Kindo almost let out a very content sigh as the cold began to break as he almost sunk into the long fur. Yes. This is much better than trying to walk on his own. He almost chuckled as a thought crossed his mind. But the cold reminded him this was not the time or place
"Much thanks friend... i am deeply sorry that i am a burden at this time. I promise i will make it up to the pack as soon as i am able... and as soon as i can feel the rest of my extremities"

I will assume you took Hispo Sylas as it is a more powerful version of Lupus and would more readily allow for such a "wolfy back" ride.
The pack now in Lupus ad Hispo except for Kindo works their way running and leaping through the hard driving snow ever north. Erik trails the others still disoriented by the lack of street signs it seems.
The feel of the wind upon your fur and the smell of the wilderness fills your nostrils with a sensation that brings you as close to Gaia as any of you have ever felt...

Howls-at-dawn |

have we truely fallen so far that we need to send those who might only be kindred into battle?"
Howls-at-dawn pauses on a slight rise sniffing the air, then howling as he detects something else in the air.

As one the group pauses, though not Garou for as long as many of their Elders they sense something on the wind. Suddenly bursting through the driven snow are several figures, Garou!
All in Lupus six in total, by their marking they are of the Wendigo Tribe. One shifts into Crinos form and begins to speak, he is the same one that spit at Gabriel as you were all forced from the Caern, "At last we have found you curs. While the Elders may believe that you should be set free here to die in the wilderness I trust not even the harshest weather to slay the lowliest of Garou. So have I come forth to give you all a good death a better one that any of you deserve!"
Does anyone wish to try and reason with him?

"Perhaps in the days of yore Rites to be respected, this is an Age of War, the last war! We must be vigilant. My Elders see you as no threat but I, IceDagger know better! Only shame is in not killing you sooner!"

To shift from Lupus to Crinos requires 4 successes, 1 to initiative change and 1 for each form you move through to reach that form. Lupus, Homid, Glabro, Crinos. With two successes you will end up in Homid. You MAY elect to spend a Rage point to shapeshift instantaneously! Let me know if you elect to do so.

Storyteller Phoenix |

[dice=primal urge +stamina diff6]6d10+3d10
Howls-at-dawn will follow Erik's lead and shift.
Howls, you achieved three successes so you would end up in Glabro, let me know if that is satisfactory or if you want to spend Rage as well to move fully into Crinos.

Icedagger's claws pierce Kindo's frozen skin, he screams in pain as the Crinos rakes his flesh. Kindo take 4 Aggravated Damage!
The Lupus converge on Gabriel but only the first manages to draw any blood from Gabriel with its claws. The mark is but a scratch as Gabriel manages to roll away from both attackers. Gabriel zero damage.
Erik's foe catches him midshift, the claws scraping his mid-section. Erik Take 4 non-aggravated damage.
Guides foe slams into him at high speed and is thrown by the powerful Red Talon. Guides zero damage.
Howls also in mid-change manages to duck the wolf lunging at him. Howls zero damage.
Initiative - Round 1
Gabriel, Guides, Howls & Kindo - GO!
Marginal vs. Minimal vs. Complete Success for Combat. I have traditionally ruled as follows for combat: Zero Successes a miss. 1 Success contact is made but no damage is dealt to the foe. 2 Successes Marginal strike the strike deals half damage. 3 Successes the strike is Complete full damage is dealt. Any successes above 3 add an extra damage die to the damage pool. Negative Successes are Botches and hopefully will be avoided! I want to clarify this as this is the first combat.

Kindo |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |

Kindo screams in pain as blood spatters all over the snow. Making large red smears across the formally white covers. He stumbles back a bit, his eyes wide with pain, then they narrow. That was a mistake. A very BIG mistake. He didnt want to have them know this quickly. That wasnt the plan. But now. Now he has to. Gaia protect him... spend a rage
His body begins to warp, bulge and grow. His skin turns leathery. His size doubles then tripples, his back seems to form a hump before a massive shell bursts forth and covers his entire back. His hands twist and warps till vicioys claws are revealed. His face twists more and a a sharp beak like face replaced that of a human. Now. It was Kindo who was towering over the Garou
"Lets dance little puppy" he grins as his shifts his stance and raises his claws

Damage, including the +1 should be rolled. Yes, in 2ed 10's are re-rolled, provided you have a specialty i.e. 4 or higher in the relevant Attribute or Ability. OR. We can use the 20th Anniversary rules and have 10's count twice to save the extra rolling administration, I'll let the PCs decide that. Combat adjudication coming right up.

Note, that utilizing Rage to change forms OR changing to your natural" form, takes not time and is a "free action". Erik, you will have an action still, this round so go ahead and take two actions at the beginning of Round 2. Kindo, let's assume that you are trying to intimidate Icedagger this round - Manipulation + INtimidation 2d10 ⇒ (8, 4) = 12.
Kindo's fearsome transformation gives the Wendigo pause but it is short lived as the pack has had enough humiliation, they shift shape and attack!
The wounds on Kindo heal from the invisible touch of Sylas.
Howls tries to pull back but pulls back a bit too far and his strike only nicks the back of the leg of his opponent.
Guides bites at his Garou foe - Bonus Attack Success 1d10 ⇒ 10 - 1d10 ⇒ 7. Damage 10d10 ⇒ (10, 6, 5, 5, 10, 4, 9, 9, 5, 1) = 64
Icedagger Soak 7d10 ⇒ (8, 3, 2, 3, 9, 6, 9) = 40
Guides bit sinks into the flank of his foe who howls in pain, he is injured but not out of the fight by a long shot.
Icedagger is not threatened by Kindo, "I'll make you stew little skinchanger!" He growls. At that moment, Gabriel lunges at him but Icedagger rolls with the blow and stands up, unharmed. "No honor eh pups? I'll show you honor!"

how do you calculate soak?
-Posted with Wayfinder
Base Stamina + Stamina adjusted by Form + Miscellaneous Bonus. I may have overstated your soak by 1 looking back at it now. I will handle that for the PC's to keep things moving forward. If I need to wait for PC's to do that Combat will bog down too much. Thus the damage I have listed is the damage you took after enemy attacks, damage ad your soak rolls.
You still act this round! All attack rolls this round for you are at a -1 Diff. if you attack Icedagger because he is prone.
