Some background so that the story makes some sense. Huur and Graxeal were partners until very recently. When Huur tried to kill Grax and steal the Codex, he split the ogre nearly in half and took the book. Badly wounded but not slain, Grax came back for revenge. He climbed up the wall of the tower to this room which he apparently thought was empty. Its current occupants finished the job that Huur apparently did not.
AHHHHH I get it now. I thought we were at the top of the tower. Now we have to face the creature who killed off a half ogre...yikes!
