@Thud'dr: The battle between Ogryn and Ork is so simplistic and brutal, one cannot but flinch. Each combatant is simply hacking away without so much as considering defense as an option. Thud'drs latest bash drives the Ork to one knee, clearly bringing the creatures toughness close to the breaking point. Another hit like that, and the creature will surely not get up again! (unlucky RF roll though)
@Simmins: Readjusting your aim, you follow your first salvo with another one. This one being even more accurate than the first one! The strange green connection between your target and Krish is flickering like a horribly maintained holoscreen. It is solid and glowing at first, then fades into nothingness before shortly coming back before finally fizzling out. As the recoil is growing too much again and you stop, the Ork is in the process of falling to the ground face first. With a dull *clunk* it crashes to the ground bleeding from ... pretty much everywhere.
@Krish: As the salvo of the heavy weapon trooper rips the Fancy-Ork to shreds, you feel multiple sharp stabs of psychic energy trying to overwhelm your mental defenses. The first attack is too surprising to withstand and you wince as immaterial, glowing, green daggers of pure pain pierce your chest - just as the first bullet pierces the Orks flesh (take 10 damage, reduced by your WP-B). You can block the second attack but the third is once again too powerful (another 7, reduced by WP-B). After that one, your defenses are up and holding and your opponent is getting weaker until the unholy connection is finally disconnected as the enemy goes down.

Krish gasps in pain as two pulses of green something lance into him. His mind, however, has been honed and tempered by the Emperor of Mankind. Gritting his teeth and marshalling his mental defenses, Krish is able to fend off further damage, and remains conscious through the haze of pain and psycho-feedback that wracks his body.

7 damage suffered.

After the psychic assault is over, Krish looks over at Simmins and nods with a satisified, though pained, expression.

Pinning (Wp - 10): 1d100 ⇒ 41
Going nowhere...

The battlefield was quickly slipping out of control, more chaotic than anything they had fought before during this ill fated mission.
The sudden appearance of darkness, even if said darkness dissipated almost immediately was not welcome, nor was the consequence of more fire being blindly directed towards the the makeshift barrier.

Snarling angrily, Cormaeg popped up to take a quick potshot at one of the shooting orks.

Attack: 1d100 ⇒ 98

Unfortunately, instead of the loud whine and the following beam of death, the laspistol splutters pathetically and refuses to fire.
Cormaeg ducks down behind cover again and whacks the gun against the floor with a snarl.
Somehow the activation rune lights up again, proving once again hist how sharp the emperors humour can be.

Emperor damn it all, that mortar would have been useful now, or a las cannon...or the heavy bolter the survivors have downstairs...
Or if we're listing impossible things that could be helpful, how about a company of storm troopers, and no time limit?

@Leni: Expertly stops the bleeding cut on Simmins brow. (added a mention to the Skill Remark page about stop bleeding duration. Due to high DoS, you are done with the action at the end of the round)
@Cormaeg: Having some time to access the situation, while ducking low behind the slowly but steadily disintegrating desk, you notice that Pvt. Cutler is not shooting at anything in the room but is looking down the corridor for some reason.
@NPC, door: Is turning out of sight and fires at something out of sight, in the corridor, shouting something that is drowned out by the echoing automatic gunfire all around.
@NPC, mid-room: Scrambling for cover without daring to rise his head during the withering firestorm coming from above. He is bleeding from a leg wound as it seems.
@NPCs, desk: The two militiamen continue to pour fire at the shoota-boys at second level. Right-guy is having visible trouble with his battered gun finally failing him. Left-guy is scoring three neat hits across the arms of one of the shoota-boys actually managing to make the Ork loose its grip on the gun, which falls over the balcony and onto floor one with a dull metal *clunk*. Blue-Overall, seeing the coming of the first nob shouts something and waves towards his two fellows, but they do not seem to notice him.
@Choppa-Boyz: The friendly-fire incident actually gets back up and attempts a swing against @Cormaeg! The surprising attack catches Cormaeg totally off-guard and hit the Sergeant even as the Ork drops dead, its last attack delivered. (take 9R, Pen:2) Meanwhile, the primitive clubbing contest between Ork and @Thud'dr continues. The Ork lands another two horrible hits against the Ogryn. (10 & 14 R, Pen:2, should you take crit damage, take one more subject to soak)
@Shoota-Orks: With a ridiculous predictability, the disarmed Ork is roaring ("WAAAAGH!") and makes towards the closest stair leading downwards. The sole remaining gunner-boy is annoyed by the lack of easy targets and starts blazing away against the turned desk sheltering Thud'dr. The exploding projectiles blast three holes into the desk but do no more harm beyond that. @Cormaeg&Krish: Not being shot at is nice. WP+30 to end pinning.
@Briz'Lok: The Nob fires his long barreled, glowing gun at the desk providing cover for the two militiamen. An incandescent beam of green light erupts from the gun with a sharp *crack* and annihilates the desk and both men behind within the blink of an eye.
@Biz'Zok: Another nob shoulders past the first and reaches the level of the shoota-boyz, a heavy gun with three short barrels hefted like a child's toy.

The surprise attack might have got through Cormaegs guard, but the wound is superficial at worst, barely making it through the storm trooper armour and the Sergeants natural ornery toughness.

Noticing that Private Cutler seems otherwise occupied rather than fighting the emperors enemies, Cormaeg calls out.

For some reason I thought fixing up Simmins was this rounds' action. Oh well better late than never

Having done the medic work available to her Leni gets back to soldiering. That is she does what she intended before: She walks over to the fancy Ork and sticks her lasgun into its ugly maw. "No matter how hard you frakkers are, you're not getting up without a head"
And then pulls the trigger

Raw says hits against totally helpless targets automatically succeed and roll damage twice and add them

Lasbolt to the back of the mouth: 1d10 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10
Lasbolt to the back of the mouth: 1d10 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12
22 Damage pen2 to the inside of the head

@Leni: There is no kill like overkill. Even without medical training, you would have been able to tell that this one will not be getting back up. Something to do with the complete lack of the rearward part of a head or something like that. What is left of the head is burning for good measure.
@Simmins: Your long left-right sweep reaps a fat bounty. Despite a lot of hits impacting against the balcony, yours and Corts guiding hands manage to guide five rounds into Xeno flesh. Considering that we are waiting for Krish, you can roll damage yourself. Going from left-to-right: 2 hits (left & right arm), 1 hit (head), 2 hits (leg&head)

Leni Tivnan Medic BS32 WS25 S29 A28 T25 I63 Will32 Fel30 Per26 Hp15/15 Fate2/2+1 Ins0 Cor7 30/30 4spare

Pretty sure they teach overkill against Orks and her lasgun is not going to be the difference against those orks anyway, so lets chalk that up to excessive hate of stuff getting in her way when getting to her patients

@Simmins: The leftmost gunner, barely recovering from Krishs earlier psychic assault finds his arms getting shot-through and his scrap-gun slipping through his bloody hands. It ducks low - whether impressed from the salvo or in search for its gun is not clear. The middle gunner finds himself missing the better part of its head after the salvo and collapses three seconds later. The rightmost one, is hit twice as well, blood sprouts from a horible head wound and it goes down hard, crashing down several stairs before *splatt*ing to the floor. It does not get up.
@Door NPCs: Continue their labour to close the door. While Lucky is nearly done with closing his side of the double-door, the militiamen slips in a pool of blood and crashes down to the ground. He immediatly scrabbles back up but looses precious seconds doing so!
@Blue-Overall: Screams incoherently at the casually closing Nobz while rising from behind his cover and lets loose with his combat shotgun. His aim is little better than that of an Ork at this point though. One of the Nobz actually rolls out of the way and takes cover behind a desk, thus vanishing from your field of view.

Simmins nods at Cord and, even as the Stubber stops spinning the two have it packed up and run towards the wall.

Two acts go to a Half Act each for Cort and Simmins, and then a Half Act to move to the wall

@Leni: You're up.
@Simmins: Half move will not bring you across the entire room. But you can make it to the next row of desks. Either the one firectly in front of your current position or either of the right/left one.

Let's go right to spread out a bit

Sorry, notebook keyboard died so my internet free-time is down a wee bit

Int +10 vs 68: 1d100 ⇒ 30
Instead of shouting, like Sarge, Leni taps her Combead
"Aye Sarge. But then the Frakker will jump down into us so we should prepare something to greet it"

Leni herself does not go all the way over there and instead does her best floor impression. Aided by the camo cloak
Stealth vs 29(Agi)+20(Camo Cloak): 1d100 ⇒ 66 2 DoF, that might just be enought against ork perception. And -20 for anyone targeting her in a ranged attack

Thud roars in frustration on the left flank. You get the feeling that anything coming down to meet you is going to have a very bad day.

@Door NPCs: Lucky unplugs another grenadde from his belt, yells "Fire in the hole!" and throws it out into the corridor, before shouting at the militiaman: "Hurry up, by the Emprah, they're nearly in!" The Militiaman is clearly working hard, yanking on the door with both feet pressed against the ground for that extra bit of pull. Yet, a few moments before it closes, it suddenly stops... as if something is pulling from the outside!
@Thud'dr: In your (righteous) anger, you put in way more strenght than would be strictly necesary, causing the grenade to bounce and scitter far further than intended, coming to rest in the far left wall of the second level.
@Biz'Zok: Full-Dakka Nob continues his slow trod, training the bucking and spitting gun ever closer towards the door. Only a few seconds remain, before the Militiaman and Lucky are cut to bloody pieces by the buklletstorm!
@Briz'Lok: A high-pitched whining sound makes it very clear, that the other Nob also resurfaced and is aiming at ... somewhere. He is out of sight of anyone but Leni though.
@Bigbull: ???

Leni:

The second Nob with the energy weapon has taken a stand behind the middle-desk of the second level, training its eerily glowing gun at the only targets left in playin sight: the two soldiers trying desperatley to close the door.
What is possibly even more frightening is the fact that the Boss at the highest level is getting up from the chair he was sitting in. Without a hurry he picks up a gun that would not look out of place as the main gun of a battletank and looks down the battlefield below with a hatefilled red gaze.

GM-Dice:

Scatter Dir/Dist: 1d8 + 1d5 + 5 ⇒ (3) + (5) + 5 = 13
Militia Strength: 1d100 ⇒ 63
Ork Nade: Dud?: 1d4 ⇒ 2
Ork nade: Blast, Shrapnel, Gas: 1d2 + 1d2 + 1d2 ⇒ (1) + (1) + (2) = 4 >> Gas it is
Break Pinning: Gunner, Briz'Lok: 2d100 ⇒ (68, 26) = 94

Squad up!
Nothing too bad happened this round.

Leni connects the mental dots of Ork weapon to target voxes: "LUCKY! SHOVE MATE AND DODGE!"

Looking at that weird contraption of a weapon she also decides - hey, wouldn't it be funny if those out of control energies got disrupted by a lasgun bolt?
So she aims for the gun and gets ready to put a lasgun into any part that glows the hardest when the ork pulls the trigger.

Thud wastes no more time and charges up the stairs at the ork bravely hiding behind the banister!

Simmins is caught between running into the relative safety underneath the balcony but is also painfully aware that he's running towards orcs which feels just wrong. The commotion behind him forces his decision. There was no safety there if they were going to get jumped from behind. He gets Cort to set up the Stubber facing towards the door.

He delays his own action and shouts at Leni, Lucky, and the last guard. Get out of my way I've got the door covered!

Cort spends full action setting up Stubber towards the back door. Simmins Delay action so friendlies get out of the way and the door opens. Suppressive fire as soon as that happens
