"Ahh how I do love the rain, " Grokar says throwing his head back allowing the rain to cascade over his face.
From his pack he pulls out a small box turtle with hard ridges along its dark green shell and sets him on his shoulder. Using the Grokar's backpack as a place to rest the turtle rides along with Grokar through the storm mimicking the half orc by gaping at the sky and letting out a soft "skree"
"This is Crush, my turtle. Say hi Crush."
"Scree"

Zevon Vierding |

Between he and Bulgard... hmmm Zevon smiles and shakes his head,
Looking towards Grokar.
Impressive companion. You will have to ask Bulgard about his fox when we make camp.
As the cart comes into view Zevon stops.
I wonder if that belongs to our mysterious travelers. If so, how is that it is so consumed by nature?

Grokar |

"That's a big bush" Grokar grumbles heeding Bulgards command to stop. For a moment. And looks around. "can't see, too far" The half orc pushes past the ranger and his grip tightens around his Becky.
Grokar moves up 10 feet in front of Bulgard, looking around for signs of life before turning to the others. "Coming?"

You suspect this is the work of a sinister fey called splinterwaif. They have the ability to turn human corpses into thorny bushes for later consumption. They are vulnerable to silver. They are masters of stealth and camouflage. They are very fast and can cause a thorny branch to grow out of any nonmagical wooden surface to aid them in battle. They have ranged and melee attacks.
Grokars sees nothing more than the cart, bushes and trees. No apparent enemy for Becky at this time.

Bulgard Merkenkin |

Bulgard signals for the others to stay out as he scouts ahead quietly.
He sneaks in for a closer look (30 ft) using the trees as cover.

Zevon calls to the scouts in an urgent whisper.
Careful. It seems Rhen was correct, this is fey work. The splinterwaif is a particularly dangerous creature. That brush may very well be the remains of those we pursue. They are likely hiding in wait. Silver is said to be anathema to them. While I have none, I have this.
Zevon pats a flask of alchemist fire on his belt and uncoils his whip.
With luck we may be able to communicate with them.

A large Grokar turns around with a huge grin "Maybe we find fey?" he says in a menacingly optimistic tone.

Bulgard Merkenkin |

Bulgard holds fast after hearing Z's whisper.
He seems to be whispering to himself. A figure emerges from within his pack. A small fox comes out. Bulgard bids the fox to scour the area.
Seek (DC 15): The animal moves into an area and looks around for anything that is obviously alive or animate.

Grokar |

Grokar had been known to charge headlong into battle but Shadir, the village shaman taught him to control his anger and that sometimes the best offense is strong defense. That was when he began wearing heavier armor and no longer charged headlong into the brush chasing unseen foes. Unless someone insults his mother that is.
Clunk clunk Grokar takes two more steps forward making sure not to leave too much distance between himself and his two new companions behind him.
5 more feet forward, Grokar and I are waiting to see what Bulgard finds. If either of the other two move to investigate Grokar will go with

Seeing Gokar's transformation, Zevon nods his head in appreciation.
Very impressive!
Zevon move up behind the giant half-orc and calls down the trail.
Hello? Has there been an accident?

I don't know what the fox can do, maybe yip or growl?
