Not kidding when I say spirits are lethal in 5e Shadowrun. We were dealing with a gang of cyber'd and drugged-up trolls who, between their natural toughness, their body armour and their cyberware, even the Armour Piercing rounds loaded into the Ares Alpha on our Rigger's drone were only doing stun damage.
Then this one guy tries to flank us the turn after I'd summoned a Force 4 Fire Spirit. It engulfed the guy and one-shotted him. The other three we killed on that run was one guy getting Chunky Salsa'd by a frag grenade in a hallway the size of a large broom cupboard and two that were knocked out by the drone's AP rounds and that we finished off before they could come to.

Ugg, I've had a nightmare time with internet and computers for the last month.
My desktop died New Year's day and I've dusted off my 6 year old laptop. Updating Ubuntu as we speak. Finally resolved the internet dispute with my landlord today, so I'm fully online.
Now I've got to spend the next week tracking down drivers, installing WINE and generally attempting to get all my Windows games to work in Linux.
Fortunately, I keep all my data backed up both in the cloud and on a couple of jump drives, with a spare copy of Herolab on my iPad.

I believe the term I "Geek the mage." But yeah, I hate pkaying shadowrun. Love the setting, hated third edition. Only had one fun session ever when I took the party on a pink mohawk trip for a job.

There was also Shadowrun Returns - single-player, turn-based RPG. The Dragonfall expansion (the Berlin campaign unlocked through the Kickstarter) got re-released not long ago as a standalone Director's Cut. They'll also be doing another Kickstarter later this month for a new one set in Hong Kong.
There was also Shadowrun Online on Kickstarter, but I haven't looked into that in ages.

On the map we should have Tobongo and Talli back 5 ft, Maxwell and Luci along that left flank, while Laris and Verim keep thier positions, Glaives out.. that way the enemy has to wade through many AoOs and everyone gets room to attack. Mia and Wendaug ofcourse should provide ranged support. Adjusted people to kinda reflect that move them howeer else you would though.

Verim Pharae |

Hrmmm I wonder whats going on with Maxwell again.. might be the school rush. Other than that The GM's also seemed quite busy.

Mia Rumsfield |

Max might be brooding some dark humor-ish comment on your enthusiasm. ;)
Maybe tobongo is standing on a cultist when we get there. You know, his root-foot on top of a head.

Verim Pharae |

Its fine I had a similar apartment based issue before all this, Had to pay 780 because roommate didnt pay her share in the span of 3 days recovering from it NOW. I do hope the GM is alright though, up and disappeared. I assume its beginning of the year stuff.. or Vacation.. or Internet cut out.

In the meantime; something different. For a while now, I've been keeping an eye out for a good reference picture for Luci's physique - visible muscles on a woman don't seem to show up as much in media as you'd think, only one that really comes to mind is Gabrielle Anwar in Burn Notice, and even then there were only a few times when you got a hint at the full extent of it - one scene in Season 2 where they crashed a local gun runner's pool party and one bit from the outtakes where she was flexing.
Of course; not everybody watches Burn Notice - it baffles me why you wouldn't watch a show that awesome - so I was hoping I'd stumble across something else. For a while, nothing. Then Privateer Press unwittingly gave me my answer: Zocha, the Tharn Bloodweaver pre-gen character from the Iron Kingdoms Unleashed Adventure Kit.
This pic shows some of it - just ignore the ritual scars and the claw-like nature of her fingers and feet, Tharn aren't human despite how much they look like it - but what I'm talking about is actually a lot clearer on the coverart for the Unleashed core book - the bottom one was the one used on the art in the end, if you were curious. I know it's a bit tricky to see Zocha there, between the resolution, how much space she takes up and that she's in one of the darker sections of it, but she's up the back on the left, winding up to punch a guy in his impressive beard.
You can see that she's actually a lot more ripped than that first picture suggests and that's sort of what Luci's like - you can't tell she's that strong until she's outright using it (or just flexing to show off for the ladies into that sort of thing :P ).
Another reason I wanted to share the coverart was to show one thing all bar brawls in Immoren need - a pygmy troll up the back getting absolutely pissed and not giving a damn about the fight. :D

Tallina Kapok |

Muscles on female characters? Hmm, maybe it's just me but have you seen This webcomic? You might be looking for someone (or at least one of) Harem's physique.

Verim Pharae |

Well the thing here is Str just represents force bt not necesarrily muscle or physique. For example Luci ha a 17 Str but she has only an above avg dex and Con. Meaning in my minds eye she has alot of red muscle but not much white. Meaning he has no real durability/stamina but nice force. By those measurements she would appear maybe on the littler side of a farm girl. In contrast we use Verim. He has a Str that is one less but higher Con and Dex by a good mark. As such I could see him as more built having a good chunk of red muscle for power but White muscle for longevity and endurance. So he would appear more built along the lines of say a lumberjack or body builder. IC that is represented well by his ability to effectively wield weapons meant for two hands.. in one.
Basically I think it is a formula based on you Str, Dex and Con more than any one stat. And that effects appearance.
On another note I forgot that the GM's comp got shot not long ago so that most likely is the reason for all of this. His old comp was... old.

Luciana Moretti |

I wasn't talking strength as in her actual stat. I just always pictured her as having more muscle mass than you'd think from looking at her.
Of course; as useful as they are in her day job, Luci would certainly be using them for... other purposes. :P

Found a sorta reference pic to Mia's appearance.
here
If starting about the childlike, without proper disguise this could be it.

Posting this in all of the Discussion pages I'm currently involved in.
Wondrous news! The court cases fell through, what with my Ex promptly realizing that suing someone for 300 dollars cost more than 300 dollars, despite me having explained that multiple times. I am officially out of that apartment and living in a dorm room again, which I'm very about. I kind of lost a few friends that were at the apartment, but only because I carefully told them that I wouldn't be coming anywhere near my ex, which they didn't really seem to understand as to why that involved them.
Anyways, yeah, new roommate, and a good semester in the future. With that, I have news that actually applies to you guys! I get to start posting consistently again, in part due to the fact that my anxiety about this whole situation is completely gone. I'm still a little bummed at the loss of friends, but I've got plenty of others and I've still got you guys, especially Leinathan, what with me and him being in games together for like a year and a half now.
So yeah, that said, the posting rate is going to skyrocket, and I seriously mean it this time. This had been going on for a long while, and it had been affecting my post rate but I originally didn't wanna mention it, until of course it started to have a realistic effect on me.
For the last few months I sincerely apologize, and I can only thank the guys in my own game for sticking it out with me. For the games that I'm currently in, I apologize, but I'm back for real and my posting rate is going to go up. Once again, I am really sorry.
So yeah. Back to business then :D

Maxwell Lionheart |

Hmm... It does seem as though the DM has been gone for quite some time. As a contingency, would you guys be interested in doing another game if you have the time? I've been looking to DM another game, because the last one I tried to kick off died in literally 4 days, but that's only because I had 2 players make 4 characters total, and they were crestfallen from the last game dying abruptly.

Mia Rumsfield |

I'm about to start playing in a game/module as it is, a fellow player's starting it probably tonight.
But i would like to see this not dying out.
Just out of curiosity, which one?

Verim Pharae |

II remember something about a vacation sometime coming around here as the GM hasnt posted anywhere. I' be fine with something.

Maxwell Lionheart |

Not exactly. I'd go into detail but it's a bit finnicky. Basically you guys would have heard about Castle Dracula appearing somewhere and go there for whatever reason, having heard stories about it. As for being "Belmonts" that's possible, but not Simon, as he's actually in the game.

Maxwell Lionheart |

Homebrew as well. There's only like 6 religions, and everyone is an "Advanced" human race with any class choice. Also seeing as you'll never leave the island where the castle is, you can just say "From the east" if you're asian. Basically vague references to where you'd been from.
I'm gonna go ahead and make the thing.

Verim Pharae |

Well I can't really say, Wendaug is her own character, what the GM has in mind may differ vastly and I tend to base it on interaction but If I rated it right now it'd be a very fish-outta-water relationship. Wendaug is trying to discover this world that a man from above is showing her, one who was an enemy but for some reason flirted with her earnestly while in combat and has shown a stubbornness to match. But she doesnt seem ready to accept what feelings she may or may not have, evident by her reactions to any kind/genuine compliments or loving actions to her. She leaped back in fear that time Verim was courting her.
There is alot to discover.

Mia Rumsfield |

It's an odd idea, to potentially dub her a 'sister in law', in a guardian related way.

Verim Pharae |

Well the entire Idea seems odd. Considering what she is racewise and even moreso how she looks. Most people would find her repulsive much like Maxwell reacted and I'm sure Wendaug was aware/understood the general mindset when it came to herself, especially with her lower Charisma.. Then all of a sudden this Lovable buffoon comes around and calls you pretty and flirts and.. means it.
And Verim's pace is somewhat intoxicating I guess. Wendaug as a character is wholly interesting as well. She couldn't help but want to tease or.. well I'm not fully sure she cares fr him or if she does, she doesnt want to admit it. Mostly with threats.. heh.

Mia Rumsfield |

Hm, which means she'd survive most odds, even radiation.
Well maybe not crushed by a falling boulder, but let's keep that image from Verim.

Verim Pharae |

roach-like... also lizardfolk-like as well as other things... doent make her an actual roach. Still yeah she has survivability.

Mia Rumsfield |

Tried/looked, but it didn't like me.
For combat maps i use pyromancers dungeon painter.
Example, a map i made for my homebrew.

Mia Rumsfield |

Site link.
Collection of some of my maps.
So far, i've made all encounter maps with it.
I used to use ditzie along with it for hosting, but i changed to google drawing to host them. Works much better.

Tallina Kapok |

Will have to take a look at that when I can get to a real computer.
