We're fighting him. That's decided. Albina just needed to get the healing started before throwing something damaging, since it's a slow heal over time dealy.
The plan wasn't to just run past him and leave an enemy behind us, it was to convince him that we were the good guys, and that the *next people who show up* are the bad guys, so he ends up murdering the hell out of either A) actual good guys, or B) rival bad-guys, or C) most hilarious of all, another group sent by the Cardinal (or that person sent to 'help' us that we left back in town).
And, if he figured it out while we are in the horn, if we came back out successful (and likely won't come back out at all, if not successful...), we'd have a disease daemon to help us kill it.
But that's all moot. We're fighting it now, and any resources we expend here will not be available for the challenges that await us in the horn.
Jethryk Devarre |
I have no intention of disappearing; realistically, I wanted to be on the same side of the treant as Mi'Dre, so that more than one person was enabling the flank from that side...
...I just thought that Jethryk would have a grumble first about the lack of finesse ;-)
Albina Mariposa |
Heh, alrighty, just getting a little worried with both Albina and Jethryk indicating that they were making a break for the entrance. Mi'Dre's pretty tough, especially with DR5/good, but this thing is a significant challenge for our level.
No worries, Albina is not going into melee, so she's just looking for a good place to stand as she throws fire and / or healing.
I'm pretty sure that contract we signed prohibits her from abandoning everyone to their deaths. :)
(And, even if it didn't, she's too arrogant to think of that!)
Shendalyn Shawn |
Well, the nice thing about removing the doorman means we can hang out here and rest if need be before venturing inside. And hey maybe shendalyn is about to get squished and everyone can celebrate. :D
Cruxcarr Felmongere |
This big fecker has highlighted some poor spell picks by me - saw Crux very much as a mage who liked to feel his prey fall under his might and have picked spells to suit... (also in keeping with the butcher of Gluttony theme)
Perhaps some support style magicks might have been a more prudent choice...
Sholano |
Ew, the 24 didn't hit? I don't think I'm gonna be an awful lot of use here (for what little remains). Of course, I am trying to stab a tree with a rapier, so that pretty much makes sense, magical or not.

1 person marked this as a favorite. |
A couple of beauty shots of what arrived in the mail today :)
Kaladrax vs PF pre-paint dragons
Almost all good, they missed one add on and one of the wee figs is missing a wing, but no biggie. Detail on the figures is pretty darn good considering the material and the bigger figs are a hell of a lot easier to handle than metals.
DM - Voice of the Voiceless |
Indeed - the PF Red is in the picture (nestled under Kaladrax's left wing) and the Frost Wyrm is just in front of him. Rest of my add-ons were the full suite of giants really. Little bit daunting looking at the huge pile of paint bottles... especially given my crappy skills.
Still baffles me that Kaladrax was a $10 add-on...
Sholano |
Whoop, sorry, missed the notification of more posts somehow. Back into the thick of it.
TarkXT |
Eh, just giving him a moment to shine since Shendalyn kind of crapped on the last one.
It's easier for evil to deal with evil than evil to try and fool good when good has high wisdom modifiers and ranks in sense motive. Lots of ranks. Sholano can only BS so much when he's surrounded by monsters and madmen. Which has a lot to do with Shendalyns sudden bloodthirst actually...
Albina Mariposa |
I'm a thinkin' we need to go in and force regime change and 'bring democracy' to these poor oppressed boggards by murdering the heck out of Slays-Nine-Men and elevating Hears-The-Father to our equally oppressive puppet ruler.
Viva la Resistance! Long live the freedom fighters!
Or, yanno, whatever gets us closer to our objectives. :)
Sholano |
Sholano's attempting to pass on a not-very-secret message to the rest of the crew that it's time to cut this guy's throat, while he readies a tanglefoot bag for throwing.
It's time for that murderin' you folks like so much. Let's get to it.
Shendalyn Shawn |
Yeah. I'm still not sure how he got bonuses that high :p
Lessee.
BAB 5 + 1 Weapon Foc. + 5 Str +1 weapon = 12 Attack. Furious focus means he doesn't take penalties on P. Attack on his first attakc of the round (love that feat).
Damage is +10 Str when charging or attacking once + 2 Weapon Spec +6 Power Attack +1 against living targets (magic item?) = +18
Seems legit. Also very painful. Someone remind shendalyn not to piss him off while in charge range.
Jethryk Devarre |
Set can vouch for the fact that I make PCs which hit hard ;-)
The break-down of Jethryk's damage output is fairly simple:
2d6 + 10 (Overhand Chop adds Str x2) + 6 (Two-handed PA; penalty negated by Furious Focus) + 2 (Weapon Specialization) + 1 (Profane bonus against living targets, due to Skinsaw Mask)
Sholano |
Not sure if I should throw out a Bluff roll on that last one. Sholano doesn't really care if they take the place for themselves, as long as we get what we're after, but he certainly doesn't intend to hold us to any deals made with the frog-man if it doesn't suit us later on.

Ugh. My bad disappearing the last few days, guys, it's been a hell of a week out here. Speaking of which, my internet is going to stay spotty for the next couple of days, but I should be able to keep up a halfway decent posting rate - if I'm lagging, feel free to shove Sholano in the appropriate direction.
As for the plan, I vote that we secure the caverns first. Not a fan of leaving who-knows-what behind us.
Sholano |
Aaaand I'm back. Sorry about that, guys, internet was basically entirely gone from my vacation spot. Working on a gameplay post now, should be up in a bit.
Sholano |
Whoof. Big infodump is big. Well, I don't see anything we need to tackle immediately, with the boggards more or less on our side. What's everybody else think?
Mi'Dre |
Alrighty, so yeah doesn't sound like there's too much too concern us at the moment. Might be worth identifying those fish in C11, probably poisonous or something. Can we assume we know about the magic mud? If so what aura of magic is it? Unless it's going to sap the life from him or something Mi'Dre will probably enjoy some baths in there :)
Other than that uh, onwards and upwards?
Sholano |
Sorry, VoV, I think we're all just a little lost on what our next move is. Unless we've missed something obvious, I think Mi'Dre and I at least are in agreement that we should move on upwards for the moment. Not sure about everybody else.
