to the the Cultist's soul. Shaking his head as he approached the Scythe-user he couldnt help but become giddy and the pain from the sword wound distracted him from the hangover once the adrenaline got pumping. He laughed enjoying the battle, looking over his shoulder to Maxwell, " Really!? Then you should have eaten your dance partner eh? Laris and Tali beat theirs, but I'll see what I can do.. This man with the scythe might actually be worth his salt! I hope he doesn't break too fast. Oh and It seems the hangover is still effecting you love, don't worry you'll get better at it! " passing an affectionate wink to Wendaug at the end.
DM Nightbringer |
Yes, Laris hit him previously, Wendaug would have hit Hontor.
Seeing his men rapidly falling and having been hit several times, Honotor grins as the black flames on his scythe take on a deep red tint as he attacks Luciana. Feel the wrath of Deskari paladin.
Sycthe is keen, power attack
Scythe: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (15) + 10 = 25
Damage: 2d4 + 1d6 + 18 ⇒ (2, 4) + (1) + 18 = 25
The two remaining cultists square off against Tallina and Tobongo, flailing about with their swords in a panicked manner.
Longsword: Tallina: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
Longsword: Tobongo: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
Verim Pharae |
Verim sees Luciana have the blade carved against the flesh and dropped. His expression changes only slightly.. this man clearly meant business. That excited him even more. Rushing over Verim leaped somewhat and swung his shield at the Man from the side, the spiritual horseman riding alongside and swiping at the Deskari worshiper with his Greatsword. " Hey Deskari-lover! Try and pick on someone your own size! "
Raging Shield Bash: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (8) + 7 = 151d4 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
Spiritual Greatsword: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (14) + 5 = 191d4 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
Maxwell Lionheart |
Italics for me are always thought to himself.
Seeing verim teeter around and flirt with Wendaug as Luciana took a massive blow finally gave Maxwell enough reason to lose his often stalwart cool. "PAY ATTENTION TO YOUR SURROUNDINGS YOU LECHEROUS CUR!" he bellows as he looks for an opening to proceed. Finally, he finds it, and proceeds to move as hastily as he can to land a decisive blow, carrying the weight of his rage and confliction.
Overhead Smash: 1d20 + 7 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (11) + 7 + 1 + 1 = 20
Damage: 1d10 + 9 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 9 + 1 + 1 = 12
He doesn't even have the clarity to tell whether he hits or not.
Verim Pharae |
Verim roars back sharptoothed and all the tint to his skin having not come up this entire battle " HA! I DONT NEED TO HEAR THAT FROM A BOY WHO JUST GOT HIS BATTLE-LEGS! YOU PAY ATTENTION AND HIT FOR ONCE! " much like a psuedo-encouragement/insult
Tallina Kapok |
Tallina takes a 5ft step to the side and attacks with her scythe.
"Tobongo, attack, let's send these cultists to their lord."
Scythe: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (16) + 6 = 222d4 + 4 ⇒ (4, 1) + 4 = 9
Spirit Totem: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 91d4 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
---Tobongo---
Tobongo steps in between the cultists and joins Tallina in her attacks against the cultist.
Power Slam #1: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (18) + 6 = 241d6 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7
Power Slam #2: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 141d6 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9
Laris D'Vagne |
Laris moves around her companions and attempts another strike at the scythe wielding cultist, her singing ceases but seems to echo around the courtyard a while longer.
Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7 Dmg: 1d10 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13
Drop song, but lingering performance keeps effects for another 2 rounds, I'm also assuming Mia is going to dash in to heal up Lucianna, if I'm wrong about that then I'll move around and heal instead.
Verim Pharae |
Just a note.. Unless the enemy is particularly mindless.. or kind. You dont want to heal a downed ally.. who is right next to them.. ESPECIALLY when said enemy knows they are likely to die that next round. ESPECIALLY if their turn is about to come up. Unless you can do ALOT of healing and you know the enemy's strike WONT kill there person.
Mia Rumsfield |
^
I didn't intent to take such a hazardous option. Healing right now would be best done after the fight.
Verim Pharae |
I was noting in general.. as Laris suggested she would do so on her turn.. which would be dangerous.. considering he dropped Luci to unconscious with one hit.. and that It'd be easier if she was prone
Laris D'Vagne |
Sorry, old school player thought, back in some older D&D editions you just died at 0, our GM used to let us have 1 round to heal before death was permanent, it just became habit to try and heal as soon as someone drops
Mia Rumsfield |
;) Evil eye ftw
Assuming the enemies are all down..
Mia rushes towards Luciana,
"Luciana!"
Hastily kneeling at the head of the tiefling, she puts her head on her knees.
Heal hex: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
How far down are you?
Maxwell Lionheart |
Seeing Hontor slump and the remaining cultist flee, Maxwell turns to face the rest of them after he kneels and Stabilizes Luciana, provided she's still down. With that, however, he undoes a cap on his body and withdraws devil's blood from his inner pockets, dribbling just a tiny amount upon her forehead. It takes as one might expect and seeps within her readily.
[ooc]Infernal Healing 10 health gained slowly[ooc]
"Mia." Is all he says as he casts the girl a sharp look, as if to tell her to keep what she might know of the spell to herself.
Standing, and knowing the Paladin will be on her feet soon, Maxwell scoffs and punches the ground as he stands back up, somewhat hurting his wrist as he's legitimately angry. "Are you all happy? Are you satisfied? Is tea time finally OVER!?" is all he says as he coup de graces Hontor's limp body.
"Remember where we are. Look around. I'll grant the lot of you that I enjoy our precious quiet moments, but now is not the time to take things as casually as we've been." he ponts out as he places his flail back over himself.
Mia Rumsfield |
Mia just looks up, not really impressed by the stern gaze, but she does get what Maxwell is hinting at.
"Despite that, with both our healing she should get well soon."
So that's a total of 17 HP healed to Luciana.
Verim Pharae |
So thats 3 rounds worth of stuff your doing there , 17 over.. a minute of time
Verim smirks and rings his shield up against his scale mail and bellows out to Wendaug " Woooo! Nice shot, Well thats one for you.. Lets catch the straggler " He still had the power coursing through him and didnt want to take the chance of the enemy reporting back.. especially with what he had planned. With a devious grin Verim pursued the Spirits taking their strike at the Fleeing Cultist. " HA! You act as if I ever forgot, don't leave the job half-assed! " The Ghostly General raising his spectral banner aloft and cleaving downwards as it notices the time in the world was shortening.
Spiritual Greatsword: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 251d4 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
double move to catch his, Spirit attacks
Confirm Spiritual Greatsword: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 171d4 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
Tallina Kapok |
If that unholy symbol is not magical I have Tobongo smash it. Double damage to objects and all. Treant's are good at breaking things. For a total of 4d6 + 20/round of sundering doors or metal. Each slam dealing 2d6 + 10.
Coming down from the song that Laris had ceased singing, Tallina moves and grabs the unholy symbol. Throwing it on the ground she points to it.
"Tobongo, attack."
After the symbol is thoroughly destroyed She gets to her wounds.
CLW: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9
Wendaug |
Tonbongo easily crushes the unholy symbol as the last cultist continues to run, harried by the spirits surrounding Verim. On the platform, Wendaug moves to send a final arrow towards the fleeing man. The arrow deflects harmlessly off his armor. This would be easier if you were not in my line of fire boy.
Longbow: 1d20 + 11 - 2 - 8 ⇒ (17) + 11 - 2 - 8 = 18
Luciana Moretti |
Healing should put Luci at 10.
Luci came to with a groan, mentally kicking herself for letting herself get knocked out again while hoping that the healing she was given would keep her from getting any scars. Although she was wondering about the slight burning sensation on her forehead that was already fading.
"Max, calm down - shouting at people won't help. My fault I got my ass kicked, not anyone else's and nothing to do with taking things lightly." She stood up and retrieved her sword before going to check on the cultist's prisoner.
Verim Pharae |
I know it wont matter after this fight but just a note.. I noticed Wendaugs attack going down more and more.. Fatigued is only a -1 to attack.. not 2.. The other -8 I assume is from things like cover.. though she could jump down the stage.. and avoid that easily...OR the stage would be high enough that she could aim over Verim.. its most likely we catch the guy anyway
Verim Pharae |
Hunh, I'm surprised, as much as she uses a bow I would have thought she had it ah well
Verim grins widely at the cultist roaring, " You better give up! If I have to chase ya' it wont be anywhere near as forgiving in the end.. you cant outpace me anyhow! " turning his head to Wendaug who had narrowly missed HIM with that arrow, " Heh, sorry about that! You were a little close for comfort there though. "
Tallina Kapok |
If Verim wandered too far away there could be trouble, best to deal with the problems here and now.
"Let him go Verim, we need to stick together. And Max, one night of relaxation was something we all needed. Since the first attack on Kenabres there's been no end to everything trying to kill us. If you knew you would die today would you mope around with that permanent frown on your face, or would you spend time with people who care about you, eat good food, and live life to the fullest that you could?"
Grabbing one of the cold iron daggers, she shrugs and places it and it's sheathe on her belt.
Verim Pharae |
Verim sighed openly and looked down on the cultist giving a sideways glance. " We killed the other ones from before, but we let this one go? Your being a little kind today Wild Flower, but if ya' want! Count yourself lucky there Mr. Cultist, though I can't really say that, I'm sure we both know failure doesnt go over well with Cults. Most likely after you talk they'll sacrifice you. And thats assuming you make it back as Demons don't discriminate, really you should just surrender. " The battlelust waning from Verim's posture. [
b]" Your Move, Oh.. and the pretty lady with the bow over there? I don't exactly control what she want to kill.. and a Bow has pretty far reach.. Also I think she ate a man or two. Might not want to excite her by running. "[/b] He adds at the end with a chuckle and a toothy smile.
Mia Rumsfield |
Mia pokes Maxwell's arm.
"A smile once in a while, even if between brooding thinking, would suit Max- well.". ;)
Wendaug |
Wendaug moves up beside Verim before putting an arrow in the fleeing cultist's back. Bloodied and beaten, but still conscious, the man continues to run for his life.
Longbow: 1d20 + 11 - 1 ⇒ (16) + 11 - 1 = 26
Damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
The cultist is going to get away unless Verim wants to pursue him through the city streets. Eventually you would catch him, but may risk another encounter.
Laris D'Vagne |
Laris moves up to the bound woman, checking her over for wounds and cutting her ropes."Hope they didn't rough you up too much, I'm Laris, glad we got to you before they did... whatever they were going to do." she helps the woman to her feet once the ropes are off.
would like a cold iron dagger or two, and we should split the cures, but Laris isn't too interested in anything else there.
Verim Pharae |
Verim places his hand on Wendaug's shoulder a staggers a bit as the rage subsides " Ugh, let him go, besides I need to lean on you for a second " Verim deciding that a little mercy was fine. His spirit looks fiercely upon the Cultist then down at Verim, nodding in approval before slowly drifting away into nothingness. Afterwards he tries to use Wendaug to stabilize himself more.
" The lady is safe so thats the important part, as wounded as he was he probably wont make it anywhere. "
DM Nightbringer |
The barely coherent woman, in her 40's, is wearing rags that appear to have been well made only days ago. She appears to have been badly abused over the past several days, with the mark of Deskari cut or burned into her body in at least a dozen places.
As Laris approaches, she whimpers and tries to crawl away, falling off the overturned wagon. Please, I'll do any you want, anything, just don't don't kill me.
Mia Rumsfield |
3's a crowd, but that doesn't matter right now.
Mia joins the other 2 for the aid.
"You'll be able to stand again in no time."
Heal hex: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
