Hrm I thought they already searched the bodies.. thus being able to note the contents of said bodies. Did I misunderstand?

DM Nightbringer |

I've only listed what they were holding, not what was on the bodies. Nobody has said they were searching, or even using detect magic.
This is intended as a non-combat encounter where the players investigate and discuss circumstances with each other and the NPC's, possibly discovering additional information foreshadowing Part II. I've tried to start the conversation using the NPC's and have been waiting to see if anybody wants to join in.

Oh i've read about where after a great battle the phone of one of the players went off, *victory tune from FF7*

They actually used that gag in Advent Children (an animated film sequel to FF7 for those who haven't seen it) - after Tifa gave a major beatdown to one of the film's antagonists, the tune starts playing and she looks around, wondering where it's coming from. Turns out to be the antagonist's ring tone: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k70IWHiXl18

Got the physical DvD.
@Nightbringer: We are the champions by any chance?

Tallina Kapok |

Sweet, I once played through 3.5 Expedition to Castle Ravenloft, and my gm's text message alert is a creepy voice saying "I SSSEEEE YOOOUU!" and every once in a while that going off while inside Castle Ravenloft is kind of unnerving. Granted I tore up that module because I figured out how to lock down Strahd.

Mia Rumsfield |

Read about a case where the group was tense due to very detailed descriptions of the eerie house they explored.
The phone of the GM's gf went off, a high chirping bird while some winged monstrosity came.
They jumped :), and since then the chirping was the imminent doomcall.

Tallina Kapok |

I hope nobody minds me grabbing the chain shirt. I'm going to use it as a grill for over a fire. I picked up a rank in Profession (Cook), and once I get heat metal I will be using that chain shirt for no fire grilling.

I cant wait for Verim to lass Change into a Great Lord, though If I could say most likely he would be some weird version of a Hero... Maybe a Hero Lord?
Also Verim could carry some stuff if necessary he's wearing Medium armor anyway.
Mia Rumsfield |

No, you go from fighter to Warrior or Hero.
Using Axes & Bows or Swords & Axes respectively.
*whistles a tune*

Verim Pharae |

Im a PC though so actually I start off at Lord
Fighter does turn into Warrior however, but because i am a Lord I am based on another class but am slightly different. So Knight/Fighter might be a closer approximation.
Then Hero/General or Hero/Warrior Kinda like Hector+Raven.. But with a shield.
And Fighters didnt become Hero's until recently.

Already ahead of ya cappin, Im trying to figure out a way for Verim to get Diplomacy soon though... curse the feat taxes.. Otherwise he'd updated.

Tallina Kapok |

Way ahead of you on that one. Gotta fix Tobongo's hp though. I think I put him at max when he's 4 under. I've been thinking of items to give to everybody if we get to level 3 and I can use masterwork transformation to rework some items for people. So far I have ideas for everybody but Mia.

I usually take Extra Traits + Ease of Faith, Influence, World Traveler or Extremely Fashionable.
While you're at it, grab a second trait like Cosmopolitan and put that rank of linguistics to good use.
Both my magus and my wizard paid the feat tax to expand their class skills and become the party face.
500 gp for an Ioun stone gets you a +1 to most skills.
Consider buying perfume? While it may get you laughed out of the barbarian club, the ladies won't complain.

I'm surprised Verim did not grab that second set of masterwork chain. It is better than what he's currently wearing, with no additional penalty.

Tallina Kapok |

Same, I have it if he wants it. Although after I cook that cave viper on it I'm not sure he'll want it.
So far here is what I'm looking at.
Verim - A tonfa with a groove on the inside through the elbow grip and narrowed at one end so it can be jammed into a barrel of ale and let the alcohol flow.
Lucianna - A cutlass with the hilt in the shape of Lymnieris' holy symbol if you've seen it in Chronicles of the Righteous.
Maxwell - Not too much but maybe a suit of armor with one of the pauldrons in the shape of Groetus' holy symbol and probably a recoloring of the armor.
Laris - A buckler with a tambourine around the edge, so while it won't have the canvas center it will still have the bells to make noise.
Mia - ???? No idea yet.

They aren't any better than what Im wearing. They have lower AC and is light, mine is medium and 1 higher.. also Im a fighter eventually armor wont matter for me.

And both of those classes are Casters and thus don't generally follow feat-lines. And have spells.. everything Verim does will pretty much be a feat. Sadly Verim is doing both the TWF and the Shield lines as well as the Defender line.. He has very little feats. I might just have to throw ranks in and be done with it. And perfume I couldnt see Verim wearing.

Verim Pharae |

The big thing about the armor however is; It came from traitors. Verim's armor reflects his belief in Arqueros and it is strong. Thus he rather not even wear their stuff let alone use their findings save for maybe the gold.

Tallina Kapok |

I'm actually surprised that Verim didn't worship Gorum and wage battle for the sake of battle. In Inner Sea Gods there was a religion trait called Shield Trained which would be perfect for Verim. It lets you treat a heavy shield as a light weapon.

Verim Pharae |

Im aware, But if you noticed, Verim isnt that type of guy, he isnt Chaotic enough to warrant Worshiping Gorum and He isn't Lawful enough to be a paladin. Unlike Gorum Arqueros is a lot more about protecting people and being really tough while being a beast in combat. And you might not have noticed but the shield is his main weapon.

Tallina Kapok |

Oh I've noticed, but the one phrase that seemed to stick out in Gorum's section of that book was a phrase that the Gorumites use. The phrase is simply "Will you fight?" Not can you fight, for some reason when I see that I can think of a Gorumite as a crusader. No matter how broken or beaten a Gorumite will fight. Even if it is just fighting for the sake of fighting.
The shield trained trait was actually the basis for a brawler fighter I was working on for a game that never got off the ground. It was a dwarven brawler with some two weapon fighting feats wielding a spiked shield in one hand and a regular shield in the other.

Luciana Moretti |

Lucianna - A cutlass with the hilt in the shape of Lymnieris' holy symbol if you've seen it in Chronicles of the Righteous.
Lymnieris' favoured weapon is a longsword, but I feel like he'd make an exception here. :P
On another matter; here's something scary for anyone familiar with Exalted and Mass Effect - Wrex learning Solar Hero Style. This crossover fic is just too damn awesome.

Mia Rumsfield |

Mia - ???? No idea yet.
Well witches don't use armor, so that saves the big materials.
Only proficient with simple weapons.A broom is too obvious, though be honost, a halfling flying around a chasm high above is pretty cool. She's got to watch her dress though.

Maxwell Lionheart |

Hey guys! Sincerest apologies but I'm on a moderate, miniscule bit of a vacation and shall resume posting normally on Sunday. Sincerest apologies that I didn't do anything in the ways of telling you all that earlier.
Also holy shit you guys post the most of any pbp I'm in and I love you all for it. DMPC as needed, please, I love this campaign.

Mia Rumsfield |

The thrush has currently an Int score of 6 and will get smarter the more levels i get.
Sidenote; i forgot to incorporate the +3 Diplomacy i get for having a thrush. :)

Mia Rumsfield |

I just looked it up an took a look at those 2 names of the cast.
That Nina sounds a good match to what i had in mind with Mia.

Mia Rumsfield |

I'm unsure how to see the connection between a sight impaired wielder of earth and a witch.

Mia Rumsfield |

I never watched that series, so forgive me for having to look that up.
Btw, you guys wouldn't mind reincarnating, as for example a kobold, would you?
I'm looking over the witch spells and reincarnate's on it.
Seems we roll a d100. If the die hits 100, the GM is the one (and he proclaims himself a sadist :D ) who get's the pick any race & gender.

Tallina Kapok |

Kobolds are extremely versatile, although that just punishes those who chose physical stats. Sadism and killing a concept are two different things. There are a few various other humanoid races such as the skinwalkers which punish you rp wise since the skinwalkers do not have a very good reputation.

Mia Rumsfield |

I've heard of an example somewhere.
Some showoff male character was brought back as a bosomed gnome female.

Luciana Moretti |

Funnily enough; the only evil character I've ever thought of had a reincarnation as a kobold in his backstory.
A mad druid reincarnated him for a reason that was either as bonkers as he was or just something he was too crazy to explain properly. So the former elderly human reincarnates as a young kobold.
Had the idea of him working with the party purely as a means to an end - either due to self-preservation (hard to do evil when the world's either dead or too much of a hellhole for you to enjoy it) or hoping to find pieces of his research he scattered about in his journeys to try and regain what power he once had. Original image was him doing something like revisiting a shady NPC the party had met earlier and revealing that the two had done some business in the psion's previous life. And that proving his identity to said NPC would leave him absolutely terrified and making it hard to tell if they would survive the meeting or not. Bit of a knife nut too - despite all the various powers he'd have, he feels the humble knife is often overlooked.
