One of the hobgoblins realizes he is alone in his assault. He decides to join the others hiding behind tents.

Rhen presses on, moving to duck down behind the burning tent but not so close as to burn his precious beard.


Having no targets to fire at, Bulgard pushes through the muck and gets to dry land. There is no apparent movement from the hobgoblins that retreated behind tents.

Grokar lumbers through the camp trying to get snagged upnon any tent poles and gets ready for anything that may attack them readied action to swing if any enemy gets within 15 feet. He peers into the big tent and takes a swingif there is anything there. [ooc]Readied action if he doesn't see anything.

As Grokar peers into the tent, he is greeted with an arrow and two javelins. He sees two hobgoblin warriors and a rider on a large toad holding the bow that fired at him. Grokar swings at the nearest enemy and Becky does what she does best. The hobgoblin is obliterated.

One of the hobgoblins behind the tent Rhen is at comes around and swings his longsword at the dwarf. The other sneaks around the opposite side of the tent and swings his longsword.

Seeing Grokar recoil from attacks from within the tent, Zevon's hand instinctively moves to a vial of alchemist's fire. Remembering his companion's timidness around flame, he stops short. Scanning the battlefield for options, he sees Rhen in danger of being overwhelmed.

Zevon charges forward, the now familiar battle cry beginning to crystallize in his vocal chords. He chokes the spell back, realizing that there is no way to avoid hitting his friend (knowing he would never hear the end of it). He sends his whip towards Red's feet in an attempt to pull him to the ground.

Trip vs CMB: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22


Zevon brings the hobgoblin to the ground. Seeing the elf like creature approaching, the hobgoblin in yellow throws a javelin at Zevon.

Meanwhile, in the tent, Grokar has two more of his own to deal with. The hobgoblin warrior throws another javelin at him. The rider fires off another arrow.

Grokar's attack of opportunity kills the hobgoblin warrior. He misses the rider twice. Rhen kills the prone hobgoblin. prone is -4 to AC in melee, not a denial of dex. SA not necessary anyway.

Zevon begins towards the large tent, but as the hobgoblin taunts Bulgard it draws his attention.

The target is dazed for 1 round and takes 1d6 points of sonic damage per two caster levels (maximum 5d6). A successful save negates the daze effect and halves the damage.

The hobgoblin seems to shrug off that attack for the most part. His laughter does not continue.

Grokar notices a weapons rack containing 10 cold iron longswords and 5 suits of studded leather. In addition, a large wooden chest sits in the center of this mustering tent. There are two large tables with chairs surrounding them. Dirty dishes and bones litter the tables.

"Let me know if you want me to got off it's little head" He smiles and wipes away a bit of the rider that is stuck to his brow.

Nice intimidation to end combat, a true bard. I know there is a feat for adding strength to intimidate, but I wish they would let you choose between STR and CHA instead. 2nd Edition perhaps?

Zevon leans slightly to the side, allowing a clearer view of the bloodthirsty half-orc.


"Wingclippah do hire militia. He pays us good. He say cut down all trees and burn them. Let no one in and kill all feys. I never see him, just hear of him. They says he be best fighter ever. He stays there they tells me. I go now. Okay?" A finger points north. You can see portions of a structure through the smoke. It appears to be four or five stories. It is not that far away.

Zevon emerges from the tent and hands the strength potions to his three companions.

Quite the haul in there. It should serve as quite the reward for our efforts. Also I ran across this ring. It's enchantment lends aid when in the water, for swimming and such. Is anyone particularly interested? As far as this WingClipper is concerned, a rest here may be waranted. It would allow me the opportunity to recover a bit. I should be ready just before dusk. However, I can push on if needed.

Bulgard looks to the structure in the distance and then turns his head toward the smoldering tents, and notes the pillow of smoke rising from the heap.

I think you're right, M-master dwarf. WingClipper will be coming here to scout any minute. Which b-begs the question, should we lay a trap for them here, or lay seige to their fortress?
