Leni has Evil(+30) fear meh! muhaha x3
On the note of modifiers: the way I read it only the TOTAL modifier is capped at +/-60, so +65-50 would make +15, not +10
Doesn't change my rolls but probably interesting for the future =3
And using the fp for the roll of course - nothing better than more wounds for the squad while out in the mud =3
11 vs 73 makes 7DoS+5IntB = 12 wounds returned for Thudd
2DoS+5IntB = 7 wounds returned for Monia
78 vs 103 makes 3 DoS, Notch will be healthy in 4 days =3

To clear things: The tunnel linking the trenches is all but collapsed during artillery bombardment. No way through for Orks or you. The street splitting the trench (running overhead the tunnel) is blocked by the two burned-out Ork trukks.
The razor wire (30m) out towards the east, is blown up in several places by artillery and ork grenades.
Count of 17 seems legit.
Cmd-Keen Medic |
Well, being sanctioned means you went to Terra for the soul binding - not the
direct one the astropathes get which sears out their eyes but being so close to
the shining beacon which is the emperor at the base of the astronomican probably
flashed you for long enough to develop the enhanced hearing blind people get?
Honestly no idea actually but that sounds... kinda plausible? x3
Cmd-Keen Medic |
I'm fine either way - RP is fun but it might be just a little unfair since most of the party is either on guard positions or 'forced' asleep so they can't participate much
Leni will call in to command on the beginning and end of her shift.
Also she'll kick Simmins and 1 of the south guys awake to join her at 2nd shift(that's 4 ppl instead of 3 but she can do that because no one challenged her to command yet xP) the shift itself is spent building firing positions on the ledge looking towards the southern trench and the razor wire so everyone has cover if/when we're attacked - not just the guards in the xeno vehicle(which I acutally never intended to be used, but I'm not compaining, more cover)
If Phix speaks up about Doombringer then she'll get permission to work on it as soon as she finished mining, leaving the trench fixing to her henchmen(and the servitor?) and she's specifically told to try to get enough rest to be rested at the 3rd shift but judge herself if a little more work will get the turret back up even if she is not rested
3rd Shift is Phix, Monia and another guy from the south group(no I'm not counting the guy who's with Monia to shoot her in an emergency as a person here =P)

@Thud'dr: On a related note: That major success of Leni was enough to cure your deafness as well. Usually I would have required at least one successful extended care action to heal that, but a 5+ DoS First Aid will certainly have taken care of that as well. Most sounds are still awkwardly silent, but loud talking, weapon fire, etc. make it through already and it's getting better with every passing hour (Per -10 on hearing tests for four more hours, then it's back to normal)
The Ghost of War |
Not your problem though - Paizo was down / spotty the last few days.
Take your time - good to know your still with us though :-)
If you don't want to play out a party-conflict atm - just ignore that plot hook. I will drop those off from time to time if I feel like one of your characters may have some clash of interests that may prove as a nice RP opportunity.
Essentially you can do lots of things atm - talking, repairing Doombringer/Flamer-Guys-Weapon, preparing cover at the new position, mining the s%&! out of your position with 12 packs of anti-person mines, ...
Essentially lots of tech-use rolls ... just waiting for you to toss! =)
On a totally not related note: That bad-language-filter really hates our campaign - haha. It certainly cannot be the reason for paizo's servo to go down lately, can it ...? ;-))
Cmd-Keen Medic |
All my filtered stuff is totally intentional. The girl got a caring heart but a gruff demeanor and a foul mouth to cover it up =P
Totally possible that the paizo board is faint of cpu and crashed because of it tho xP
Monia |
I dont edit the swearing at all unless theres in-universe equivalents that I know of sorta like feth.
As for progressing or not, I'm cool with whatevs! More RP gets me thinking on Monia and how to develop her and her place in the squad, moving on means we get a stepmcloser to the s@*& hitting the fan both of which are fun.
Choon the Expendable |
Speaking of XP, what will xp gain look like in this game? Do we get it after we're rotated off and spend it during a kind of down time?
Choon the Expendable |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |
Razor Sharp: when you roll 3+ DoS, double your penetration...
O_O That's 18 pen. And you roll thrice and keep the best 2. I really want one, papa GM...
Choon the Expendable |
Thought: how much would you charge me to wield an eviscerater one handed (because Ogryn) and carry a shield made out of vehicle armor plating in the other (because of the huge target that would make me).
Choon the Expendable |
I want a Stalker boltgun too. It's the sniper variant, imagine what a team we'd make Thud!
Oh I am, I just need to know how much XP mr GM wants to make it happen. :D
Choon the Expendable |
But he may want me to go away for a while before that level of awesome happens. We are supposed to be dirty grunts right now, after all.
Cmd-Keen Medic |
Well, we can always go and try to find new weapons in the grab mission gear
phase. Rare gear just makes the roll effing hard.
A stalker bolt gun is actually not even listed in the core book, so you might be
out of luck there since that pattern might be space marine only - can't have the
super human snipers fire with filthy las weapons after all. Anyway I'll try to
look for a long las of my own the next time we get a chance - if you change
weapons I'd be more than happy to inherit yours ; )
An eviscerator is listed as 15kg, while a good 'ol chain sword is 6kg.
Chain swords can be wielded in a single hand by a normal person with SB3 TB3 ->
36Kg max carry weight. You have SB8 TB8 -> 675kg max carry weight.
So since you can carry almost 20 times what a normal person can and the
eviscerator is only a bit under 3x the weight of a chain sword it probably
wouldn't be very hard to argue you can wield that one handed. and with 675kg max
carry weight you can probably fit your shield in there somewhere.
honestly you'll probably get more rp problems for doing that while still in the
guard - eviscerators are usualy only given to priests and tech priests just
might not like you walking around with something that belongs on a tank
somewhere =3
The Ghost of War |
@XP: Be patient, they're close ;-) It will be given in-between mission, you're characters need a bit down-time to apply any changes.
@Eviscerator: Probably RP problems. But within one-handed region for a Ogryn I guess. But hard to get as a usual weapon as a non-priest. Maybe someday you will meet a guy that knows a guy that can get you ... A slightly used one.
Monia |
Getting Thud a Shield Shouldnt be too hard since Bullgryns exist.
Now, the Eviscerator, being typically a Space Marine, Sororitas or Ministorum Weapon, might be trickier. BUT, If the priest meets an, oh-so morally devastating and untimely demise, then an Ogryn going around killing foul Xenos and Heretics in the name of the Emperor and carrying out the Priests mission shouldnt be too hard to convince someone of....right? :p
Choon the Expendable |
My mind is currently to busy imagining Thud trying to convert a settlement or give a rousing speech to consider his death. I might RP him off the front line and send him to Priest School.

I am Thid'dr and I endorse this message. :)
Choon the Expendable |
However, along with all this MOR Powah! bellyaching I well say in all honesty that I don't mind being one of The Many, The Expendable and I am enjoying this game as it is currently progressing.
The Ghost of War |
@Thud'dr: This is such an awesome idea, we certainly will make this work. There is multiclassing in this system, every time you reach a certain XP milestone you can change into another class. But you certainly will need the Bone'ead upgrades beforehand to be able to to take the teachings of another class. But ... An Ogryn Priest wielding an OGRYN-SIZED Eviscerator chanting hymns to the Emperor is just awesome as hell. The thing about a shield is easy. You can take the backdoor of a chimera and declare it as a shield for my purpose...
