Can you take 10 on a knowledge check?
I don't think you're allowed to do that--you'd need to be a 5th-level bard to do so.
There is no rule that says you can't take 10 on Knowledge checks. Loremaster just lets you take them even if you're in combat. James Jacobs says this.

Just to give everyone a heads-up, I'll be leaving on a trip to Ireland with my family to celebrate my brother's graduation this Saturday (the day after my birthday, if you can believe it) and so my posting next week may be a bit spotty. I think the commentary is great - I'm always glad to see that there's new posts in a game, and anything that keeps up the enthusiasm over the long haul of an AP, especially in PbP, is a good thing!
